I highly recommend Lock Laces boot laces for any liner that can use laces. They seem to be the most durable elastic lace I have found. I'm pretty sure almost any arts and crafts type store will sell 2mm adhesive foam sheets for replacement souls. I got some 2mm adhesive eva foam sheets for less than $2 per sheet.
Love the insight. I'm a huge fan of my Faction Tacticals. Coming from the 909, I thought the stealth soul plate preformed similar as far as locking the soul. The groove was definitely a learning curve, but it didn't take long to adjust. I'm excited to try the v1 souls!
Bought the whites after seeing how much you enjoyed your first pair of Factions and I haven't been disappointed! I did have similar feelings on the soul plate groove placement, I want to switch to the black but just love the way the blue looks too much. I also snapped the pull string on the liners but mine snapped in the second week 😂. Great skate overall though.
You should definitely do a video on how to (safely) fall. You take some big ones (height wise especially), but don't seem to get hurt much, or not as seriously as someone could with those falls.
I *LOVE*my Factions. (Got a pair of the black set back in July). And prompltly heat molded them after taking them out for an initial skate. Definitely worth heat molding! Just cruising around right now, but i can't wait to start aggressive with them soon. Im right handed, but left foot dominant, at least for cruising. Very curious to see what foot is dominant for aggressive.
I've been eyeing these for a while and feel like Id share the same complaint with the "updated" plates that I do with my AP FR's plates. After a handful of boot-down tricks the plates wear down quite a bit and round off enough to basically an inch-ish left of the plate which makes soul tricks rather difficult. Ive been contemplating trying to fit a Sway plate on them or another that doesnt taper in the rear. A questionable design if you ask me
I'm Goofy... been for 25 years of skateboarding. Now at age 51 (started inline skating 3 years ago) I tend to do frontsides right footed and backsides with my left foot in front... Dunno why though
I asked Clark about that earlier this week. He said if they do make a white skate again it will be in a different colorway and there is no ETA on when or if it happens. White/Red or White/Green would be pretty sick imo.
So you've downsized now from the black ones you had? Would you get mondo based on the liner measurement or the inner shell measurement knowing what you know now?

Thanks for this Ben. I love the v1 soulplates on my shredpools and the backslide groove. Gonna stick with them for a while.
