If you watch throughout the match you can hear and see Reuben telling the players to be more aggressive and direct them when they're making mistakes. Happens with Evans and Casemiro which is why they start pressing up about 20-30 minutes in. Casemiro specifically I saw in another video is looking back at the coach so i assume he was telling him in most likely portugese that he's gotta be higher. They need a ball carrier in the midfield. I think the Mainoo Ugarte is gonna be a good pairing. Once everyone is match fit it'll be a lot lot lot better
Problem is Mainoo isn't very good in winning the ball back or pressing. Mainoo is more comfortable receiving the ball and attacking like i see him more as an Attacking Midfielder than a Defensive Midfielder just look at the Goals he scores, i think he should be closer to Goal than to Onana.
@@armaddreadchronicles116 well he showed he can do that season but I he's a good pairing coz he's better with ball progression than Ugarte so Kobbie's defensive weaknesses will be covered by Ugarte

@@randperson7692Your understanding of football is pretty low. In a football pitch there are three major positions the backline, Midfield and Attack and most of these positions usually have 3/4 players. Today most Teams play from the back meaning if your attackers don't press and put pressure the ball will go forward unchallenged creating opportunities for your opponent. Now if the attackers are only three like Man UTD the two 10s and number 9 who is Rashford, who decides he can't press it becomes a 4 v 2 that makes it so easy for the opposition backline to progress the ball forward. The reason why Klopp beat Pep more times than any other manager is simply because his Teams understood this and never allowed Man City or Bayern to get comfortable or start passing from the back unchallenged.
@@armaddreadchronicles116you don’t have to try and insult the dude. You said “track back” and he questioned it. Then you insulted him and said that Rashy didn’t press. Which is a) not true and b) not what you were talking about. So settle down with the know it all bullshit.
You obviously watch football by only following the ball. Rashford made some tremendous runs into space, only to find that he now has team mates who can’t make a simple well timed pass, with the exception - in this game at least - of Amad.
Man United struggled progressing the ball through the centre of the pitch. The double pivot needs to be staggered at times so one of the centre backs can fire a pass into them and they can then play a bounce pass back. Casemiro and Eriksen didnt show enough willingness to take the ball under pressure and were basically marked out of the game. Thats why Evans, Mazraoui and de Ligt had so many touches. Ipswich were comfortably allowing the centre backs have the ball and closed down the centre of the pitch. Bruno should have dropped deeper to offer a passing option too. Rashford and Garnacho also have to be doing better. Sometimes I felt Man United were playing with 9 men. The double pivot is probably the most important part this system because going forward they have to press and building up they have to offer themselves as passing options under pressure. Who can play in the pivot that can take the ball under pressure? Probably Mainoo and maybe Ugarte. Credit to Ipswich though. They played really well and deserved to win. They really frustrated United and made the centre backs pass side to side. If it wasn't for Onana we would have lost. Great analysis and video as usual! 💯👍 💥
spot on, we need guys in the center of the pitch that are willing to take the ball under pressure, willing to take responsibility of making things happen in the most congested areas. the Modric, Xavi or Rodri types that have their hands out demanding the ball despite 2-3 opposition players around them. doesn't matter if its a 6, 8, or like modric has 10 on his back. just needs that characteristic of being willing and able to link play in congested areas
Really good video. I think one of the biggest things Amorim learned was the physicality and intensity of the Premier League, even (often especially) at the bottom, and that the current United squad isn't built to match that intensity. Amorim may be able to put together a starting 11 that can compete, but the bench options in case of injury won't likely be able to match it. Amorim well need to find workable combinations until the squad can get refreshed.
Well, Rashford for one can't be the Main Striker. He added nothing to the game beyond the goal. The front line improved alot more and forced more turnovers when Hojlund came on. Another option beside Mount who could also be good as the link up player in the Inside Forward role is Zirkzee. He does have the ability to link play and carry the ball forward. Bruno I think can be used in the deep pivot as he was moved there in the 2nd half after Eriksen and Casemiro came off. He has the ability to play the defense splitting passes or balls to the flanks. Though i do prefer him further up because he does make high risk passes which can be quite dangerous if it doesn't come off.
In the previous video i commented about some of the things you're talking about. Personally I think how well Amorim does will depend on how well he cane hone and use Amad
Seems like the people really thought Amorim was going to fix this mess of a club immediately. The pl fans keep thinking the manchester united situation its exclusively on the manager. Actually its a deeper situation and its obvius at this point.
The boss commented on most of this even before the first match. The switch won't be because he made a mistake the lineup was based on protecting certain players and also allowing the ones chosen to learn the system. You'll see all those players again, not the same lineup though.
He does not need to make any changes to his system. He just needs the right personnels to execute it. Simple as that. Replace Trashford, Garnacho, Fraudnandes, Casefinito, Erikshit, Evans, and Dalot with Rasmus, Mount, Ugarte, Mainoo, Amass, Yoro and Licha and you’ll see the difference.
I’m more concerned about the players we need to move on for better signings At least 4 are obvious Eriksen Casemiro Evans Shaw Malacia We need stability (not injury prone) and physicality +pacy players
I think bruno fernendes is to direct to play in one of the pivots and he does not have the ball carrying ability to play as one of the 10, also marcus rashford i never want to see him play striker again. and AJ we told you johny evans as one of the wide centerbacks doesnt work. and this team looks so unfit
Just on the Evans point, I never said that he "should" play lcb, just that I thought he "would" Hopefully Amorim will have some different solutions available soon
We don't have fit and agile players. for now my xi will be. Onana, shaw/martinez, de ligt, yoro, garnacho, mainoo, ugarte, amad, mount, bruno, Hojlund. Amad did well in the wing back role. he's young and can easily be moulded, same goes for garnacho. when amad and garnacho can't run up and down you can sub them for dalot, mazouroui, malacia etc
United’s strongest 11 - Onana, Yoro (RCB) De Ligt (CB) Martinez (LCB) Ugarte (6) Bruno (8 - plays better deeper and can make the passes he wants to make), Shaw/Garna (LWB) Mount (RWB) Amad and Mainoo (the two 10s - they are the two best players we have in tight spaces and with the right work rate and creativity for this position) and Hojlund (9).
I don't think it's really fair to say that some of the players that wasn't having a good game in their positions shouldn't play in that position going forward, You gotta remember they have only had a few practice sessions and they don't know where their teammates are at all times, and they are not fully sure where they are supposed to be at all times. So Evans and Casemiro might not be too slow. They might just have been hesitant. So they could potentially play those roles when the system is a bit more settled.
Exactly. Amorim won’t play the same eleven. Evans had one bad game this year. Otherwise he’s been quite good. Only 4 or so players showed they should be playing. Let’s see the rest of the squad and who else wants to be in starting lineup.
Good stuff as always, man. I think De Ligt wasn't playing to Case and Eriksen because they weren't really showing for the ball in a clear way. I agree with you that they don't trust them either. But I kept watching for Eriksen or Case to drift or make a run into space and they just never did. So static.
The first Evans-Shaw work comparison its not fair, the 2nd half the Ipswich team dont do the pressing like the 1st half, Evans take the hard one and for me Shaw is more covered with Ugarte in the midfield, no like Evans with Casemiro who never runs and cut with or whitout foul
The problem is on the left, dalot, rashy, garnacho and bruno, they thinks they are the only ones playing. None of them can dribble, pass, head, shoot properly and their game management is wack, always playing to direct
I haven't actually seen Carragher's coverage yet, was going to watch it before the Champions League games tonight. Did he say similar things to what I've said here?

Amorim need to stop the constant backpassing to the goalkeeper, the United players passed the ball back to Onana over 20 times in the game. No other Premier League team does that nonsense.
Is easy to break this 3-4-3! look how the WINGERS of IPSWICH are pushing the wingback´s up to the pitch, forcing UNITED do a back five. Ipswich have 2 winger and striker holding five players on the back, this gives numeric advantage por Ipswich in the build up 7 against 5 or 8 (with GK) against 5! In the first game of Amorim is was found out, this system doesn't work in PL. The only time United can recover the ball is with is back line! Carragher saw the space but didn´t saw the wingers and the striker making the space for a easy build up! 3-4-3 have good things but have very bad thing, is not a balanced system imo!
I think two key players will be playing out of position in this system, Amad and Mainoo. Mainoo isn't good at pressing or winning the ball back in fact i think that's his weakness and he is surprisingly very slow. I'm with Paul Scholes i see Mainoo as an Attacking Midfielder just look at the Goals he scores i think Mainoo should be closer to goal than to Onana he's so press resistant and unlike Bruno, he sees the through pass and runs and in front of Goal he just never misses. We should have sold Bruno Fernandes, bought a central Midfielder and made Mainoo our new 10. The second player Amad Diallo, this is another player i think should be nowhere near Onana just go back and watch the 91st/92nd minute when he effortlessly dribbled past Ispwich players and almost scored the winner. Amad Diallo isn't a defensive winger that 10 role cutting in from a slightly wide position is where he needs to be just ask Sunderland fans. Rashford can't dribble anymore, Garnacho can't dribble, Antony can't, Mount can't, Amad is the only real dribbler we have in the Team so what's he doing defending accommodating players who can't create Space?
With respect, I don't think that Amorim needs you or other RUclipsrs to tell him that playing Evans as the left-sided CB and Casemiro and Eriksen as the dual 6s didn't work as he changed all three of them in the 2nd half. His main problem is that he is short of four or five players who will fit into his system, Evans, Maguire, Casemiro, Eriksen, Dalot, Rashford, and Garnocho don't have the pace, stamina and footballing intelligence.
