THEY caused the decline in living standards and deserve to be continually reminded of this fact! Honesty, decency and integrity in public office matters.....as does a non-selective memory!!!
It is so sad that a high number of these Tory MPs received the best of education that money can buy, and yet they show no signs of embarrassment at asking questions like these. Makes people like me wonder in amazement.
True that people can apply for pension credit, if they know how. What about those who are ineligible for pension credit but who will suffer as a result of the removal of the allowance? Have you thought about them? Now we have a 4 year investigation into social care. Another way of looking like Labour is doing something without actually doing anything, except paying a few people a lot of money. Really kind. Not.
I did not need the winter fuel payment. It is unfair to people on their own who have to pay rent and council tax , then their food.what they could have done was 1 payment per pensioner household not per person.
Yes they could but that would still have meant some very well off pensioners would have still received it, while other poorer pensioners did not. What they should have done is set the limit higher and ensured those who are ill could receive it.
It is cheaper to administer a universal benefit, rather than means testing, and nobody slips through the cracks. Some people who don’t need it will get it but they can always give it back if they want it or give it to a worthy cause. Billions of pounds are spent on wars but British people say nothing and want to take a few quid off old people because a few rich people might get it. SMH. 😅
It always amuses me the way you criticise the opposition they have no power.I can only assume that like the rest of us you don't have anything good to say about the ruling Labour government
Stop bloody talking and throwing stones. It's old and we get it. We also won't forget Labour putting an extra 100,000 people into poverty by removing the winter fuel subsidy. We want a government which cares about everyone.
Your figure is speculative. It was a figure released by the department for Work and Pensions in a report full of caveats - including that it takes into account no other policy changes and is only rounded to the nearest 50,000.
And we won’t forget the Tories for inflicting austerity on people when there was no need. Running public services into the ground. Wasting billions on giving PPE contracts to their mates who either didn’t supply it or if they did it was no good. Why is it that people want to forget it? Though by your response, you don’t get it.
@@politicsoftheuk You know this how? Because I'm against the removal of the fuel subsidy? This makes me not care about the poor? You assume incorrectly.

cynical tory oozing arrogance acts like God almighty now not in government leaving others to clean up her excrement.
Well said ,Pat .

A good bloke
The Ts did this under Maggie. Went on about 70s strikes at Longbridge whenever they were held to account.
Soo lazy.
The uni party have caused the continuing fall in living standards

The tories didn't cause misery. They were living on a different planet at the time!😂
Watching this channel you’d think Labour was doing a good job!😂😂😂

Well, you don't care about poor people in general anyway.
