What I love about hillstream loaches are that they're very peaceful, but assertive. They will not be bossed around, they can handle themselves, but they won't go out of their way to bully a fish if they're leaving them alone, and they don't seem to bother small fish and shrimp. Great addition to the tank and you really spoil your fish, they're lucky to have you. Very nice update, take care!
It's 6.30am in Malaysia and your video poped out and really makes me happy! I kept blue neon goby and trying to set one of the hillstream setup for them. I have my ideas now and will put more other gobies soon. Nice video!
Beautiful setup! did you change the design of the aquascape from the first Hillstream tank with the wood branches to this more bare bones rock version? Or do you have 2 giant Hillstream tanks? Enjoy seeing the step by step improvements!! Thank you!
Great looking tank man. Quick question. I'm interested in getting some of these gobies for my 60 gallon tank. But do you think they would be alright with my dwarf neon rainbowfish and boesemani (still juvenile) rainbowfish? I ask because the rainbowfish tend to hang around at the top of the water column and it they'd be picking at the gobys while they're on the glass? I have a few hillstream loaches and they don't get bothered.
Thanks Nick. I never kept rainbow fish so I am not really familiar with them. But I did have three of these gobies and this is one only one that is hanging on the glass. The other two were "normal" bottom dwelling fish. But I guess if your rainbows are fine with hillstream loaches it could work. Just be warned these gobies are pricey.
@@IMaqua ya the rainbow fish are pretty peaceful so I'm hoping it will be fine. My local fish store has them listed for $15 Canadian which isn't bad. Same for the hillstream. You think it's safe to continue going without a lid? If I get any ill probably go with 3 aswell. I've read people say they can "crawl" up and out due to their round stomach fin that's like a suction cup
I would definitely put a lid. Its only a matter of time before they jump out. It can be OK for a month or two or even a year but its only a matter of time. I did eventually put a lid on this aquarium and you will see a reason why in the next episode.
Love it, I am a fan of this project!! One question that probably you can help me with. How do I siphon my gravel (similar to yours) without remove it?? You make it look easy...
Just stop the flow of the siphon by applying a strong pressure on the siphon hose with your other hands. Flow will reduce and all the gravel will fall back to the bottom.
One of my all times fear is the hardscaape and rocks shift and fall which might squishes the fish. Is there a method you use to completely secure the hardscape?
You can use super glue or silicone but that is more for attaching hardscape or wood that is already stable. There is also two components polyester resin that is used for really heavy hardscape and that is the safest method.
Everything is possible. If you watched this aquarium journey from the begging you will notice I had no lid. During that time I didn't lose any loaches. Later on one Garra jumped out so I decided to put a lid. From that point on all my aquariums are with a lid.

Thanks as always Phil.
I have other type
No one else that I’m aware of has a channel simply showing the progression of their tanks. Great idea and beautiful tank. Love hillstream loaches!
Glad you enjoy it!

Thanks for watching and greetings from Croatia.
you did a great job for your aquarium i feel those fish are living a happy life:)!
I really try to do my best. Thanks buddy.
This is pure art, your channel is so underrated, keep up that amazing cinematography and you're sure to gain tons more traction
Thanks a lot. Actually in the last 3 weeks I noticed a lot of growth. Slowly but surely.
The algae look is so unique! 😉
Its nice to finally embrace algae in at least one aquarium.
looks amazing, minnows are so underrated
Underrated and underpriced...
Perfect river aquarium, good job man 😉.
Thanks Lorenzo.
Beautiful tank
I fully agree. It will just continue to develop with time.
Something beautiful when it comes to nature 👍😊👌 Very nice material 🎬😎👌
Thanks Mr. Beny.
Looks really awesome 👀👍🏽✌🏽
Thanks.

The Hillstream aquarium you are talking about has been discontinued. So now I have only one Hillstream aquarium .

Love this tank (and the music..)
Thanks Andy, it's one of my favourite aquariums.
I'd like to set up a white cloud and hillstream loach set up... one of these days!
River tanks are best 👌
Great video! I really like how it's made. Subbed for more ;)
Awesome, thank you!

@@IMaqua That's what I've tried but I guess it takes more practice hahah thanks! :)
When I apply pressure I basically "break" the hose. That is usually enough to stop the flow.

Does hillstream loach jump out of tanks?
The never jump out. But I am planning to put the lid on. Because it was summer and it was too hot I kept the aquarium open top.
The goby only eat blood worms?
Yes red lipstick goby only eats bloodworms and live food.
How long did u keep the light on during the algae growth phase
I always wanted to do a goby river tank w many species of goby
The light was on 50% brightness during cycling phase for 11 hours. Reduced it later on to 9 hours.
I am trying to get more gobies but it is hard to get them where I live at.
добрый день. на сколько литров аквариум?
Volume of the aquarium is 110LTRs and dimensions are 90cmx45cmx27cm.
pr໐๓໐Ş๓ 👌
👍
It needs faster water flow.
Thanks for watching.
