Everyone, please note: this video is filmed 95% on bike/on saddle/in high speed!! Qudos David, for giving such detailed review mostly out of breath for our entertainment. And must say this is usual i stuff in this channel's videos! Few youtubers do so, they ride and edit the video...So one more plus for this channel. Now reg. this Wilier, it surely looks and goes fast, but I would vote/go for a Diverge or Topstone, the seam so FUN-bikes for casual riders like us. Even a Crux Comp would be a better value, from my humble POV.
I still remember you reviewing the 3T Exploro RaceMax with the same complaints. Then the shop I work at started carrying them and I got to test ride one and realized how amazing it is with its low BB and really short chain stays. I slapped some 650b wheels on it and I can run 47mm wide tires no issues and it's smooth AND fast! Such a game changer. I imagine these bikes (Willier and Pinarello gravel entries) would be incredible with a 650B upgrade and some meaty rubber.
i own a very similar bike, the ridley kanzo fast. I don't see them as gravel bikes, more like a road bike+. you are more flexible than with a road bike and you can ride paths that a road bike is not suitable for. But in the end it all depends on what you want to use the bike for.
I rode from Welshpool to Shrewsbury and one of the climbs was so steep I couldn't keep traction - it had rained the night before and drizzled that morning. This bike would have been perfect. Also, can you post a link to these trails? I cannot find Ancient Forest Way or whatever the locals call this.
This bike matches to the latest gravel Pinarello. They have their own category. Fast expensive aero ish gravel bikes for real USA gravel road on flat roads and none of this uk muddy bmx type nonsense roads.
Does seem a missed opportunity with tire size or lack of, my bike has similar clearance but it’s from 2018 and times have changed! Have to say I do still find it adaptable since bike packing etc is highly unlikely, and with the gravel bike I tend to do mixed rides linking stuff up. Ie sort of rides my MTB sucks at! Where as when it gets much more technical it flys up/down stuff you have to pick your way through. Saying that got my best time up the rocky track on the ridge above Talybont on it, recently! I must of stopped for photos/look at the views previously or simply not ridden fast? as that sort of rocky climb is generally where the MTB shines and the Gravel sucks!
I think the Wilier Jena is way better in every aspect and way underrated, a serious gravel bike with a very stiff frame for the wattage heroes, very good geometry and reactivity. It also has aerodynamic shapes on the fork and downtube, and you can carry what you want. Way better all rounder

Smooth gravel in the UK... try the New Forest. I'd estimate there must be getting on for 200km of permitted trails.
Officially: "more than 100 miles"
I mean the Ivan Slik won the 2022 Unbound on the bike so I think it qualifies.
Nice bike, but with the limited tyre size, I'd actually classify it as an 'All Road+' bike.

Fosse Way.

What model Fizik saddle on the Rave??
have you tried Kanzo Fast as well? How do they compare? Thanks!
Not yet!
what gearing option had this bike? 40, 9-42?

can you do review of supersix evo se ride quality
as soon as I get my hands on one I will :)
This or the pearson?
Very similar use case to the Crux but you were much more negative here. Are they not similar?
The Crux has much bigger tyre clearance, better geometry and it’s a smoother ride
@@davidarthur thanks!
David, if it’s good for Unbound 200, it should be good for gravel

The sign at 01:38 reveals what he REALLY thought about this bike's speed. We all know that he put it there for a reason!
I don’t know what is it… the only thing I know is that it’s sexy AF
That lumpy bit though !!! where the top tube meets the seat tube. Ugly
Too expensive
That's not Gravel!
