A pro like that could definitely repeat the spot over and over. He probably took some without them there to figure out the oil on the lanes and stuff though

Flying Eagle and The one where Jason set the one ball really slow got the 9 with his normal ball and then the slow one came in got the single one left were my favorites.

Probably because most bowling balls aren't very cheap, and a lot of places that will give you a donation ball ask you to get the filled and drilled before they'll give it to you. So either way you're spending ~$30-50 for a donated ball.
It's a pretty common trick shot actually. You spin one ball really fast down the lane and then throw a ball that's not going to strike. The first ball you spun down the lane will then (hopefully) pick up any pins you missed.
