Glad you reacted to it :-) It's not the easiest song to listen to but it's just so "different" and cool that I had to recommend it haha :-) //Mariio

That was a very unexpected song choice but I loved it! Not my favorite song but that's nice to see something outside usual recommendations list. I haven't heard this one in a while and honestly it was very uncomfortable to listen to. But this is why I love Dir en Grey. Their music will always bring emotions whether it'll be sadness, admiration or discomfort. I highly enjoyed that feeling of uneasiness that I started to forget because I've listened to their songs thousands of times. So thank you for that!
Costumes are a part of their performance and each time they create something different. I love that they are very unpredictable but at the same time the visuals always match with the music perfectly. You know, sometimes artists go a little bit overboard and the performance doesn't look complete, as if the puzzle didn't come together. I never get this feeling with Dir en Grey.
I would like to recommend 24 Cylinders for a completely different mood (ruclips.net/video/R9OJGhDezaw/видео.html). This is one of my favorite songs and I haven't seen any reactions to it yet so maybe it would be interesting for you
And I wanted to recommend another great Japanese metal band to you. The Gazette are my favorite band for many years and I would love to see your reaction to them! This is Dogma (ruclips.net/video/H-vpOQtwhtI/видео.html) from their tour 15-16. This whole album was devoted to a very dark atmosphere
Thank you so much for this reaction, it was a pleasure to watch! 🙏🏻
Have a great day or night! ♥️

Yeah, it's totally 'fun' to see them in person/live.
Totally didn't break my neck, cried my eyes out and screamed till my voice gave out..✨
    100 /10 would recommend ❤️

I've wanted to see a reaction to this one for such a long time! Thank you to the person who requested this! (I am so sorry, I am not sure I heard your name right so I rather don't spell out what I think I heard ^^') 🤍
I love all the changes and the thickness of the mood in this song. The lyrics are tricky here. I think what he is trying to convey is a general picture of the world and society which is very dark. I thought about using the word nihilistic, but it's not quite that. He doesn't negate anything but seems to say there isn't really a reason for anything and it's hard to find a reason to smile and live life undisturbed from all the reality out there - like, once you have clearly looked at society, it's darkness crawls inside you and nests there.
He wraps this up in the metaphor of a gas chamber [dreambox] which of course lets most people think of the Holocaust; but the first knowledge we have of them comes from France (war prisonars under Napoleon were allegedly excecued by using gas on ships - Kyo actually put a French line into the song) and the U.S. executed prisoners as early as 1924 by using gas chambers. Nowadays we still find them being used for animals.
Thinking about it it feels like a collective crime that we are all a part of [either by participing or by not doing anything against it] so it becomes a part of ourselves. We are all looking at the world through dull eyes - half asleep. There is a religous connotation in this as well.
But that is just what I got from the lyrics - I am sure he had a very clear picture behind every line that I don't see (clearly). So please don't take this as an interpretation but as a mood the song conveys to me personally.
Since you are a guitarist, I would so love for you to react to Vanitas.

And I want recommend Kyo's second band sukekiyo. Song is called Scars Like Velvet :)

Glad I could provide a reaction for this one! Thank you for all the info for the song. Dir En Grey's lyrics feel very layered and deep, and I think that plus awkward language translation software makes it pretty difficult to figure out. Knew the band's fans would give me a hand! Cheers, Matt

You should always choose the live versions if you can find one. They are really impressive.

May I suggest some Galneryus if we are digging into Japanese Metal? "Cause Disarray" maybe?
Dir en Grey reminds me sometimes of System of a down with it's Dynamics

Those will be my recommendations. The other side of the band, but as popular and beloved as the growls and screams. Those old songs made us fans back in the day.
    Mushi (2004 and 2016 live)
    ruclips.net/video/4JNsYqlIvzE/видео.html
    ruclips.net/video/OMp9tnH-WV0/видео.html
    Undecided ~unplugged~ (2007)
    ruclips.net/video/tBM75O5yY0U/видео.html
Sajou no uta (2004 and 2016)
    ruclips.net/video/-JNucLW81f4/видео.html
    ruclips.net/video/o1BxXQe5_2E/видео.html
    All links has subtitles.
As for screams, Kyo rarely improvises. Every scream has its own place and time in the song.
