      @@lailaisaidit2223 It does seem that all people do is criticize, but I think it's really that the negative takes a much bigger place in our brains. It is like a survival mechanism. Whenever I get criticism, I try to also remember positive things people have said about me, or things I've done that people have complimented. Evens it out.

    INFP - I'm afraid to be dependent on others and to be let down. I value my independence and being able to do my own thing when I want. I hate asking for things out of need, but I'll easily ask for something I could get or do myself, purely out of convenience. Not sure if that makes sense. You're right about freaking out on camera - I'd rather swallow a cactus than lose my composure in front of ppl. I also find myself really concerned about portraying the right image - I want to be looked at and admired, not looked at and judged harshly. I've never taken criticism well, but I'm working on that. I did before, but believe your own intuition. It works 👍 your subconscious can work for you sometimes, at least in my experience (tested as an INFP first time on IDRLabs). I know it sounds like some wishy-washy spiritual type shit. But, what I’m saying here is how it works, I often over-think and over-analyze everything, to the smallest details, and honestly; it actually sometimes creates problems for me.
      When you believe in yourself (I’ve actually tested this out in real life; social conversations, and decision making, etc.) you become more in tune with yourself and the actual information you have stored in you, and are able to actually use it effectively. It’s like when you over-think and doubt yourself, when it comes to decision making, you can actually end up making poorer decisions; but, if you just believe that you know what you are doing, and not Ti’ing in the moment, just Se’ing, it works 👍 sometimes, all you need is to take a breather and just go with the flow. Trust me.

As not knowing how the tribe feels about me has really bothered me, I would often guess about their feelings, often times getting it wrong. So instead of assuming this guy hates me, I would dig on myself and they would respond with their true feelings, "what no way dude!" Which would bring clarity or they would agree 😳 either way nit taking myself too seriously was the key and listening to others insight about myself has been fundamental in feeling comfortable in my own skin.

    Just check your forehead for a bruise and that is an exxj. YES! I am an introvert and my ESTJ manager is the worst thing that ever happened to me. Micromanaging, bulldozing over anyone they hate, and still finds the time to have the daily put downs while amping up the pressure. They literally came right out and told me I was the hardest person to get along with and anyone else in the world would be easier to get along with than me. All of this was right before they said they hate introverts and claim I am too hard to read because I am not outgoing like everyone else. 30% of all of the therapy I have been in since COVID is to deal with the abuse from this manager because I cannot find anything better yet. I have gotten cards and thank you's from people in different departments praising my work and how thankful they are for what I do. My manager is never satisfied and would watch me work myself into an early grave before going easy on me and giving me credit for what I do.

      I think essentially the IP does not KNOW what their value is from the perspective of the tribe, meaning their estimation may be much too high or also too low. They basically always feel perpetually uncertain about it and even feel super confident or super inconfident at the same time. This is the opposite of the EJ's which know exactly where they stand when it comes to the judgement of the tribe, which will problably a much more finetuned, grey, more neutral judgment in the middle whereas the IP will assume it's either black or white (very good or very bad).

Someone’s going to start some stupid drama over something unimportant. Gathering of small, close knit groups are cool, you get to actually connect. Gatherings larger than about 6 mean you cannot have any depth of interaction with everyone, so you either try to have to have brief, shallow interactions with all of them or exclude people to have decent interactions with only a part of the group. Or if you see them often, you can take turns who to prioritise.

    It's not that we walk around thinking we're awesome all day long. It's just that we have no idea how to accurately gauge our standing in society. And we see the effect that has on us and we try to check and correct it. We cant handle praise or blame responsibly. We either think everything is fine or we think we're the biggest idiot and piece of shit ever. We know that meeting the endless expectations and demands of the tribe is unrealistic for anyone and that much of the time those demands are unnecessary, unfair, illogical, immoral, harmful, selfish, stupid, bullshit ect. There is a cap to how much energy we can pump out and how much "yielding to the tribe" is practical, reasonable and fair to ourselves and even the people around us. The greater good isnt always what the masses demand and isnt always what's popular or what affects things on a larger scale. To us everything is nuanced and we just want to make sure we aren't part of the problem. It's not that we cant fit playing by the tribe's rules into our worldview it's just that we see where the tribe is going wrong and try to make sure we never become that. If that makes sense. Granted there are times where the selfish IxxP thing does apply but how the self vs tribe dynamic isnt always that black and white. I'm also not saying that your assessment isnt largely true because it is. It's just that there's more to the story. And yes I know, that's all according to my biases as a SC/PB Infp. We have to pay attention to pay to ourselves because we see all the people who aren't and all the damage its causing to the world around us. And again I feel the need to reiterate I'm not trying to make excuses I'm just trying to Te explain and give insight. For whatever it's worth to anyone.

And the fear comes from being looked at as an alien for asking stupid questions, being laughed and smiled at as if i'm dumb and don't know what i want and how to ask for stuff... This is THE MOST stupid thing anyone can do in my eyes. This led me to stay away from such things and lean towards online shopping like 95% Fuck them, they can laugh at their own stupidity in the mirror :D
    The other fear is being controlled and watched over, robbed of free time and forced into a routine with consistent checkups on my progress... this is just UGH! For Christ sake, leave me the fuck alone and let me concentrate and get the flow going naturally! If you want this task to be done as efficient and fast as YOU see it - you better off doing it yourself then. You won't have to check up on anything, you'll have your full control over it =)

I started realizing that a lot of this time alone was not super efficient, could be overly negative, and I got called out by Kendrick Uy (Male ENFP) for not telling people how I feel. I wasn't giving those emotional owie reports that sleep saviors are supposed to be able to do. It's been a wake up call.

The IxxPs going around thinking they're awesome thing threw me off initially, like Jerry Seinfeld. When I think about it I feel that's true of me, but I don't relate upon first hearing it because even though I like me, the tribe has historically not liked me so I've grown to have bad self-esteem around other people. I do run around with a bit of that EJ "I'm not good enough" when objective standards come into play, but you won't see my freakouts. You won't even see me cry or sweat if I can help it. But subtract the tribe from the situation and I do like myself quite a bit, so I want nothing to do with the tribe.

      I relate to your comment. Self typed as an INFP based on cognitive functions vs a test, but still trying to learn and understand OP. I did a transpersonal counseling program that was highly experiential, Gestalt, reenactments and group therapy oriented. While parts were extremely good for me, in many ways it was retraumatizing for this very reason. I was judged pretty harshly by my fellow students in the end, because I wasn't having emotional outbursts like everyone else in the group setting. But I never ever will. Growing up it was not really allowed for various reasons. I wish I could, because keeping everything internal affects my health, but if I couldn't do it after three years with the same group of classmates in such an intimate and emotionally open environment, it ain't gonna happen.

    so I've been meaning to ask this for a very long time. I've been in the typology community for at least 3 years now and I'm pretty sure that I'm an infj. all that demon se struggle is 100% relatable and real for me. but I also have severe social anxiety (diagnosed). so, not that great at engaging with the tribe or not being afraid of what they're thinking about me meaning demon de struggles are also familiar. I don't remember seeing any video of dave and shan differentiating social anxiety of ixxp's and social anxiety as pychopathology. I suppose having social anxiety can't automatically make you a decider, right? so how to tell them apart? because especially when my anxiety gets worse it's really hard to not have an identity crisis.

    • @cleb5117
      @cleb5117 3 года назад +1

      I’m an infj as well(I think, I’m still learning about myself). In my opinion it’s definitely possible for an infj to have social anxiety as well, even if it’s not psychopathilogical. I think it’s more about the way it manifests that differentiates it from other personality types.

    • @tavrine9729
      @tavrine9729 3 года назад

      @@cleb5117 ofc everyone regardless of their type can have it and yeah, technically, its manifestation should differ between the types but it's not that easy to pinpoint irl if the condition has become excessively unhealthy or if you don't have any other observations and opinions than your own (maybe needing outside opinions is a sign of fe rather than fi btw. still I can't know for sure as long as it includes pychopathology aspect). and dave and shan are a bit more straightforward and holistic so that's not fully helpful for me. for you, what are some telltale signs of the way an infj manifests compared to, for instance, an infp does?

    • @cleb5117
      @cleb5117 3 года назад +1

      @@tavrine9729 As you said, it is definitely very difficult to pinpoint it all as there are all kinds of factors that effect it’s manifestation. It seems that Fe users are more in need of outside opinions related to themselves and their feelings, as it is an external judging function. It’s very common for Fe users(especially infjs) to have hard time understanding themselves and their feelings, so it really does help to look outwards.
      This same concept may apply to anxieties and insecurities as well. Infjs, or any Fe user, will generally care a lot about how people feel about them. What can cause a lot of confusion is that people use “think” and “feel” interchangeably. When I say that infjs will care about how people feel about them, it’s related specifically to emotions rather than logic. For an example, let’s say somebody said you were annoying them. This would probably cause distress, and you may wonder what you’re doing wrong. Now, let’s say someone says that your opinion on a certain subject(unrelated to emotions) is illogical. You may be a little annoyed, but you won’t feel as insecure about it. This is because your “thinking” function is introverted, and your sense of logic is subjective.
      An infp on the other hand will have the reverse problem. Their feeling function is introverted, and thinking function extroverted. They will generally not be insecure about how others feel, because they judge feelings and morals subjectively. They will however, be more insecure about what people think of them in regards to logic. They need external feedback in relation to logic(similar to how an infj would need external feedback in relation to feelings). This insecurity may be very strong in an infp, as Te is their inferior function. For an infj, Se is their inferior so that can cause some serious anxiety in an infj. That is not to say that they can only be insecure about things related to those specific functions. As you said, anxiety disorders can cause it all to manifest differently. It can cause you to doubt the things you’re normally most confident in.
      Aside from that, I really hope that you’re doing well right now. Anxiety is a beast, and it can really make everything seem impossible. Putting your feelings out there will definitely help, and it will be way easier to process them that way.

      Typically when you see paragraphs of history and exposition focused on the self, you're reading Si speak and most often from INxPs. True INFJs (who are tribe-focused and future-focused) never tend to write paragraphs about their history, questioning who they are.

    • @cleb5117
      @cleb5117 3 года назад +1

      @@tavrine9729 Looking back at it, I went a little off the rails with that comment. To sum it up, both infjs and ixxps can have anxieties about the tribe. Ixxps are more likely to feel anxious about Te related stuff, while infjs may feel anxious about Se related stuff. That can cause a lot of confusion as Se and Te can appear similar to each other.

    Many of the IP's I know are extremely hard on themselves, never think they're doing enough, and are terrified to ask for help because if they do that means they have to be involved in the tribe in some way. We do not want to show weakness or ask for help because we must be self-reliant. If we can do everything on our own that means we aren't being a burden to the tribe, we can do our own thing and do it perfectly, and the tribe can focus on other things. We want to provide value to the tribe, we just want to do it on our own terms without needing anything from the tribe and without the tribe infringing on our autonomy. I will say that when I was younger I was a know-it-all, thought society (the tribe) was full of idiots, and thought very highly of myself because I knew how things "should" be working, but then reality sets in and tends to humble you. Maybe a lot of IP's you talk to just haven't been humbled enough to realize that they aren't outsiders looking in, but they are a part of the same circus and are just as incompetent as anyone else, they just pretend to be separate from it because then they can live in their delulu fantasy world where they have it all figured out without actually having to work together in a complex and multifaceted society.

    An IxxJ can also fear of being criticised or being persecuted by others, it really depends on how the types work-around those fears, what motivates them, remember that IxxJ's are also introverts and may less dislike dealing with people. You are also forgetting that an INTJ can be Enneagram 5, which has a fear of appearing incompetent or incapable, same enneagram that an INTP (An IxxP type) can have. "In all the data we collect, we haven't found (x)..." ?
    Or was your wording intentional?
    And please don't relegate this inquiry to the confines of any particular over the internet presumed type.
    Thanks!

      Their model is that they can 'prove' your type. That's why it's 'Objective Personality'.
      One of the easiest things they look for now (their model develops over time) is what someone freaks out about. And IPs just tend not to freak out in public, so they can't spot the markers as easily.

      Are you being facetious &/or sarcastic?

    4:38 four letter names? That's not a thing. There's no rude name you'd call someone that's 4 letters. (oh wait I can think of a few, but not ones you'd normally use for men)
