Glad to have y'all back again, but totally understand that real life comes first. Excited for what y'all have in store in the future! The position of the Boffin is definitely interesting, since I feel like it's got some aspects of Summoner (a hard comfortable ability does not mean you are confirmed) and some of Pit Hag (since the evil team gets access to Good abilities), but I definitely see the fact that the minion itself doesn't get to do much with this ability. Both Summoner and Boffin I think were very good additions to Minion options. And I'll be doing my part to break the Pit-Hag meta!
Not sure why the godfather is 2 tiers below the baron .. you learn the outsiders.. you get a possible game accelerator.. you get extra bluffs and game state info... godfather is sooo useful for script construction, too Love this stuff! Keep it up.
I think that’s a fair question. I mentioned in the episode how the Godfather’s strategic options are split depending on whether you get the +1 or -1 outsider variant. The extra kill can be beneficial but its unpredictability makes it somewhat unreliable at either its death confusion function on BMR or as an acceleration mechanism. So its flexibility is a vulnerability that really limits its strategic options in my opinion.
I think part of it is in my mind godfather is too much jack of all trades master of none whereas baron does it’s one thing really well. More choice doesn’t equal more strategic depth, a theme that would come up if acknowledged nerf monkey’s existence. Godfather is weirdly limited by doing too many things and none of them as well as its closest comparators-it’s limited at game acceleration because it’s so conditional, it’s limited at knowledge because it’s knowledge is so narrowed, it’s limited at outsider framing because either evil is bluffing outsider in a -1 or the cost of getting a outsider executed is confirmation, etc. It’s got more tricks than baron, but less space to explore them
Completely agree with milk that it's potentially viable and valuable to wait a day as psychopath. Figuring out who to kill is a lot freakin harder if no one will share anything with you.

I’ve been loving your content and ss a newer storyteller who doesn’t actually play that much I’ve been trying to consume lots of content to help with preparation. One small request, on these tier list episodes could you read the ability of the character as you begin discussing it? I know most of the base 3 scripts but a lot of the experimental characters are new to me. I also realize that maybe I’m not your target audience, and don’t worry about it, I’ll keep listening anyway!
I think it's just natural to them as they made episodes about most of them, they played them so much and you can easily find them on the wiki. Feels fine to me that I have to look them up while they talk
As with last week we’d love to hear what you think we got wrong! We are considering inviting some guests on once this project is finished for them to tell us what we got wrong.
