And what you just talked about Gabe is exactly why I ignore 99% of everything I see and read on the various Discus forums talking about how difficult it is keeping wild caught Discus. Again, the myth is de-bunked. Thank you Gabe and keep the vids coming.
I’ve had discus before, now I’m back keeping them again, just found these films on RUclips. Love watching them keep the films 🎥 coming Gabriel 👍🏴
Mr.Posada, As a Discus fish lover I've only been following you for a short while, but I have to say thank you for continuing to share your hard-earned experience with us. Respect.
@@Luccon You’re somewhat correct. However, my lack of larger-sized tanks would disagree with you🥴. When I finally keep Discus, I prefer tanks larger than 55-ideally, 125 or more. In my opinion, they should be given a chance to grow to their fullest potential size.
Thanks again Gabe for another great teaching session. I always learn more from you each time. Someday Wild Heckles! I’m going to try them🏆❤️soon Ps absolutely love the rummy nose tetras you sent and cardinals… such big stable sizes… not tiny and no one beats the prices including shipping… I did the math. Such a great healthy deal for my tanks! Thank you.
Dr Gabe, can you do the difference between all the wild discus. Which are the best? I was told the single strip was the most sort after than those have more stripes.
These wilds are exceptional Discus for sure. 👍 Now I don’t mean this as a criticism in any shape or form, but tell me if those kind of numbers, 3,4,5 + 6 hundred wild Discus, and that’s just what you receive, taken from the Amazon river and their contributory rivers, how can that be sustainable, or is it just seasonal collections (licensed or not) 🤷♂️
@@JackWattleyDiscus Thanks Gabe! I'm just waiting for my sump to arrive. I ordered 15 hybrids a few months ago from you for the 135g. They are doing great with lots of growth. Looking forward to the wilds
Gabe would love your thoughts - why are wild discus still being caught? With so many captive bred varieties, why do we still pull discus out from their wild habitats. I imagine most perish and don't make it (?).
Gabe will have best answer…but here’s my 2 cents…I believe it’s the genetic purity of the line. Many aquarium species are being kept alive -existing because of alert aquarists. (Example rainbow fish from New Zealand). With gold mining and deforestation happening all over the world many fish species have already been lost. These pure discus lines are preserved by aquarists who know the dangers posed by “civilization.” Aquarium keepers = caretaker preservationists.
Wild fish actually help the locals in the region live and survive. They take care if the environment and water ways because it's their source of living. Pulling wild fish from the rivers also helps keep the rivers in check. If we want to support this hobby we all should be buying more wild fish
I love the care that Wattley takes with their wild discus but it does make me a little sad to see them ripped out of the river. Lets hope they don't get farmed to instinction.
Dear Gabe so glad to hear you mention 84 86 temp. Been seeing a " fad" of people thinking they can be healthy at 80. Thank you.
Have mine at 82.0 82.6 is they are thriving

This was very enlightening. I'm not yet ready for Discus, but even after 9 years of fishkeeping, more knowledge is indeed power.
Honestly Discus keeping isn’t any harder than normal fish keeping. If you want them get them it’s very rewarding

In the video Gabe said a 20% water change. Is that daily or weekly?
If you follow the rule of one Discus per 10 gallons of water. One 20% is enough weekly.
I'm getting ready to do a big order of those wilds for my 240g
We have plenty

Hi Gabe, can you make clip about raising discus without parents ( hatch in egg tumbler )
You cannot hatch discus eggs in tumbler.
@@JackWattleyDiscus so can raising discus fry without parents ?
Great video 👍
You are the BOSS..!!!!
Love you videos! Keep it up :)
Salve , quindi mantenendo questi parametri che lei cita come un ibrido si può tenere anche un selvatico!! 😮 questa è una bella cosa... grazie 😊
Awesome fish
Can I purchase some wild discus for my tank. What will be the price? I m from India

How to eliminate anti-chlorine without preparations
Awesome
I bet it is the Astacolour tropical. That is the only flake food that my discus go nuts for!
OG
Por favor también en español
I've wanted discus for so long but my water is 7.8 and about 20dGH, so pretty much liquid rock
Más videos en español!! 😅😅😅
Facility Tour ?
Soon

And by the way my wild discus eat everything I throw them in the aquarium. Whatever the brand. I can't say the same about Asian discs anymore.
If you don't believe me ask a marine biologist!
6 minute video 3 minutes of self advertising Come on Gabe 🤔
No one's making you watch, much less charging for this. Don't like it don't watch it. Plain and simple.
Gabe Posada
Did you know.....touching the fish with your hands damages there slime coat, thus causing infections. Please don't touch the fish!
Probably he knows better the fish than you do, fella
