I might be insanely stupid, but how is Midoriya considered "aware"? I fr thought going into this video that Aoyama would be the character for BNHA, cuz he looks at the cam lol.
Possibly it could be because he narrates a lot of the anime and voices the in betweens of episodes where he says "plus ultra". That's the only thing I can think of, other than that he's not
When you think of it wally and Amanda are from a show and monikas a game charater (all of them are self aware in there respective places that there a show or game) but midoriya in his world if from the real world and is the narrator and such like they mentioned ust my thought of how and ayoma will just stare at us he entire time little mention of the he narrates thing when someone is shown there name and quirk appears including during the side information panels like its deku reading though a peoce of his note book
Agree, if it's anyone who's actually *"aware"* then it should Aoyama not Midoriya. Because to us, the meaning of *aware* is someone who knows that they're either in a video game, breaks the fourth wall or at least they acknowledge that the world isn't exactly as *"real"* as it makes out to be. Midoriya is the protagonist but he's not *aware* of it. Yes, he narrates the show but he had never actually shown any signs of even knowing something like that.

i dont really feel like deku should count as an "aware" character, the point of being aware is that they know their universe is fake that it's fabricated. Deku is not aware of that fact
