We do fix some plasma sets but not all of them. Do you know what model number your TV is?

Great repair video. Obviously I've just had the "pop" of death on mine. 14 flashes. Can I install those transistors without a hot air soldering tool? Thanks in advance.

      @NicksTVRepair  Год назад +1

Yes absolutely. Hot air is not needed. I think I just selected to do that since it was going to be maybe easier to show on screen. In fact usually don't use hot air, I preffer just a soldering iron.

not sure I can help you with this model. I haven't had to work on it before. I don't think its going to be the same since its a very different model than the one shown in this video.

Hi Nick, thanks for a very nice video. Nice work. Let me ask about the Panasonic plasma TX-P50VT30E50. Today, for the first time since 2011, the red light started flashing 7 times. Could I ask for your opinion on what is wrong? What are the estimated repair costs? Thank you in advance for your answer

      Hello,
I would request you send us an email directly with a picture of the sticker on the back of the set. Unfortunately TX-P50VT30E5 does not seem to be a valid model number. 7 blinks however it commonly due to a faulty SC board and or buffer boards.
We typically can service those for most models, but would like the exact model before we can confirm this.
All of our contact info is in the video description including our email address and the contact us form on our website is also linked there.

Hi there sir, thank you for your video, I happen to have the same TV model asi this one, but mine cannot turn on and it doesn't show any blinking-led code.
When I power it up and try to switch it on, it just shows a permanent-on red led but the screen remains black. Any suggestions of what could be the problem, or what path I could take in order to fix it?, I remember this happened one day during TV watching time and after it made a strong clicking sound the screen went black.
Many thanks for your potential hep Sir, and God bless.

Your next step would be to disconnect the TV from power and open it up. Careful the back cover is sheet metal, you can cut yourself very badly if you are not careful.
Do not power up your TV with it open, you will want to do resistance checks with the multimeter, when you do this you do not want power in the system. So make sure the TV has been disconnected from power for a while to make sure it doesn't have residual power running through it.
Then check the VS and VA lines to ground. Then do the same measurments I did on the SC/SN board as I did in the video.
Do you see any similar faults? Sometimes the faults are there but the error code is not triggered if it's a more mild version of the failure.
If you can't find faults, I would recommend you email us directly to our email which is linked in the video description.

I am not familiar with that model number, you may have to open up your TV and see if it looks to be similar to the one we have. If the boards look identical then yes. If they are different then it may still be similar but the components might be in different areas. I am not sure.

hello. what microscope do you have?

So the one we bought is no longer for sale. But you and many others are inquiring about it so we are going to purchase a few more that are newer, and available and review them. Once we find a good comparable one at a good price we will make a video on it and probably sell it on our website. But as of right now, I don't have a good recommendation that would also be at a good price point.

Nick. Thanks for your very informative video. I have a Panasonic Plasma 50 having initially 14 code that converts to 7 in subsequent power up attempts. I wish I could get a help from you to resolve this issue. Appreciate sending me your e mail. Sam

I don't understand. This video is vastly different of a repair than most other repairs we do on the channel.
I don't exactly dictate what commonly fails on these TVs I just fix what commonly goes wrong. The videos we do are a reflection of the most common repairs we fix daily.
If you are looking for different repairs on different devices, that might give you the variety you are looking for. We have 2 other channels for repairs, one is all electronics except TVs which might have the variety you are looking for, and the other is game console repairs and upgrades.
