They go on to discuss Snoop's incredible contribution to the game, how all four members of the group elevate one another, a radio station that tried to create a rivalry between $hort and 40, and Mount Westmore's track, 'Free Game'. They also explore the legacy of Cube's sophomore effort, 'Death Certificate' and what went into creating that masterpiece.
54:57 -- Rap's bad rap and the never-ending controversy over lyrics supposedly condoning violence is the topic of conversation. Cube states the importance of people's understanding the context of hip hop's origins, the communities that it birthed from, and the opportunities that the artform has created for so many. $hort goes on to talk about his conscious songs being spotlighted only due to their lack of explicit lyrics and things changing over the years with even more positive rap being fully available but having no industry support.
1:04:51 -- Mount Westmore's song, 'Tribal' is brought up and it's bringing the member's conscious sides into unison as they are asked about their evolution in writing and themes therewithin as they have matured. 40 gives his take on how crucial it is to recognize fact from fiction and how that line has been blurred with this current generation of artists. They discuss how so many youngsters in the game today don't live long enough to gain the wisdom needed to reach the fame they were destined for.
1:15:28 -- The production side of Mount Westmore is discussed as they get into the contributions from veterans of the game like Rick Rock as well as new-comers like Kato On The Track. They explore how Talib almost had the beat that 40 used for 'Yay Area' and 40 passing on the beat for $hort's 'Blow The Whistle'. They also get into the sci-fi themed music video for 'Big Subwoofer', the group making millions from the one single, as well as how touring has changed, with groupies getting turned down.
1:31:54 -- The group is asked if they can speak to their relationship with 2Pac and what he meant to the West Coast. 40 reflects on his history with Pac beginning after the two linked up through their mutual friend Richie Rich and speaks on witnessing Pac's impeccable work ethic first-hand during the recording of 'All Eyez On Me'. $hort goes on to talk about his "big brother" relationship with Pac and also goes into joing N.W.A. for their Straight Outta Compton tour and being by Cube's side when he broke away to go solo.
1:39:51 -- Cube talks about first getting to know Pac while he was part of Digital Underground and reflects on his eagerness at the time to make records of substance and his never-ending energy on tour. $hort speaks on Pac's ability at such a young age of having something meaningful to say every time he was handed a microphone and the group shows love for Boots Riley, Lil Jon, MC Breed and others. In closing the three are asked if they have any advice on growing old gracefully. They discuss the importance of staying true to oneself, the policy of giving more than you take, and living by the golden rule.

These men are such living legends. They are responsible for paving so many roads in so many different avenues. Creating some of the best hip hop to every be created. Giving so many people, including myself a soundtrack to our lives that also helped shaped who we have become.
Not enough can be said about their accomplishments and contributions to not just hip hop, but to human kind.
All love, respect and gratitude these men collectively and individually.

Especially, when they talked about Bay Area & L.A. Hip Hop - they mentioned Souls of Mischief, Del, Saafir, Freestyle Fellowship, Mystik Journeymen, etc
I won't front, it's inspiring to hear Short Dog say he was wiling until he was 38 - because i'm not wiling, but I most certainly don't have it all figured out yet and there's always room to grow so long as you're growing. I feel like the best aspect of this interview is all of the rich game that E-40, Cube, and Short Dog are dropping. A lot of wisdom, a lot of game, a lot of friendship, and a whole lot of legendary dialogue - great episode maybe indeed the best from The People's Party. Thank you, Kweli.

I’m not gonna lie I grew up listening to all these cats in my prime like we are the same age and the see these guys sit here chopping it up chemistry in the Camry it’s gonna be the dope hip-hop group they have live and I don’t think I’ve been to a concertand since I was young, I would go to this one straight up because this is the foundation of West Coast to Me
Man Cube really been in 3 legendary hip hop groups. NWA, WESTSIDE CONNECTION and now MOUNT WESTMORE. so much experience in just one member but the thing is the whole team has stacks of experience behind them too. Combined with E-40, Too Short & Snoop Dogg we really witnessing a hip hop super group with 4 Legendary GIANTS.

I saw Talib in the astral last night and he gave me two cosmic wrist watches that looked nothing like the clicks here and a huge ass crystal with something in the center I couldn't make out, he told me it was for my travels in the astral because I go many places at once and he wanted me to be safe... the travel was ill... thanks for the astral gifts... they saved me from a flood over there... I got up like wow!
At the end of this interview, I definitely felt much more laced wit game, they were all laid back an snug 🤗 where as in the beginning they seemed a bit uptight not knowin wat to expect...glad they placed lots of emphasis on different artists an wat those particular ones meant to them in expressions of luv...I adore the way they give props where props r due an how they describe ppl in general on their own accord accordingly, wit how they preserve them...they did a great interview an maintained their composure...way to go guys!!❤ 🙏

Tupac was wise beyond his years mainly due to his arduous life experiences, his education, and being raised in The Black Panther Movement💎 He was truly a product of his environment.

Too Short was local but he wasn't. Growing up in KC, We was listening to Too Short in the 80s and 40 in the early 90s. My youth was listening to every last one of these guys.

Thinking back, they had Coast Contra but that is 1 group of 4 whereas I'm thinking, as I'm everyone else that's up for the idea, is that you various people at once.
Russ, Mysonne and Hopsin having a chat about independence and advocacy could be amazing to me.
And maybe just have random groups like The Roots and Hieroglyphics together or new school and old school rappers together talking about stuff?

To a point Talib had a point that execs should be held accountable but without the artist creating that “art”or “product” that ignorance and mindset doesn’t get spread. The fact that everyone is side stepping their end of the responsibility is a fact that they aren’t trying to endanger their livelihoods. Artist have a lot of power in their voices.
When we were kids, we used to get in trouble for listening to all these niggas. They're some of the smartest emcees to do it, and as an 80s baby, they're three of my favorites !
