Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing (Wii) - All-Star Moves Montage

- I'm sure many of you have been waiting for this, so I might as well put it up. If you've been watching my Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing video, then you've seen it happen over and over: The music suddenly cuts to some different song, the announcer talks about some All-Star Move, and someone from the back of the pack suddenly catches up and unleashes something devastating!
These are All-Star Moves. They are, in essence, personalized Bullet Bills (from Mario Kart Wii). In nearly all of them, the character gets a speed boost, are guided automatically along the track, become invincible, and in some cases, acquire some new attack that can knock around other players. The extent of the speed boost, the duration of the move, their maneuverability, and the effects of attacks, if any, vary between characters. And, of course, if you're familiar with the music from the games the characters hail from, be prepared for a trip down memory lane. Except in the case of B.D. Joe, as Crazy Taxi's soundtrack is mostly licensed music that Sumo Digital isn't able to modify. Unfortunately, these are not that balanced. Some All-Star Moves are amazingly powerful and will almost guarantee a shoot to the front of the pack (like Virtual Fight), and some are just minor boosts that don't take you very far (like Giant Froggy).
Each clip has an annotation that tells you the full known names of the racers, the name of the All-Star Move, and as far as my knowledge, the name of the song that plays. Please let me know if I have any song titles wrong.
Most of these are pretty straightforward. I'll give an explanation to the ones that might not be immediately obvious.
Miles "Tails" Prower - Tails Tornado
The Tails Tornado offers no visible speed boost. However, a tornado zooms by in front of Tails, which is almost impossible to avoid. Thus, Tails's All-Star Move is about slowing everyone down in front of him more than getting himself ahead.
Knuckles the Echidna - Emerald Power
Hold down the item button to charge. Observe the size of the green beam trailing behind Knuckles. When it's at its largest, let go of the item button, and all other racers will spin out. You can let go earlier as well to spin out racers closer to your position.
Shadow the Hedgehog - Super Shadow
The Achievement/Trophy/Challenge "Fighters Megamix" is obtained once you hit an opponent with all 21 All-Star Moves. In the case of Shadow, the Chaos Spear, that projectile attack does not count. You have to ram into an opponent for it to count.
Aiai - Super Monkey Roll
The Achievement/Trophy/Challenge "Fighters Megamix" is obtained once you hit an opponent with all 21 All-Star Moves. Aiai's Super Monkey Roll will only count if Aiai rams directly into a racer. While he summons other monkeys in balls to help knock opponents out, they don't count towards "Fighters Megamix."
Amigo - Samba de Party
Drive up next to racers to trap them behind Amigo. When Samba de Party ends, they will all spin out.
Beat - Tag Jamming
When Beat attacks someone, that player's screen will become full of graffiti. It fades away after some time.
Ryo Hazuki - Working Man
Drive up behind someone and press the item button to make them flip out. The racer will come to a standstill, unlike all other item impacts.
Mobo & Robo Bonanza - Blimp Strike
Robo will throw to the far left by default. Aim to the right of where you want him to throw the bombs.
Mii - Parade Power
Under the Classic Controller or Nunchuk scheme, you must shake the control stick to speed up the Miis carrying you. With the Wii Wheel, you must press up on the D-pad as rapidly as possible.

Opa Opa's is insane! Instead of one All-Star move, he can choose from 3 All-Star moves at the shop. Not only does he not have a car, he IS the car. That's how awesome he is. I also like the announcer guy.
Same, And Opa Opa is gonna be the last character you purchase because of it.
Damn, really has passed almost 10 years? This was one of my first video ever watched and this channel is (no doubt) the first I followed because I liked it (and also because at the time, in 2011-2012, I really loved Sonic content and Wii games)

Wish they kept All-Stars like this in transformed. honestly, the characters in that game all have one out of three moves: dashes, close-range attack and shooting things in front.
That's it. It's telling when the most original All-Stars in the game are NiGHTS and Reala, because they transform into their true forms instead of just turning into plane form.

I think Sonic's all star move should be him jumping out of his kart and running through the track. It would seem much more awesome that way since Sonic is known for his speed.

An odd thing happen to me years ago, I was the ChuChu's and release an All-Star in one of the Final Fortress stages, the second one, somehow fell off the stage with the All-Star on, respawn the stage and see I can use the All-Star again.

i love this game, so glad i got it. i think its better than mario kart in some ways. plus i love the sega characters BD Joe, Beat, and Ryo are my favs. Sega NEEDS to make new versions of Crazy Taxi and Jet Grind Radio ASAP

There were three characters that were considered to be in this game: Toejam and Earl, Gilius Thunderhead (Golden Axe), and Vyse (Skies of Arcadia). What do think their All-Star moves would be if they were in the game?
For toejam and earl I’m thinking they’ll probably use their ship to get past racers before they jump out while the ship crashes, for Gillius I’m thinking he’ll use magic potions and use a level 3 spell that hits racers whenever they are near him Edit: I’m not talking if you hit him directly, more like his all star move will make it difficult for you to go past him
I bought the DS version the day it was out, after school.
ah so that's why I'm not getting the fighters megamix challenge I just use shadow's chaos spear and never go directly to a racer
