When Kirsty Meakin did this 2years ago she used soft bodied acrylic paint & she stretched the jelly stamper to make it crack 👍🏼
I instantly went & bought all the things I needed to recreate the look & bottled it 🤣🤦🏼♀️
They look amazing Joseph you f**king champion x
I just need you to know. I bloody love you. I’m so glad I found your RUclips channel.
You’re a huge inspiration when it comes to nails but you’re also so funny and lovely and authentic - And I just adore your videos
These are beautiful!! RIP your beautiful stampers 😭 but this is such a gorgeous design
Bless you! 💓 That's so kind, and means the world, thank you!! 🥰🥰🥰
They turned out great! Last summer, I tried this technique and absolutely *loved* the results. I think the issue was that your acrylic paint was a tad too thick. When I did mine, I experimented for a few days beforehand and discovered that cheap paint (mine was 50 cents at Walmart) works best, and it needs to be way thinner than you'd think. I had to apply it so thinly that the pigment powders were slightly visible through the paint. Then I let them dry overnight, and they came out perfectly. It's one of those things you gotta plan ahead for and test a few times before the final design. And yeah, like you, there was a lot of cursing involved, haha. Love to you and Handsome Dex!
Ah, so reallllllllly thin then. And yeah I wish I'd have left it overnight in hindsight! I'll remember this for the (probably won't happen) next time! 😆
@MissJosNailCo yeah super duper extra thin lol. But yes, please try again! The results are so worth it!
You know what, I think I will! Because the result of a failed attempt was cool, so I should make the effort! 💪
@@MissJosNailCo 💯💯💯
Omg overnight really 😫 So if I client wants it I need to have one in my drawer ready to go just in case 🤷♀️ What a pain in the a$$
Okay, 1st off, These are freakin gorgeous!!
The 3rd one reminded me of a map of the world, as the orange yellow part kind of, looked like Africa.
But as you were doing them, you were saying it's not turning out or working... I'm going, yes it is - that's beautiful !! lol
Then you say, see that line go across the nail - I didnt want that, (and it's a beautiful stripe of rainbow across the nail).
And I'm going What, Why??
It's gorgeous !
It was a perfect little strip of rainbow, who doesn't want that?
The method may not have worked out, but the nails sure did.!!!
And no, it may not have been the art you had in your head, but isn't art supposed to have a life of it's own, and take it's own shape?
And when you gave up and put the rest to the sticky paper, I was so sad... look at all that prettiness go away 😢
Thanks for sharing the video, we all did learn through your pain, so really, thanks for sharing this 😃
While I’m deeply sorry for the loss of your stamper heads, your set turned out absolutely beautiful and amazing! Thank you for the warning along with the tutorial. Love f rom NY ❤❤❤❤
I love your narration so much. It's like how I sound in my head every time I attempt new "easy" nail art (but with an American accent instead).
😆😆 Thank you! ☺️
Honestly if this were me id have thrown a tantrum and not finished the set. They turned out super pretty at least!
Dude! Your experience this day is my experience every time I do my nails 😮🤬 makes me mad enough to throw things! I’ve heard every day is a school day but some days just don’t need to be SO school-y! 😢 but I think your result is still beautiful ❤🎉 RIP stamper heads 🤗
😆😆 Sometimes it would be nice for everything to go perfectly, wouldn't it!! My poor stamper 😭🪦🥀
Those actually do look really cool! Cracked me up when you just left the chunk of stamper on the nail! 🤣🤣🤣
I read this as she was talking about it…I was soooo tickled 😂😂😂😂
I love how the set looks and I understand the disappointment! Lol I took an entire morning and afternoon fiddling with this. Use the thinnest amount of pigment and the thinnest layer of paint you can manager. It's a pain but you can do it!
For me this worked better on the OG stampers. The marshllow squishy spampers. Not the clear ones. Those you can squish and fold till the cows come home and they dont crack. Your designs turned out beautiful though. You make anything look amazing. 😊
I think it looks great, but might actually work better with poster paint rather than acrylic, because it's less of a flexible texture (I say this as a painter!) - embrace the chaos though, now you have a stamper that exists just for doing stuff like this!
I f-ing LOVE these!!!! They just say that the person wearing this manucure is loads of fun and really cool.
for a fail they turned out beautiful!!So funny when top coating and you came across a lump, keep being you !!!
I never tried it . They look cool. TFS. 🩷🩷💋💋
I used to watch nail videos 24/7. Your the only one I watch now. I love your designs.
Ah! Thank you so much! ☺️
Same…I absolutely love to hear her talk😂😂😂
I recently bought neon pigments, and what can I say. They intimidate me lol. Also, R.I.P. stamper head
I know what you mean! Try VoTino's pigment base - I think it will make it easier to work with.
@@MissJosNailCo okay. Thanks for the tip 😊
Sorry Josef, did not quite get that...don't what? 😂
Thank you for making me laugh.
But I get it! IT IS SO maddening when things don't go to plan, especially when it takes much longer than you expected. In the end, you saved it. I also think they turned out very pretty. ❤❤
😆😆. I am still upset about it!
Beautiful pieces of art as usual... am I the only one that sees a face in the first design? Love the nails, love your commentary, love you! Keep being you Miss Jo 😘
I see the face…almost like a mask😂😂
Ooo I love this! I made the acrylic paint layer even thinner (almost translucent using a palette knife) , and cured foil gel onto the nail, and it helped A LOT! But it gave me headaches in the beginning as well 🤪
Thanks for the tips! I've bought a different paint so will try again soon! 😅
Acrylic paint is more "stretchy" than say an oil paint. I would suggest if you were to try this again to thin your paint with the tiniest bit of water. Make the layer of paint even thinner and let it dry longer or use à hair dryer to make sure the paint is very dry. It should give you a more "crackled" effect
I agree with everything you just said! I will try again...at some point! 😅
When I watch your videos I know I'm in for laughs and beautiful nails 💅 This set is lit 🔥
Love that! Thank you so much! ☺️
I think all the moisture in the paint got soaked into the powder. The powder couldn't release moisture because it's not exposed to air. So, the moist powder part wouldn't let the sandwiched area of paint dry. Maybe try a thin coat of gel polish unstead? It came out gorgeous regardless!
i think the texture of the "dried" paint was maybe throwing ya off a bit, cuz it didn't perform? or come off the stamper? (i guess?) the way you'd had it in your mind but sis! this is a total *hail*! 🙌🏽 the final result was absolutely stunning! 😍🌈 and i couldn't help but to smile & laugh through the whole vid, cuz i do a ton of whining & bitching & cussing in my vids, too. 🤣
Jo I absolutely love ur personality u and I are a lot alike we have that I don’t give a chit attitude if u don’t like it then don’t watch it kick rocks lmao😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ur awesome ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Technique: Needs work.
Look: OUTSTANDING!!
Not everything comes out perfect.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
If you do try that again, I would use cheaper acrylic, like craft paint. I think you, maybe, used heavy body paint and it needed to be thinner paint. Just my opinion.
Brilliant! They are a hail as they look amazing!! But AGGGHH the frustration!!
I’m currently writing up a very serious document in my day job (Children’s Services), watching your video in the background and cracked up laughing at the Aldi poster. Note to self: do NOT write ‘fucking champion’ in the document 😂😂
They look fabs! And I love the Julia necklaces! I did this once and I just used MG perfect white. It worked ok for me. 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤭🤪
Love the results but I feel your pain 😭 R.I.P. Most expensive Clear Jelly Stamper x Celina Rydén stamper!
Do you have to use acrylic paint? I think I’ve seen people using White gelpolish and curing it in the lamp? 🤔 It can be a totally made up memory though. 🤷🏼♀️
They turned out lovely! RIP to the stampers. I recon the paint was just a bit stretchy. Yes I knew the missing word. I want that cross so bad, my current one is missing a stone, just noticed tonight (different brand), but saving for roof repair’s 😭😭😭. Maybe eventually. Lol
Thank you for all your tips and tricks! I was totally successful doing what you said to do and not doing what you said to NOT do! (Aka my special edition Clear Jelly Stamper is perfectly fine! )
And my nails are BEAUTIFUL! I didn't have the same gems so i used little neon circle glitter pieces.... it's not nearly as pretty as your gems!
Thank you!
Awww, I hate that you destroyed your favorite, most expensive, Clear Jelly Stamper Celina Ryden stampers.
The nails turned out great.
I did laugh at "I just cured that sh*t in there".
I have the Celina Ryden plates and stamper and could not get a clear pickup. Totally user error, but I got so mad I used stickers insead on my last set.
That set turned out amazing- even if it wasn’t how you envisioned which is terribly frustrating and even worse disappointing for you. I know it happened to me today too 😢. The acrylic paint was incredibly thick even for white (I used to do a lot of painting with acrylics white or any light colours are usually really thick to help keep the colour consistent when mixing and cover darker colours also white is used to cover a canvas to help blend paints similar to oil painting. I would even suspect due to your description of dry time there may be a additive in the paint to keep it from drying quickly) If you were to try again definitely water that white shit down, I would even experiment with a small amount of alcohol (for both you and the acrylic paint you get the good stuff tho😂)and a bit of water on one of those f’d up stampers. On your stampers may they RIP, maybe you could try buying a cheap one and changing the silicone out and pretend it didn’t happen 🤷🏼♀️. Sometimes it’s the tool handle not the tool itself
Hello Miss Jo I’m 58 years old and have been trying to do stamping for years now but For the life of me I can’t do them they just don’t work out I don’t know what I’m doing wrong you would think I should have it figured it out by now but nope So when I see someone else do them I just absolutely love them and wish I could do the same good or bad you did a great job love watching you’re video’s have a fantastic day/night Xx watching you from Australia 👋👋
I've shouted FUCK so loudly that my husband came running into the room thinking something was really wrong! 😆
Thankfully I only have cheap stampers. 😂 Love them Jo. Will be giving them a go.
My guess on why it didn’t dry the way you wanted is because you used acrylic paint and not tempra paint. Acrylic has a polymer in it. Tempra paint is definitely flaky and acrylic is more gloss. It still looks amazing though
The set is again amazing! I would have the launched the lot 😂 but so glad you carried on so we can see all trial & errors!! Hope you’re starting to feel “better”! Xx
Girl, those came out pretty cool!! But you might want to eat before you play with the nails!! Hands were very shaky. Worry about you not eating to the point of shaking hands.
So sorry your stamper heads got ruined! Do they have replacement heads at CJS? At least the end result is good! Definitely only use old stampers for pigments and chromes. I feel that acrylic paint takes hours to dry. I sometimes use it on the back of water decals to make the colors brighter when using them over colorful nails, but it really does take longer than I want to dry.
Absolutely adore this style, going to recreate these this weekend. Already bought a really cheap stamper for this too!! 😅
Yea, I had a time with this hack, but I used a smaller stamper and also the cheap thin paint from Walmart or doller general and the thinnest of coats
It turned out super cool. Yours isn't dry it seems with it being stretchy lol but these are still gorgeous, and I loved the video. You just crack me up, lol
I know it isnt what you wanted but GIRL....they look amazing 💚💚🧡🧡
Your commentary is the best! You always make me giggle.
You are so hard on yourself. These looks great in the end. Sorry about your stampers though 😢
First, i super appreciate you showing this and what it was really like doing it for you. Knowing the reality is excellent information too! It makes me trust you more. And of course you always crack me up!!💜💜💜
So annoyed I didn’t even get a notification that you had a new video !!.. never seen this before so yours looked perfect, 🤩 and yeah eat like a fucking champion ❤
I am giving it all the thumbs up! I love how they turned out! I did several of these looks last year but with just a clean eyeshadow brush. Will definitely give this a shot though.
All hale!!! It is it hail?? Is there even a word hale? Lol I don't think so but when I type hail I think of the storm substance hail. Lol either way it's a great set.
I'm in love and will definitely be trying this! I believe she's using a gloss acrylic paint instead of a matte acrylic paint.
They look fabulous, but I'm in no way tempted to recreate 😂😂
Sorry for your experience, 😢 because it is a great design. Thanks for the warning. 😊
I think they turned out fantastic. Maybe the acrylic paint? TFS! ❤
Sorry about your stampers Miss Jo🫣 The nails turned out beautiful though❤
Youre being a bit hard on yourself, the nails looks great, but i get that youre upset about that celina ryden limited edition clear jelly stamper ,🕯️
Yes never use your good stamper for this stuff I saw it on Talia’s video she’s amazing with stampers and stamping
They turned out so gorgeous!! That process would make me use profanity more than I already do and fuck is in all of my sentences at least once.
RIP clear jelly stamper 😢😂 Beautiful turn out tho. ❤
Jo, the result is great. My experience with this technique is that it works better on a sturdier stamper, and your paint to me, looks too thick.
They look fcuking champion to me! xx
🤣👌
I’ve wanted to try this design but if miss jo has found it hard to, mine will be an absolute disaster. I think yours turned out great x
Ah don't say that - I think it was my paint that was the issue. I have bought another one so will try again soon. Someone recommended this one: amzn.eu/d/hDm8BKX so that's what I'll be trying x
@@MissJosNailCo thank you. I’ve just bought it 🤣x
They gave u hell but at the end they looked great! Kudos for keep going💕
My condolences for you and your stamper. My heart goes out to you and your stamper family.💕😅
R.I.P. Clear Jelly Stamper I'm so sorry for your loss Miss Jo :'(
I did a neon set an i get the paint to work. Come watch🎉 my first recording an voice over.
Thank you for making me laugh! I love them. I can relate to your frustration!
Loved it!! Absolutely will never try it tho!!
It's beautiful. So sorry about your stamper.
Wonder if you could use plastic wrap?
They r gorgeous next time use stamping polish n see if that helps
I love you ! Your videos are amazing ❤
When I have done this, I used CHEAP acrylic paint (think Folk Art or Apple Barrel brands). The THINNER I spread the paint (I used a gel pot scraper to spread)the better results I got. Like, you want to just “barely” cover the pigments with white. AND I finally perfected one, picked up the stamper ready to stamp it on the nail, and I DROPPED the stamper pad face down on my clear jelly stamper sticky pad and the entire design stuck to it. So, there’s that!
Thank you for the tips! I think I will try it again 😅. And...OH NO! That is so unfortunate and bloody typical that it landed butter-side down, so to speak! That is so what would happen to me too!
Ooomyy, I feel you!! Maybe it's the paint that stayed 'stretchy'?? Because the pigmentvare powders so they are as dry as it can, so that's why I should think it was the acrylic paint? Maybe you bought one which is too good..🤭😅 I'm so sorry Love!! I do have some paint because I also want to try it and Not with my good stampers! 😅😁 And not those ones.. 😱😭 It does look great, but I can feel your frustration! I give you so many props for still making your video!! 🙌 I would have trow it away!! 🫣😆 Did the same with my stamping 2 years ago! 😅🤪😂 So yes, my absolute appreciation for every video you do but to loose the Celina stamper: 😭😭 !! I'm sending you so much love from Belgium!! 😘😘😘🥰🥰💙💜💙
RIP stamper 😭. I think you're right that the paint I got was too good at its job!
Those are absolutely beautiful ❤🎉
Joe' when i do it i use i hair dryer to dry the paint ❤❤❤❤❤
Jo i laughed my ass off throughout this video. I know you were frustrated but damn they look amazing. BTW did you end up ruining your most expensive jelly stamper?
Glad you had a laugh! Erm...maybe I did, maybe I did 🤣😭
Hey Miss Jo ❤ I was wondering if you could do a video on the best and easiest ways to use neon pigments without using a stamper? My neon pigments keeps coming out very light instead of vibrant 😢 I don’t know what I’m doing wrong 🤔
Good idea, I'll make a note!
You poor thing. I feel your pain. I did the same thing when I tried. I think I needed cheaper paint and way less 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah I think the paint was too decent 😂🙄
Not quite the journey you were hoping to take with the pigment cracking but by golly, it's a cracking set! Sooo pretty 😍 😍 I love it!
Thank you so much! ☺️🥰🥰
I wonder if you did this with the pigments but put gel polish over the pigments. Then cured under a UV light. Would it get the cracking that was needed for the design? Things that make you go hmmmmm. This design turned out fantastic by the way. I love it!
I don't think gel polish would crack, but I think I will try again with a thinner coat of paint, and leave it overnight!!
That is a hail-ya! RIP stamper 🪦💀
Love the nails Miss Jo! 💜💙🩷💚🧡💛🤗
Poor stamper head but, I love the end result full on summer 1980s.
Isn't it!!
Hi Ryan's mam Sam commenting... I'm laughing my head off as I saw this design on Instagram yesterday 25th July and thought I would give it a go as I had seen some other person do it and it looked cool all crackly But... mine did exactly what yours did it wasn't crackly it was stringy I did the exact same way as you and yes it was so frustrating 🤨😵 I think it's still not dry enough I saw someone else use a hair dryer on it to get it totally dry because who has time to wait for it to dry 😂😅 I'm going in again tomorrow with either a hair dryer or I might use gel polish 😮😅 but the one thing I didn't do was use a very expensive jelly stamper 🤣😅🤣😅 but I love the effects ❤
Wahey! Someone else who had this problem! I bought a different acrylic paint that someone recommended, but I am yet tot try it. Good luck with the hair dryer! 💨💨💨
@MissJosNailCo it didn't work 🤣😅 my paint was totally dry but it just went like very thin paper🤨 I tried a thin layer and a thick layer but no 😵😭 I will post them on Instagram and tag you so you can have a laught 😅🤣
They look great!
They are awesome 😎 x
Miss Jo it might be the paint you used. They still turned out cute
I think you're right; that's what everyone is saying, so I've bought another one and will try it again soon!
They r gorgeous next time use stamping polish n see if that helps
Oooh!! Good idea, as that dried super quick! *makes mental note. Thank you! ☺️
They look awesome
These nails are EFFING AMAZING!! ***BUT*** Can we get an F in chat for your jelly stampers. They led a good life, full of love and amazing nail design.
I think they look awesome! I love them and love the rainbow 🌈 colors as well! Yeah! They look amazing! I'd definitely wear them! I'd prolly not wanna take them off when was time to do something new. Lol. 🙂🙂💖
The end result is definitely an all hail, but the journey to get there was a f*cking nightmare! If I decide to try this, at least I'll know what NOT to do, LOL! Thank you for posting this, Jo; many probably wouldn't have.
Love them ❤❤❤❤❤
The paint looks very thick.. i would defo try a thinner paint, it will dry quicker also it will transfer better onto the nail, also you ll be able to bend the stamper more and get more of a crackle effect.. if its to thick you wont crack xxx but the outcome looks amazing thou xxx
Hellooooo xxx
All hail 😅
it was the paint...need to use like a "CRAFT" paint , like apple barrel, art deco, in the crafting section :)
I'll look for those, thank you!
Just bought an Apple Barrel one 🤞🤞
Cute❤
🤣🤣🤣
Try nail art acrylic paint? X
I think it's the same 🤔. The one I had that had gone bad was for nails, but I remember it being the same consistency as this one. I think I'll just count this as something done, and not think about it for a while 😂😂.
I think they turned out fantastic. I do however understand your frustration. I lose my temper when trying to do my nails ever since I was sick in Feb. According to doc, it's going to take a few more months. I am finally cleaning up my bedroom & organizing things. It's been 5 years since I went thru shit & gave it to the box on the corner. I'll be very happy when it's done. Love ya girl, great job!!
Thank you hun. I hope you are feeling much better very soon. Welk done on organising things - that always helps clear the mind, doesn't it! Much ❤️.
