    Good video. Few quick tips based on my 2010 Altima.
    I used a 9mm socket
    Someone else suggested to use a rag when handling the replacement bulb. I just used my shirt.
    My bulb for main brake light is a sylvania 3157 LL longlife bulb
    The existing bulb didn’t come out easily until I took a tiny flat head screw driver and pried the copper looking flange back off the bulb base. I did this on both sides and it popped out.
    Some other commenter complained that he didn’t give details on what size socket. That guys a turd. It’s a free video that just saved me $50 from a mechanic. Thank you.

    One more satisfied viewer. Perfect. Taillight assembly was cracked, found a salvaged one for $50, followed your instructions...and in 30 minutes.....on the road again.
    Garage would have charge over $200

    Thanks for your video, concise and looks like an easy process. I did have some trouble prying the tail light off though, didn't mention the pegs to hold the taillight assembly in place and lock it down. I also have 2 small cuplike cylindrical pieces of plastic with a bit of spongy stuff at the bottom of them. I assume they're supposed to control moisture or something. I hope they're not too important because I don't know where they fit in, LOL.

    this is a good video, but everyone remember there's oil and acids in your fingers. You shouldn't be touching brand new light bulbs for automobiles with bare hands always use a rag

    • @funbro1
      @funbro1  7 лет назад +20

      That's not a bad practice but unnecessary unless you are using a very high temperature halogen bulb. These bulbs are the standard incandescent bulbs so it won't really hurt them unless you have an abnormally oily set of hands. Thanks for watching.

      so you mean he can check it by turning it on before install, so he will have someone step the brake for him, is that what you mean???

    It would be nice to know the socket size

    • @funbro1
      @funbro1  2 года назад

      I bet it would be even nicer if someone would do the job for you but if you decide to change the bulb yourself you will know the size.
      Thanks for watching.

    Use gloves when handling the bulbs. Your oily finger print can affect the longevity of the break light.

    • @funbro1
      @funbro1  5 лет назад

      While that is true for very high temperature halogen bulbs it does not apply to incandescent bulbs. Thanks for watching.

    Shouldn't touch the bulb with bare fingers. The oil from your skin will stick to the glass and can cause it to explode from overheating..

      While this may be true for halogen bulbs I assure you that it is fine for this incident bulb. Thanks for watching.

    Why do you touch the bulb with bare hands?

    • @funbro1
      @funbro1  6 лет назад +1

      So that it will not slip out of my hands and fall to the floor and possibly break. There is no problem touching a regular incandescent bulb with your bare hands. If it is a halogen that would be different. Thanks for the question and Thanks for watching.

      Sounds like a wiring problem or possibly a bad bulb.
