JHud is a masterpiece of vocals. EGOT! very talented, humble and beautiful. She’s gone through a lot. American Idol, they were stopping her, and look now where is a girl who placed 7th in that show, than it was a family tragedy, she’s definitely a strong woman. She’s not underrated in USA, she’s achieved a lot of accolades and awards, but for me, and for most people, she’s underrated in mainstream-worldwide popularity, her albums are not so successful and marketable, but i think Jennifer doesn’t need to be successful as most pop singers, because she’s not a pop singer, she can do pop, but i believe she feels comfortable in gospel, soul genres, it’s her roots, and as we know such type of music is not so marketable as a pop. But i mean, Jennifer doesn’t need it because she always has and will have work and money, as an actress, as a producer, and a singer too. I think that’s she doesn’t put a new album for many years, because she may be afraid of its success, it would be successful in soul/gospel charts, but not in the mainstream ones, but it’s fine too for this genre. I think Jennifer is out of her time, because now this genre is not explored at all, that’s why it’s not so popular. And it’s a major fact that all around the world she’s less popular than Beyonce, Ariana, Mariah, etc. bc these girls are working for popular market and they love this genre of music, i don’t want to disrespect them, so JHud doesn’t need it, she’s not that type of person who would put material bc of its popularity, she wants to feel comfortable at music she puts at first. Also, i think it’s embarrassing and disgusting that she did not get any NOMINATION for Respect. She did a great job. Our Princess Of Soul, Miss Jennifer Hudson

You know something examples like this is primarily why I didn’t appreciate the Aretha Franklin movie. My grandmother was a huuuge fan so she remembers a lot of her interviews and a great deal of those interviews we can see nowadays from back in the day. However the point is Aretha was a tough cookie and did not take any mess or play any games. She was big on her respect and values. In the movie they portrayed her as this docile sweet Angel. Which was the opposite her. You couldn’t approach or talk to her any ol Kind of way! I personally admired that! I wish they could’ve shown her in her totality
