I own a straight piped F90 and I have to say hearing the turbos constantly is the best part of driving. Sounds like a jet taking off whenever you're in the lower RPMs and an exotic high note at higher RPMs. The fact that I can enjoy 780hp (tuned) in a family sedan with AWD & Heated/Cooled/Massage seats on a commute is amazing. Who knows how long term ownership reliability will be. Personally, I don't want to find out and would rather own an S58 engine car for long term ownership.

Stealthy dropping off kids at preschool in total comfort and then drifting a roundabout on the way home while the exhaust screams like impending apocalypse, that's M5. As for reliability, I was at 800hp and the engine died at 25k km due to a bent rod. Swapped the engine, got forged rods, 750hp map, I'm at 100k km and no issues yet, and the car gets abused daily.

Generally, when you see a big 4 door car, you won't expect the performance that you do get out of the M5. Only people who know cars would know about its performance. The CS is crazy money for minor performance gains. It’s just an ego trip for people with more money than sense! Slap a stage 1 tune on the M5 comp and laugh at CS owners as you gap them!

The M5 easily the best and fastest car I’ve ever had - it’s absolutely brutal when accelerating from zero - it literally takes your breath away. It looks mean (but subtle) and is a very nice and luxurious place to sit. I recommend anyone looking to buy a super saloon to try one out - you will not be disappointed.
A stage 2 M5 can virtually smoke almost everycar on the road, unless it's a crazy exotic hypercar or a insane built car but other than that, on a straight line it's GGs. Even on corners it will smoke a lot of " sportscars " !

The one disappointing thing is how it no longer have wide wheel arches (like the E46/E90). Audi RS6 still have them, and makes it look much nicer. But yeah, I tend to take it over the 911 Turbo S when going on trips (unless the road is narrow, as the car is a bit big :)

I just got my F90 comp, one issue these cars seem to have is the coolant expansion tanks leaking down into the fuel injectors. Just had to replace 4 of mine, luckily under warranty. Even the updated tanks seem to leak from the seams after the tanks expand from engine bay temperatures.
@@gvaspirated Sorry I don't check my notifications on RUclips often lol... actually no not that I'm aware of, I was told there weren't any recalls on my car when I bought it. The updated tanks (part number ending in 450), were supposed to address the issue, but Velocity Tuning posted a video about 3 weeks ago where his new updated tank failed the same exact way, after only 3-5km if I recall correctly. The local dealership told me to just keep an eye on it 😓. That said I'm trying to find someone local to make an aluminum solution, but the integrated sensors make that difficult from what I've read.
I had the 2016 m5 and u can say urs the best car I ever had,it had monster power,it was very comfetable, easy to drive,very practical, the 2018 inwards cars look very plain and boring but the 2016 models are amazing and I've had a few bmw and mercedes.

Stage 1 shouldnt be a problem, seen plenty making north of 750whp tuned to stage 1. ECUs arent unlocked yet, youd have to send the ECU overseas to have it unlocked so you could tune to stage 2. Not worth it imo. With that being said, theres plenty of builds on YT that have been unlocked and tuned to stage 2 and are making around 900hp on stock turbos. One tech said he was building it to break to see how far they can push the platform. I wouldnt want my F90 comp pushed past stage 1, I basically daily drive it in the city and stock has been the most reliable BMW ive owned🤞🏼
@@mikeab2871 if youre looking for reliability I would say keep it stock. If youre looking for a slight performance boost id say just roll with a JB4 or Dinan Tuner. Dinan especially stays on the conservative side of pushing your turbos etc but I havent heard anything bad from folks who use JB4s. Always ask a technician, preferably someone who has experience with tuning BMWs. Plug in tuners are safer than flash imo. I had a stage 1 Dinan setup on my f10 550 prior to my F90 and I had no issues with it whatsoever. Conservative power gain but the shift points and reaction time was much better, especially on the N63 platform
The M5 is doable but it's definitely not going to be a fun car for someone looking for cloud surfing, if you know what I mean. But yeah man track scenario it's best.
THe M5 to this day is the ONLY BMW worth considering. It's the only one where they didn't mess up the front facia witht he oversized "nostrils". Not sure what year they began incorporating that design. Ruins the look on so many BMW's. Now if oly there was a cupe version of the M5......
