Best strategy for me was to use tech with matsuri and use power with fugimaru. Reason is when you get bankai you're bankai is still the default shikia so you have tech matsuri to kill power types and go bankai it will switch you to power to kill speed.
Game was so amazing they pour almost everything in it at first i kinda hate it coz of many dialouges but then i kinda used to it and understand the puropose of it and get amazed and additcted . The creator and develpopers They really love bleach fans and create a masterpiece no can do in all anime games.
I think, of the six Shikai, Ryujomaru's Tech form (Fujimaru's chain whip) and Kotomaru's Speed form (Matsuri's chakram) are the coolest, but Kotomaru's Tech form (Matsuri's big-ass cleaver) is the most useful (best main twin + rarest combat type + most enemies are Power-type anyway = OP character).
Isn't true, no matter what type you choose. If you choose to play with Fujimaru, Matsuri will always choose the power type. If you choose to play with Matsuri, Fujimaru will always choose the speed type.
So, from what I get from Shikais... Fujimaru: Speed: Pata [Indian Bladed Glove] Tech: Chain Weapon, possibly Kusari-fundo? Power: Scimitar Matsuri: Speed: Chakram Tech: Cleaver Power: Guan-Dao? Wish I knew what their attacks meant with non-cannon choices. >_>
It really is such a shame that bankai in story mode is locked behind a pain in the ass series missions to complete that you arent informed about and cant retry. Considering how they put so much effort into making your characters development thematic and legitamate. Wouldve been so amazing to see you character awaken his bankai in that awesome moment against lord seigen where he sees things clearly for once.
NeutralGuyDoubleZero Just save before doing the missions. That is what i did. If it doesn't work use the auto-battle option during the story battles to grind.
Well to be fair there are 2 opportunities to get bankai. You can get it early before chapter 19 I think by completing certain missions before the end of a certain chapter. If you do this you will have bankai before the end. I'm pretty sure after that though once you have completed the game you automatically unlock it.
That would have to be a sequel, though tbh a game like this is a relic of its age. The only Bleach games that'll happen now will not be based on original stories like this

Oh wow, played this game tons of times but never actually tried out the alt weapons you could get as Shikai cuz I disliked how the Bankai forced you back to default, so I chose the default to keep both Bankai and Shikai the same type....but now I'm seeing this, I really have to admit they put far more effort into the alts than I guessed, Fuji's Tech type in particular looks badass. I just wish they had made alternative Bankai's as well, I can see the versatility of having a sole typing, but it would have been amazing to see the Bankai's fit the original Shikai's as well (Fujimaru's Flail and Matsuri's Chakrams both turn into sword+armour? It just lowers the awesomeness). Not a very good game overall, I'll admit, but there was something quite fun in starting the game with our newb rank-Shinigami's, getting to know the cast and working your way up to being on par with the Captains in an individual plot where the main cast weren't the limelight. I wish they'd try implementing this kind of system again rather than all of the cookie cutter Beach games that came out afterwards, or do a create-your-own Shinigami type system. Playing as Ichigo non-stop just gets boring, it's the main reason why out of ALL the Bleach games, 3rd Phantom is the one I've played the most despite it's flaws, it's just so much more interesting to see a completely different side to the plot, focusing more on the interactions within Soul Society rather than jumping the Karakura Wagon with non-stop battles.
Heh, yah... I admit first Fujimaru's Speed Shikai did look bit weird, but then realized it is just *Pata* with axe-blades on wrist and katana-blade instead of the usual edge. Matsuri's Power Type meanwhile? Would not want to be in receiving end of that thing! O_O'
I think the ability to change types when you go Bankai is very valuable. It means you aren't at an innate disadvantage against anybody Unfortunately for me I like the defaults more than the alternative options, LOL
Also, not a good game? I think the mechanics are solid, especially for an older game. The only significant flaws it really has are things it couldn't control, like where it ended with the story. They could only go so far when the game came out, as the series was still ongoing.

From what I've heard, if you majority complete the Bankai training, then you get an alternate final training mission and in the battle you get a unique Shunko Awakening image when they face their sibling/Seigen rather than the Bankai or no awakening. Does anyone have these images recorded?
My friend, you must learn the art of grinding. I know this comment's three years old, but excessive utilisation of Free Battle is immensely useful for making the levels of any used character skyrocket. Actually, I get quite annoyed when a turn-based game DOESN'T allow grinding. Completely throws off my strategy.

u have to download a emulator i use drastic ds emulator,once u have an emulator download bleach the third phantom rom and u can play it on mobile that way

your missing something fail one of the training section will deny you a bankai and will end up giving you shunko instead.

To get Shunko, you just have to neglect or fail a Bankai training session. Easiest way to find the images is probably just to play it yourself
