Agreed although you could also say that about most of lego star wars. Lego star wars is the most overpirce brand to my knowledge.
Worth is a matter of perception. You cannot buy wolf pack troopers or shock troopers for under $50. I love this set, maybe not the build, but why would we not want new clones. Not to mention, lego Star Wars is getting the arm printing it deserves.
If it had 1 more clone, I wouldn't mind the price. :/

There's one thing here that stands out to me, and it's something that Lego realllllly likes to go against. Consistency. How come Mace Windu now has a normal drum lacquered silver lightsaber when it was dark silver in the UCS Republic Gunship? I don't even care that it's a different silver, especially since his actual lightsaber is silver, gold, and black. As much as the lightsaber pieces are nostalgic, I think it's time we got a couple new lightsaber molds. We had 2 kinds from the 90s, straight or curved which was Dooku's. Then we got Clone Wars Ventress lightsabers which were slightly Curved and couldn't be double ended. I don't know if there were any other types until the round inquisitor lightsaber hilt, and then the Monkey Kid extended lightsaber. With all the unique molds that have been developed for certain themes, I think Star Wars really really deserves new lightsaber hilts. I think 3 would be nice to start with, one that looks like Anakin/ Darth Vaders lightsaber (I know they're slightly different but would work as one mold.) One that looks like Obi-Wans, and another that maybe belongs to an individual, or just a new universal one. It's nice to be able to make a Darth Maul lightsaber out of every hilt, but I feel that it's overdone now, and they should have only 1 side that fits the lightsaber blade until they make a new one for Maul (The old one would work fine for now.) Imagine a lightsaber piece that was duel molded, black and silver, and had an opening for the blade that was slanted, and maybe a quick button paint application. Look at the Sword of Gryffindor that came with the Harry Potter CMF Griphook. Tell me they can't do something duel molded for a lightsaber, with some print slapped on for extra detail. Come on now.
Um actually the Mace Windu in the gunship also has a drum lacquered lightsaber hilt, they’re literally the same. I do agree though, they should start making new lightsaber molds, maybe blasters too!
I still had faith on this set when I saw the first leaked picture. I knew the opened front part of the tank detracted from the look.

Nah you're not alone. I think getting obscure clone legions is great even if we may not have enough 212th or 332nd or whatever the popular ones are. Besides purple is a great color!
I like getting these clone legions we've never seen in shows or movies. Really exited to get a few of these sets for the Clone Troopers and an offical Republic Fighter Tank. I watched a video of an unofficial one with 2 501st battle packs.

Getting one for myself and another one for the possibility that there won't be any more of those clones

Purple clone troopers? Yes please! The price hurts but it's better value than the AAT with Ahsoka.
I wish it came with a spider droid or something more to justify the $40. Stoked for this set though! Those clone troops are 🔥
So many people got their panties in a twist based on a bad picture. Price is a bit much but it’s a solid set. A person can always try to exert patience and wait for it to go on sale.
See? Look how good it looks. To be fair, I can’t comment on the price because I won’t actually know how much they in-fluctuate or decrease the price. And that Mace Windu… that Mace… looks awesome, sucks for those who bought the UCS set.

It's still an improvement over the AAT which only had 2 minis and 2 droids (although the build here is worse).
Because of all the big pieces kinda like the 2020 aat where there is a one piece difference from the 501st battlepack

I agree that is isn't as bad as first thought but I also agree that the price point is too high. People will still buy it for the minifigs though, I know I will.

@Zennar I have to agree. This design is literally garbage. It's a good thing we can make our own MOCs. I'll most likely purchase 2 of these for the clones and the mace windu mini figs, then use the part for the saber tank for a MOC.

Not quite. The first leaked image looked really bad because you couldn't see the red between the main portion of the tank and the side at that angle. Granted other issues like kinda ugly cannons and the overall red-white-green color pattern (a shared problem for many clone vehicles btw) remain, but it's not nearly as bad as it looked at first. Plus nobody's "falling in love" with it, it's still getting fair criticism, people are mostly hyped about the minifigs so stop lying, ty.

I'm sorry, but I'm still not liking this design. I'm going to buy two just to make my own.
It looks slightly better but its still a really rough build especially compared to the last version of the set, which in my opinion is one of the best Lego star wars sets ever released.
Figures are awesome though so I'm still gonna be buying a few of these and maybe looking for alternate builds

This set definitely has it's flaws but the absolute BEST part of the set is the minifigures. Extremely excited to get a few of these for the clone troopers. Probably giving away the extra Mace Windu figures.
