Hello mam...Great video and perfect explanation...it really helped me a lot...thank u ❤...mam I have one doubt what is the difference between runner and stolon as both goes from upside and then comes to ground??????
Runner m underground se nhi nikal rhi h dhyan se dekho lower branch soil k touch m aakr new plant bna rhi h runner m. Stolon m main plant stem underground grow kr rhi h usse jo branch nikli vo aage new plant formation kregi
Thank you ma'am.....It cleared my doubt.... 🙏🙏🙏 Ma'am please check 2009 AIPMT solution... It is written that vegetative propagation of mint occurs by sucker.... Please clarify... Thanks.. 😊
I'm teaching according to NCERT. On page number 69 of class 11th NCERT there is a line says-"In plants like mint and jasmine a slender lateral branch arises from the base of the main axis and after growing aerially for some time archs downwards to touch the ground". Here it means stolon. I hope it is clear to you🙂🙂
Then only at the point where the stem touches the soil, roots plants will grow. But In offset, the root isn't attached to the soil, so isn't it difficult to have minerals?
The main stem is little deep underground then from that main stem some new branches will appear they will grow in side the soil for sometime after some time they will grow out side of the soil .

We can say -runner is a kind of stolon but they have dissimilarities on the basis of their propagation method which i had told in video. Thanks for asking 🙂
Not same, we can say "a runner is a kind of stolon" on the basis of their growing pattern but they show some differences which i have told in video . They are no exactly same , they share similarities
Niche is a term used in ecology. Niche tells us about space occupied by an organism , resources it utilises and it's functional role in ecological system. I hope it is helpful.
