I've cut my own hair for 12 years, I only had a couple of fails. I didn't start right off the bat cutting it short so those mess ups weren't noticeable, then once I was confident in blending I went shorter on the sides.

I like that he was transparent about how he failed for the first 8 years before he was able to accomplish what looked like a pretty decent haircut, but for everyone who hasn’t been doing that for as long as he has, it will definitely not come out as nice.
That’s a lie there people who been cutting hair for 6 to 7 yrs and can cut way better but the difference between this guy and the other guys is this guy not looking to be a barber or cut other people hair the other people are trying their best not only to cut there own hair but to cut other people hair too and do a way better job at it

I really wished he didn't go into the parietal ridge and make the sides roundish. The sides and back look so much better when they're squared or blocked in my opinion
Hey Chris, could you have a look at @theoneminutebarber He shows some really good tips for self cuts. That technique with going with the grain on straight hair works surprisingly well when you're blending the sides to the top. I have a number 1 at the sides, using a 2 guard and going down with the grain saved me 20 minutes on a self cut.
My friend has the same hair texture as the guy that you did in the vid, 2 days ago “This Was A Challenge...” but the hair of my friend is soo crispy that i cant get thu the .5 wahl premium guard, because everytime i go up with my clipper, the hair just moves up and curls even more, but it cant get thru the tooth of the .5 wahl guard. What would you give me as a tip? Btw, love you vids, all the way from The Netherlands!

No Chris i won't be sub on his channel, it looked ok from the front but sorry as a barber all other angles were pretty poor, 8 years to hone what was best on his hair wont work on other guys hair, I don't even think he would manage a cut on anyone else's hair trying it with this system, if you can call that a system. Not a bad video, not a great lesson for anyone to try much better trying what the pros do, at least that way you are doing it the correct way and eventually if you stick to it ot will eventually start to work... some click straight away... quite funny really that he thinks he can get away with this being a haircut from a barber or hairstylist 🤣🤣 full refund please.

The best tip for a self cut is to wash your hair and dry it before you start cutting. And always clean the canvas as you made and lighting is key.
