Water from the river Rhine/Rijn goes into the river IJssel filling the IJsselmeer. The water from the Rhine/Rijn comes from the Alps. All the way in Switzerland.
If you like more stuff from the Netherlands, watch boyan slat ocean clean up or stuff about dredging
Yes yes yes, must see what The Ocean Cleanup has “fished” out of the Pacific Ocean (between Hawaï and California) last week. Boyan Slat and his team are THE BEST!!!
A few hundred yards from my house is the river Maas and there are both sheep and cows roaming on the edge of the dikes. They live semi wild but they are taken care of and looked after. It's part of the water management
You can also grow other crops in the polders. I was born in the Haarlemmermeerpolder, once a huge lake between Haarlem and Leiden that people used to call Waterwolf, because it kept 'eating' land. On the east side is now Royal Floraholland, the largest flower auction in the world. There are also numerous nurseries there growing roses, lillies and other cut flowers. But most of the soil is used to grow potatoes and sugarbeets.
Ships were found a lot, our national airport is called schiphol (Ship hole), a lot of ships were found there and it is called after that.
Always interesting to see this.
The Tulip🌷🌷 Bulb Fields are truly beautiful⚘⚘ The Mills are also really big, also in the Mill it is interesting.
I've seen a lot.
Yes, the dikes are certainly important, I live on a dike, there you can still see the soundings in our village to see how high the water has been. Luckily this did not happen after 1916.
And I am a big cheese lover yummy😋
Thank You 📼👍
Great Video!!
The river is basically another place the Rhine to dump into. Part of the Nederrijn section.
The IJssel river is a branch of the river Rhine, that was formed between 1500 and 2000 years ago after an avulsion, a sudden natural change in the river course.
This is why places ask Dutch to help (for example the palm peninsula and world islands near Dubai)
wow................. enjoyning................ that's actually beautiful
There were ships uncovered but one of the most interesting things I think was they found a lancaster bomber from WWII that crashed when they were uncovering land. There is still a monument with a Lancaster's propellor in Dronten, Flevoland (It's called "Vliegersmonument Dronten" or "airgunners monument Dronten")

Some 120 bombers crashed in the then IJsselmeer, most of them with
full crew aboard....I would replace "cool" with tragic.
@@patverum9051 fair enough ..I meant interesting ..I thought the tragedy went without saying..
take a look at the construction of the Oosterscheldekering or also called the Storm Surge Barrier
We also border to France, the Caraïben island of St. Maarten.
The IJssel is one of the tributaries of the Rhine
You're cool :).....I like the way you react,....Big thumbs up from the Netherlands.
Try our food. We got a lot of dishes. Boerenkool, hutspot, hete bliksem and many more. Oh yeah.... We got patatje oorlog (war).
The amount of export of tulips and cheese is by comparence small when it comes to agriculture and scientific stuff though.
They are, after the U.S. the second large exporter in the world...
Watch Dutch Sustainability
Hha The Atlantions .good name .
Every time I walk or bike through my city in Flevoland, I'm amazed by the simple fact that it exists. While being 4/5 meter below sea level (also without any serious chance of it ever flooding. In fact, the south of the Netherlands has a higher chance of flooding while being above sea level. This is due to the fact that they have rivers, there are no rivers in Flevoland, for obvious reasons)
Gouda is tourist cheese.
IT cant stand up to Beemster or Stompetoren.
Yes the best cheese is Beemster !
@@yasminenatural6842 Yes I agree!
