    My mop works fine but the little black nipple had come off and I wasn't sure where it went to so my mop was leaking. When you took the cap off I saw the little black nipple on the inside of the cap and put it back on so now my mop doesn't leak anymore. Thank you sir for your video even though it was for a different problem you helped me out. 😁👍🏻👏🏻

    I called O Cedar a few years ago and they told me to soak the nozzle and to flush out the spray area of the mop with hot water after every spray. What a hassle! Worked for awhile but clogged again. They sent me a new mop...twice! They know of the design issue but many years later and they still haven’t fixed it. But the drill thing sounds a charm. Thanks will try.
    Update: did not try the drill thing. They now have a new design and they sent me one free of charge. It doesn’t clog but the container is smaller and does allow the liquid to sometimes splash out the back if you push too aggressively while mopping. The new mop head / cover is now much wider to cover more floor and has the ability to flip over when one side gets too dirty. Pretty cool. It also comes with an extra mop head.
    Great company that certainly listens to and takes care of their customers.
    Update:
    Do not like new model because it’s heavy and just not as easy to mop with. I called and asked if they had any icy he old models and she said no they were all destroyed. I did keep one of my old ones and just use it with my own spray bottle to spray the floors then mop. Much easier to handle. I recycled the two new ones they sent and sold the new mop heads on eBay. They just didn’t work for me.

      You must have reached them on an exceptional occasion. I'm on my FOURTH O-Cedar that won't spray and they do NOT care. They want photos of all angles AND the receipt. Now WHERE did I put the grocery store receipt from 9 months ago? 🙄

    My mop is made by OCedar, but looks just like this. Drilling it didn't work because the nozzle spins at the same time. So, I heated up an ice pick and basically melted a hole through the center. Yes, it now works. Thanks for the tip. You saved me from buying a new mop.

    I used your idea but with a twist.
    No drill? Place a nail setter over the center hole and give it a few taps with a hammer until it snaps back. The center stays in place but gets a lot looser, allowing the cleaning fluid to come out.

    In my case, i had to unscrew the bolts and clean the pushing mechanism. The pusher which receives the pressure from the stick wasn't coming back after using the trigger, so you get a loose trigger/short press feeling. I guess its normal being plastic. You'd need a rubber in there to stop friction and allow free movement, but there's no way to open that thing without breaking it. I rinsed it with normal Dawn dishwasher and it works great again. Probably better not to use hard water on it. Filtered water and light detergent ratio may do the trick long term.

    The latest version we just bought is so cheaply made that after assembly some plastic pieces broke and the 2-piece hollow shaft easily comes apart again, thus all of the internal tolerances are lost. I'm thinking, dollar stores will probably carry them when Vileda/OCedar is finally done with it.

    Thank you for this video. It helped me understand it was that circular extedable piece that clicks in that was the problem (the part you drilled out). However, I don't have a drill so all I did was take a flat head screwdriver and wedge it in between the extendable circle thingy and its frame rather than drill drill through it. I went around a couple of times without actually removing the circle thingy and it miraculously started pumping again!

    Mine stopped spraying because the o ring on the outside of the nozzle fell off when I was refilling it and I didn’t see when it happened. Without the outer o ring, all your spray liquid just fills up the red cone of the mop instead of coming out the nozzle. It had suddenly stopped working and I didn’t know why until after watching all these videos and realizing that I do remember an o ring on the nozzle. After wondering where I would get a new one and how long it had been missing, I looked in the cluttered sink and there it was in my sink strainer as it had fallen off just now.

    I have a Rubbermaid Reveal and the bottle cap looks very similar to the one shown in the video. The spring loaded stopper and its housing were simply press fit into the cap. I depressed the stopper with a screwdriver and slapped the handle to pop the whole mechanism out of the cap. I assume this would be easier than drilling it out.

    • @LLNYRN
      @LLNYRN 4 года назад

      I have the OCedar version. I decided to use the screwdriver technique to pop out the entire spring mechanism. Now it sprays out liquid the way it's supposed to. You just have to load the bottle right-side up into the mop. I'm just leaving the filled bottle in to see if any liquid seeps out.

    Mine was leaking a little bit from the start. Then eventually stopped spraying completely. Same problem as my Hudson sprayers. The plunger that the wand is connected to needs grease for a better seal. Remove the bottle, remove the four screws holding wand, remove the cap over the plunger and grease the o-ring fixed.
