Wheeeeeeee!!! ..... AAAAGGGGHHHHWWWWWW!!!! 🥴😵😵💫 ..... Poor Alice 😞 ...... Those homes looked like 'Our' home in the 1950's .... Minus the Telly of course ..... It was all round to the neighbours for Bill & Ben .. Cisco Kid & Coronation Street 🤠 ... Great Video 🙂
Very much Alice in wonderland vibes with time travel cottages. I have been meaning to go myself one of these days. Thank you so much for bringing us with you.
I always wanted to see round here as various NB vloggers moor up there and mention it but never go in so this is brilliant. I’ll pass on the engines but to mosey around the boats and cottages especially, and inside the various buildings and museum would be great. Reminds me of many decades ago when we spent far longer than expected at the Exeter (I think) maritime museum with tons of boats to explore...and I couldn’t have resisted the playground either 😁
We loved the museum! I thought the exhibits were particularly well presented and I loved seeing all those boats. Sadly, the day we were there, some of the outbuildings were closed. I got a kick out of the basement where you can see the archivists working on projects but when we were there we had to use our imagination. We picked up a copy of Sam and Tim's game too. My favorite thing was also the cottages. When you come back to NYC, I think you would love the Tenement Museum as it has the same flavor!
I visited earlier this year and while the whole place is fascinating, it looked like they were short of money as there looked to be quite a few gaps in maintenence and many exhibits looked to be in danger of not being rescued. There is another waterways museum at Gloucester Docks, 150 miles away, but paradoxically that one looks very well funded. I really enjoyed the engine house at the Ellesmere port museum and got an excellent guided tour by the volunteer curators.
The first cottage took me straight back to my grandparents' house. Even the plate next to the telephone was a design that they had on some cups and saucers and the firescreen is exactly the style my grandmother used to embroider. Lovely to see more than just the boats.
Thanks for the tour. Can't do it from here in NZ. Wish I could but you did it for me even putting your own entertaining comments on certain things. I got it. Cheers.
Great vlog, and I hope it encourages people to visit the museum. I've been to the museum on a couple of occasions and loved it, but if you're visiting again in that dress, let me know and I will make sure I'm there at the same time :) You looked fab :P
Loved the tour, but since we live in Texas, may we ask two questions? First, why do all the narrowboats have colored triangles painted on their bows? You know, the pointy part in the front…Bow, right? Second, we noticed that the older boats have elaborate signage on their sides. Sometimes it is a name, or a company, or long list of numbers, or..things we don’t quite understand. Could you explain what those signs are telling us? Thank you so much. Oh, we laughed out loud at the outdoor bathroom part….! That tour was great!
It’s just a traditional way to decorate your boat. A lot of boat people would travel and work as a family and wanted to make the boat look as nice as possible. The name of the boat or company would be the same as modern-day sign writing on a haulage company’s vehicles
Loved your outfit. Great vid.
I am sure the horse would have taken you the rest of the way
Best video yet ❕️ more Lorna does laundry please ❕️you looked fabulous in that dress, absolutely fabulous ❕️❗️❕️

Loved this video! That museum sure does have a lot of stuff. It's so cool they let people go onboard the boats to look around!

That beam is the Towing Mast. Which was extended depending how deep the boat was in the water.

Yes, I’d love to do the Tenement Museum. The timings didn’t work last time

Where the ambiance sounds part of the museum or of your own creation?
Welcome to The Wirral.
