Why go through all those expensive steps to control the tolerance of the frequency response using pure mechanical means? Why not just focus on efficiency of the loudspeaker system and allow the frequency response be corrected using Dirac Live instead? To use software as the technology is basically free compared to using electrical or mechanical design elements. Any audiophile will use something like Dirac Live anyhow, since you need to manage the frequency response in the room at the listening position...
