  • Donald Fearney's 'The Legend of Hammer Vampires' Documentary Part One of Three.
LEGEND OF HAMMER VAMPIRES covers the whole history of Hammer films vampire classics...and some not so classic! From their first box office smash in 1958, with 'DRACULA / HORROR OF DRACULA' with Christopher Lee donning the cloak, through to the many Dracula sequels, to the spin off's of the Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu inspired 'The Vampire Lovers' with Ingrid Pitt, to the Karnstein trilogy, with 'Twins of Evil' with Peter Cushing, 'Lust for a Vampire' with Yutte Stensgaard, Ralph Bates and Mike Raven,. Other vampire entries get full coverage too like 'Vampire Circus' and the terrific, 'Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter'. The whole story is here, lavishly illustrated with rare production stills, interviews with the actors and directors, telling behind the scenes tales of how these Hammer Horrors were made. The Legend of Hammer vampires was Donald Fearney's first Hammer films documentary and the first time the whole story had been told, by the actors and people who were there. Christopher Lee, Caroline Munro, Jimmy Sangster, Christopher Matthews, Tudor Gates and many more relive the years, and share the tales. 'The Legend of Hammer Vampires' is still available commercially and sells on ebay, but we are very grateful, with Donald Fearney's blessing to present it here at the Peter Cushing Appreciation Society RUclips account, for you to view yourself, for free! Please remember to subscribe to our youtube account, give us a thumbs up if you enjoyed the documentary, leave us a comment too.

Apparently, Dracula was more handsome in sunlight? So I won't begrudge them that liberty they took with that.. It was a risk and it flopped (imo) but a good what if.

I was born in 1973 and was a kid when these were aired on repeat and had to beg and grovel to my mam to let me watch these way past my bedtime (9pm every single night lol) on the odd occasion she would let me and i savoured every moment then ran to my room terrified and hid under my blanket scared senseless, and will cherish the hammer films forever because of the amazing memories burnt into my mind ❤

Christopher Lee...will be for the best actor who played Dracula...his height, his face, his presence and personality gives him a character that no successor could have...HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO FEARED THE SPECTATOR..UNSURPASSED..
