If someone does make a prideful comment, it is almost always light hearted in nature. I lived in NYC for much of the 80s and most NYers believe that the world revolves around them, again, most of those statements are made out if jest, ditto for California and so on… Texans are a proud and great people who love their state, not a damn thing wrong with that, if they want to boast, more power to them.
