Thank you soo much for your comments everyone! Remember that I like to use the tips in this video for twistouts that were set on wet hair (with gel or some kind of styler that provides a little hold.) Dry twistouts are a little different since they tend to start off fluffy and with less hold already lol. Have an awesome day!

Girl I have been using a slip for years.I love my slip, especially when I have a roller set in my hair, box braids or my senegalese twists. When I wore a sew in, I use to wrap my hair and my bonnet never fit ,so I use my old slip. People just looked at me crazy but my hair used to come out looking good.

Finally, I have not only found someone who has my hair, but can show me how to make my twists still look great. I have only been natural for almost a year, and this is the first time I have really been doing my hair. Thank you, Thank you!

Whenever I look at these natural hair videos no one's hair texture ever looks like mine. But yours does. I love the fact that there is no loud music playing in the background and you are not acting up for the camera. You are also not using 10 different products at same time. I am loving the look of your hair😀😀😀

Hi, I too have 4C hair and your tip about steam from the shower has truly worked for me. The trick is to control how much steam I get by keeping it capped until the last few minutes of my shower time. Too much steam will ruin everything! Also, haven't seen it anywhere on YT, but for me an ultra thin "cafeteria lady" hair net has been working like a charm to hold my short to medium twist out at night. Along with sleeping on a satin pillowcase, I am holding on to the definition. Re-twisting my hair nightly stressed my hair too much and caused breakage. Thanks for the tips!

Ok, I'm 7 years late, but OMG so many good tips in this video! I'm impressed by how many different looks you got out of the same twist out. I'm going to have to get my daughter to get up early enough to shower/"steam" her hair in the morning. I have been defeated so many times thinking her curls had died, but I see they may just need a morning revival.

Hi! thanks soo much for the tip! My hair is not dry at all :) I have tried misting my hair with water in the past and it really does nothing for the "look" of my hair. My hair texture does not naturally have a shine to it (common for 4c hair) so to add some I use things to create some :) My hair is usually it's shiniest on the 1st day of a twistout because it is the most stretched..once it starts to fro out, it loses the shinier look.

I also use the shower to lightly steam my hair but I still leave the bonnet on my hair. I also fluff my hair with oil on my hands the night Befor and that morning. This also help my edges to stay smooth. I also retwist my edges cause it tends to puff, that night. I use the same conditioner you use I use it to on the 3rd day. Your looks awsome!

Thanks! I don't think it's a lot of work at all :) Thre are just a few extra steps to take like having to wash it in twists or something lol. Other than that, I'm spending wayyyy less time on my hair now that it's natural :) Once my hair is fluffed in the morning, I'm good all day lol

I've found out that because 4C hair tends to shrink a lot, the light is unable to reflect off of it as it would straighter hair :) And that's what makes it appear duller. Healthy 4c hair does not have a high shine to it, it has more of a sheen lol. If I were to stretch my hair straight with my fingers it's shiny :) This is one thing I had to learn to accept with my fro lol. (Also sometimes the porosity level of your hair can effect the amount of shine you have.)

Most of the time I don't put anything on my hair in the shower :) sometimes I use a shower cap esp if I have twists or flexi rods in or something. Any time I dont want any water touching my hair I'll wear one

The steam loosens my hair from the packed state that its in when I wake up lol. I don't over do it with super hot water or anything :) You dont want too much steam lol. Also, keep in mind the products you have in your hair....for me this doesn't work well when I have a lot of glycerin products in my hair. For me, a gel with glycerin is fine but i usually dont

use product with glycerin other than that. I tend to use olive oil, avocado butter, a conditioner as a leave in that has no glycerin and a gel. If I use giovanni smooth as silk as my leave in my hair doesn't hold well but it will be soft lol

The slip reminded me of my childhood..lol..I used to wear my moms half slip and walk around like I had long flowing hair. Now I am glad to be wearing my beautiful afro texture hair. Live and learn!! LOL

I'm not going to knock your slip idea. If the creator of SPANX can do it so can YOU! Nicely done, love it AND your beautiful spirit. Hey, you are an innovator with that slip. Great idea!

Good deal on wearing the slip. I've got a few I haven't worn in years. Will definitely keep this idea in mind.
I also don't do too much with my twistouts in the morning. I definitely don't re-twist. Good to see your tips and tricks.

Helpful vid. Im def one of those people that re-twist. Its SO time consuming. Im gonna try your method when I choose to wear my hair out. I noticed after showering mines plumped up. But I never caught on til you just did it. Thx for sharing.
