So informative..brings back so many memories of my youth. It was a shock for me years ago when I had to buy mangoes as I knew about getting them freely. I never liked the foreign fruits except for maybe bing cherries. I eat whatever is in season..so right now I am getting my mango fix😄 and only a few days ago I got a few of the 'white pommerac' and I had my fill. Yes..nothing beats back our sunkissed fruits. Sapodilla..soursop..sugar apple..caimite..portugals..mangoes..avocadoes..etc etc..we have it so nice here
That's why children before including myself hardly got sick because of consuming local fruits. We have been brain washed. Am eating a pomerac while listening to this talk. 😌
I enjoyed watching this video and listening to her explain in detail about each fruit, gives us more reason to treasure our local foods and culture. Thanks so much
I am so amazed with this episode... luv it .. we grew up eating most of these and I am very happy u did this educational segment about our tropical fruits...I live in Florida and I planted most of these fruits in my yard ... my main goal was for my kids to connect to our culture especially through our foods, cooking and of course fruits and veggies.....u break this down so logically....thanks Vlad / Ravi 👍🇬🇾🇺🇸🇹🇹 ... I also lived in Trinidad for a while so I luv the diversity of all the fruits ...
Wow beautiful and so true. Our 4th generation have lost touch with our local Fruits. As parents we have to encourage and teach out future generations. Looking at that mango tree . My favourite fruit. Thanks for sharing
I completely enjoyed this, thanks people it was informative.........I don't have alot of growing space so I do a few potted fruits sugar apples, lemons , cherries just to name a few or I forgot Bird peppers
Yes the fruits now are Apple's grapes blueberries strawberries but I'm so happy now that someone is educating us of our local fruits.we ate a lot of it when we were young. But children are fed kfc pizza burgas soda 'wings and fries no wonder diabetes on the rise in kids.thank you Dr. Roberts- Nkrumah
Hello. I'm into home gardening. I enjoyed watching this video. We have a wonderful array of fruits here. It really inspires me to go planting. Thank you for sharing.
Great 😊 material, it reminds me of my home country “DR Congo” ...I used to eat most of fruits in this video 😋... Yes yes mango trees can grow so big, the last time I was home, my grand ma got ready of it including the avocado tree 😌...
Thank you Professor, great information for our youths in today's society. Let's share this video and encourage our youths to watch this video. Change their mindset about our local fruits.
I love this. Really educational. I love our local fruits and I want to plant as many of them as possible. It's a lost treasure but this video should be shared so people understand that we need these trees.
GREAT & Thank You Dr. Laural Roberts for Sharing, Yes the Carambola Fruit tree is a Blessing as it produces Several Crops A Year !!! As well the ACEROLA CHERRY TREE also produces Fruits through-out the growing Year !!! FRUIT TREES That produce multiple Crops A Year are a Big + for any Garden. DWARF JUNE PLUM TREES are Also Everbear and can be eaten green & when they Ripen in color. OH Yes There are FRUITS FOR EVERY SEASON OF THE YEAR !!! There is Nothing like Picking Ripe Fruits from Your very own Trees !!! Thank You, Sherry & Larry Shatzer - Our Kids Tropical Fruit Tree Farm & Nursery.
Very informative and beautiful knowledge about local fruits. I love Africa because of its richness of the Natural Resources and of beautiful culture .Always preferred to eat local fruits, vegetables coz firstly they are best chosen by Mother Nature for us accordingly our needs and secondly we can get them free ( if we own some fruit trees) or at less price as compared to imported ones. I got the chance to live in Africa and observed that people here don't know how to best use these resources or different methods of processing these fruits.
I would also speak about the different flavors depending on ripeness. For example 5 fingers taste like green grapes when they are still green. Also many tropical fruit trees are heavy producers
Wow! That West Indian Cherry 🍒is so mouth watering 😋 You do beautiful work, keep this education going am learning so much. In my childhood I had those cherries but the tree was a big one we used to climb it. It must have been another variety
The children of today's world knows nothing about pommarec, pommcthyree,West Indian cherries, sugar cane, and all the many tropical fruit that she mentioned,I as a young ate all those fruits and still do , I used to suck sugar cane every day,my grandfather had fields as far as the eyes can see, mangoes I had choices which one I wanted on any given day to eat ,Portugal, orange, grapefruits, and the other citrus was their to have to your heart contents, but as the world changes rapidly so also I am assuming that people views on fruits and vegetables maybe different from when I was a child and grown into an adult,I still my fruits, vegetables,it's a must have with me .Once again you all did a very beautiful vlog ,thanks .
All this knowledge was known by our ancestors, my grandmother's used to teach me about all these topics, we lost our ways thinking we're better or more intelligent but we're stupid compared to the people from the past....
Growing up in Miami, exposed to the multi cultural popular fruit and vegetables, has made me a more rounded individual. The Cuban -American and Jamaican- American communites are an excellent examples of immigrants reluctant to surrender to the limitations of the local grocery stores.
I love bananas and we can't grow them here in Canada. So many around the world have gotten into garbage foods like chips and cheesies. When I was little, desert was fruit.
Your video was shared on "Stephanie Nwadiei: I Am HYBASIA- RUclips Channel, & I happy that I stopped by and watched the entire video. It was informative 👍🏾👍🏾
