The first situation is infuriating. The young man is trying to build himself up by making a living rebuilding his community thats in desperate need of help, and people threaten the young mans life! Hopefully the young mans investments pay off and he can move on to greener pastures.

This. People who are mad at the wrong people assume squatting is a victimless crime and that every abandoned property is owned by multi-million dollar real estate agencies and banks.
The truth is a lot of these properties are owned by people just like that guy. Someone who saved up to buy a property and who is working to fix the house up, putting in their own time and money, in hope that maybe one day it will be a worthwhile investment.

That’s because you pay bills and they don’t, if you work and live in a house for free it’s a lot easier to buy nice furniture, you’re definitely doing better than they are, especially since the guy who owns the house just got all the stuff for himself and they won’t ever be there again, there’s gotta be another person staying there though that wasn’t there for the arrest, that first room was to clean for any of the people that got caught, that house had so many rooms though, really weird set up almost like a boarding house

In too many places, once a squatter gains entry, the laws make the home owner go to court, prove he's not renting the place out, and that could take a month, then eviction could take another month, then 10 more days for them to move out. And that's the shortest time limit. I've heard of some evictions that took 2 or 3 years.

I hate to say it but I was a squatter at one time. I was 15 years old and my home life was terrible and I ran away from home. I hitch hiked from Philly and eventually ended up in Tampa, FL. I had only the clothes on my back and lived on food from dumpster diving. Oh and way too many grapefruits from the surrounding groves. I found an abandoned home in a not so nice neighborhood but the water was still in. I lived in that house for about 3 months going in and out of a bathroom window. I was so scared I was going to get caught or someone would hurt me. I don’t think I slept very well the whole time I was in there due to fear and the oppressive heat of summer and no AC. Fortunately I had fake ID and was able to get a job that enabled me to rent a room.
After a year and a half I turned 17 and returned home. My parents signed enlistment paperwork for me to join the Navy. Again I was so lucky that the Navy wasn’t requiring a HS diploma to join cause I only made it to the 10th grade. Joined the Navy, continued my education and probably this year will retire from a career in Naval Aviation. I own my own home, both my children do as well. A loving family and I volunteer extensively with the homeless because I was in their shoes at one time. I know what it’s like to fight a possum for a day old box of donuts. I am so blessed.

I worked in mental health and once had to step between a female officer and a 14 yr old naked female standing just outside her own bathroom, a girl who was fully developed physically but could not communicate. When she stomped her foot in anger at six cops for disturbing her peace, I suppose (because she did not have any measurable mental capacity) a female cop was bringing her revolver up but before she cleared leather I stepped between her and the girl and raised my arms shouting "No guns! I really dislike squatters. We had to deal with some on our property. It took nearly 3 months to get them out---and the whole time they lived in their RV next to our cabin. He messed with the power pole, messed with our water, caused leaks, stole stuff out of our car and SUV, he was always trying to look in my home, making snide remarks, having violent fights in the middle of the night with his girlfriend, and selling meth. I lived in fear that whole time. He got paid to haul people's junk from their homes and he stacked it behind a fence he had put up and left it all behind when he moved. The man behaved so entitled. He behaved as if we were the intruders. It was so bad it got my heart acting up and I had a light stroke. It was horrible.

My X husband was staying in my house because i felt bad for him as he was at the time homeless. His room got so disgusting that i politely asked him to leave. He then announced to me that he had Squatter's Rights and wasn't leaving and laughed in my face. He absolutely destroyed his room and the furniture in it. Bottles of pee everywhere. He left, thank goodness a few weeks later. He quickly found out that Squatters Rights only applies to abandoned property in my state. He needed more help than I could give and i made sure he got it but it was a rocky road. Some of these people really do need help.

Glad you got rid of him. He could've said, "you can't make me leave without an eviction notice". At least in my state if you allow someone to stay in your home and later won't leave you have to give them a 30 day notice to vacate. Then you have to wait until after 30 days to get the eviction notice served.

❤ God bless you. Some people do need help even though it's hard. Just keep your boundaries and safety. There's no easy answer to homelessness and mental breakdowns or no one would be homeless like this. We need to support those taking the hard task of intervening... Not shun them. Prayers your blessed, we need more people like you. Stay safe though. ❤🙏🏻😊❤️

Me and my mother were in active addiction and homelessness together. I did have a warrant. My mother got social security because she had just gotten diagnosed with leukemia a couple years before. A group of other druggies pretended to be her friend, got us into their home to “help us out” got me arrested and used her for her check. She just got her liscense this year, and this happened more than five years ago. They would only take her to get her life saving medicine in exchange for her little ss card. They would leave her dope sick and feed her dope in exchange for the check. (no excuse for doing heroin but she does have leukemia, she could never get pain meds while still in KY, so I have mixed feelings about it) Eventually they just kept her card and would not give it back. This happened until I got out of jail.
I’m clean now years later but she still struggles. I now have a stepdad at least. I may not like him but he does protect her at least now that we live four states apart.
THEY ARE USING THAT WOMAN FOR HER SS. That whole situation is so similar to the life me and mom lived except we are from Northern KY. Not too far from Dayton actually.

@@amaterasu8314well maybe if the government would stop funding wars in foreign countries, allowing illegals in, and subsequently paying for their entire lives (food, housing, phones, supplying them with cash) there would be enough for American citizens. Or perhaps not as, if there were money, corrupt officials would find a way to pocket it. It’s a shame honestly

@@amaterasu8314I agree with both points. Squatters should have some of their rights reduced because while we like to believe all squatters can’t afford housing so,d just choose to live this life. Obviously not all but alot of squatters take advantage. They know the laws and abuse that. But I also agree that a lot of squatters are just looking for housing because whatever life events made it to where they no longer can afford a home. These people tho seem to be taking advantage decorating and then pulling a gun on the owner. That’s insanity, in the first video
