SALON TECHNIQUE 2 - COMBINATIONS

This haircut uses 3 different techniques - Graduation, Layering and Disconnection, creating a modern, salon friendly shape.
Structure, volume and softness are all features of the 3 panel combination which allows for variety in length and great suitability.

I watched your video a couple of times., I thought maybe Ihave missed you cutting the Mohawk area or the top ..Your focus was more on texturizing then showing what you did to the top.. I understand the top was disconnected, but how did you achieve that? what would happen if someone walks in with a long hair not cut short previously? you fail to show the important part of your haircut😮

He said it’s technique. Not the haircut. In the first panel he’s demonstrating how to use triangular graduation to develop shape and build weight, use overdirection, cross-checking for symmetry. The second panel he demonstrates a square line/shape control the roundness/flatten/balance the first panel and uses diagonal back (curved lines) to reduce bulk and round the face and chip in the face frame. Point cutting in horizontal subsections to reduce weight, soften and refine the perimeter The third panel is disconnected and used to contrast the previous two panels. I think he was showing us how we can apply these techniques to these specific areas of the head. You can also incorporate these techniques into any haircut. He left the third panel alone this is disconnection, he did not connect/blend it to the previous section that is how he achieved it. It’s a lot to process but sometimes we focus more on duplicating the haircut itself than how the form/shape/areas of the head are most important to consider. Practice helps to take it all into consideration then the the sky’s the limit ❤
