    ❤You say, that's it, that's all the videos, but there is plenty else! Share some photos, a collection of her work, some photos of travel and hollidays together, the dogs, music festivals, like in Mississippi?. It's all up to you. If sharing about her and your life together helps you , and helps you honor and share all those times and beautiful or even difficult moments, then do it. You owe your audience nothing, yet you have 1000's of people deeply emotionally connected to your are Brittany's story. I bet there is not one person, who's life has not been enriched by hearing your story. It's not just about the cancer. It was the honesty and passion with which you both lived and with which you both shared, that made it so compelling

      Not a bad idea. I do have some stock footage and some videos I found that were hiding. So, there's always something new I could be showing. I've also decided to move forward with "me" being the focus - walking through grief, and the journey that I've been on for awhile. So, I've got a lot more to share. There's a new video posting tomorrow, actually. An 'intro' video - for the Channel Homepage (something I should have done months ago), and I'm working on stuff going forward.

      @@Beyond_Cancer sounds good I look forward to it. 'Project Life'🥴⚘ As much as I ( personally) still am drawn to grieve and mourn forever, (as in that space, the bliss I and my partner had is still alive), I can see you need to move forward as well, and you and your expiriences becoming the focus of these videos seems like a very healthy thing!👏🙏😙

      Hey Lisa, and Kimberly! I often talk about this. I'm a bit of a nerd (if you've been following the journey, you can definitely see that) and something that's really interesting - starting in ancient Sumaria, the grieving party was given the "social allowance" to essentially wander the streets in various manner of undress, covered in as much filth and dung as they could cover themselves in, drink to excess and essentially get in fights, destroy public property, and mourn as long as they could. The length of time a person carried on in this manner, was a direct display of love, and it was suspected that there was social expectations on the minimum amount of time you should stay this way. We see parts of that tradition carried on down into other cultures in their "appropriate displays of grief." I often think about that, and while I don't wander the streets drunk and getting into public brawls, I have to admit, sometimes in the quiet of night - the long dark times of the soul - it's easy to see why people express grief through punching holes in walls. I don't. I couldn't muster that strength to break my own property. But... I get it.

    • @kimberlyhendren2097
      @kimberlyhendren2097 Год назад +2

      Very cool info about grief traditions. I had no idea. (and nerds are coo by the way) You are right, grief is always the worst late at night, alone in the quiet! Not for the faint of heart. Just remember, the light always comes back, you just have to wait for it. We are with you my friend. Even if it's in cyberspace.@@Beyond_Cancer

    The services sounded wonderful, just what Brittany would have wanted! Darrin, I hope you can find peace and solace sooner than later. Brittany cared so much for you, the last thing she would have wanted is for you to be miserable and in so much pain. I have always loved this poem and I hope it brings you some peace!
    Do not stand at my grave and weep
    I am not there. I do not sleep.
    I am a thousand winds that blow.
    I am the diamond glints on snow.
    I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
    I am the gentle autumn rain.
    When you awaken in the morning's hush
    I am the swift uplifting rush
    Of quiet birds in circled flight.
    I am the soft stars that shine at night.
    Do not stand at my grave and cry;
    I am not there. I did not die.

    I wish you well Darrin. I hope the grief becomes less raw and you can find comfort with the memories of the love you shared. I hope you keep doing the grief counseling sessions for a bit longer. The videos of you from January show what an immense physical and emotional toll this journey took on you. Sorting through all your emotions may help you deal with your grief. Did you get your D&D crew back together again? Some time alone with the pups is necessary, but re-engaging with those things that gave you joy may lift you out of despondency.

      Hey Barbara! First of all, thank you. I'm still doing the therapy. I'm actually chatting with my counselor about easing my way out of sessions. It's a process, but I've been doing fairly well lately. As for my D&D crew - I started gaming again in March, I believe. Additionally, my friends have been keeping me active and it's really helped. It really does take a village. I always say that there's no such thing as a Christian in a bubble. And with grief, it's doubly so. We need those breaks. Forced enjoyment, as it were. lol.

It was my pleasure to have watched just a few of her videos while she was still alive, then nothing. So It was great that you continued her story so that we could catch up with what happened. I hope that things are starting to get a bit better for you and that you will or have found something fulfilling to help fill the void made from her passing. Hope to see/hear more from you in the future.

    I know it's not the same but I prayed for the Lord to take my Dad home. Watching helplessly all we can do is try to give some kind of relief for them. It is a selfless act knowing they are leaving us.
    Brittany is no longer suffering she's with our Father.

    This hurts my heart though. You’re faith is amazing, that’s for sure. I wish I had half the faith as you guys do, as I know I’m lacking right now. I try to see things in a different light, but sometimes that’s very hard to do…. My momma was just diagnosed with lung cancer 2 weeks ago. She’s 78 years old. I’m not taking it very well at all. Pray for us please🤍

      Crystal, I don'y claim to be a very faithful man. I falter way too much to be as good as people seem to think. But I certainly will pray. Praying right now, in fact. Just remember that the bible is full of the answer - why bad things happen to good people. But, sometimes, His glory is in the story told through generations. Hold onto your faith, because He's holding on to you - even when it feels like He's abandoned you. The hardest read and one of the most personal walks through the bible is Habakkuk. The story of God "fixing" a problem with a long term solution and what that means for his people in the now. It's not uplifting, but it can bring us comfort in knowing that the Lord is in control, despite the chaos of circumstance, and that His glory outlives even us. Don't think that your present circumstance is a direct condemnation or God ignoring you. He's aware of everything, and He's holding you when you cry.

    • @Beyond_Cancer
      @Beyond_Cancer  Год назад

      Hey Josh! You seem new around these parts, so lemme give you the "template" - I try and post this to all newcomers. If you've seen this before, or if you've been here awhile, and I just don't recognize you, please ignore this: This is Darrin, (Brittany's husband) She passed this January 16th of this year (2023) from Kidney Cancer. We filmed a lot of videos and Brittany wanted to upload them, and she was able to do so for awhile. But as she got sicker, she wasn't able to post them anymore. By the time she passed away, we were a year and some change behind in videos. So now, it's on me. I'm posting everything we filmed. And there's a lot! And I've got more to go, too! You'll notice on every video I list the date, including the year that the film was taken to help avoid confusion! The one you watched was from 1/28/2023.
      The story is wild. God shows up in big ways (sneak back to episode 22.5 if you want to hear why I think you should keep watching despite the fact that she's gone) and God shocks EVERYONE in our lives.
      Brittany wanted to touch lives, and she felt called to do these videos, and would often say if she could touch just 1 life, then it would have all been worth it. I hope you continue watching along with us for the journey! We do, get a miracle... a HUGE one. (Episode 80 and forward) It just wasn't quite what we expected. I hope you continue watching! There's some awesome stuff in those past episodes, and I hope to show my story going forward.
