You still have 1 thing that you haven't used. It is the case with words "remember the seasons". Without it,you still finish the game,but if you open the case,the ending will change. "The seasons" here is the first chapter in series Rusty Lake. You know 3 timelines there:1964,1971 and 1981. But it still has 1 number,1487,which you used to open the safe.With this pass,you can open the case and get a green diamond. Change the blue diamond with the green diamond,you have a different ending. If you use the blue diamond,a shadow will attack you in the end,but if you use the green,the shadow can't attack you because of a shield and you still alive

where's the paradox and the cave?
the mirror box is a math equation, the symbols are 6, 2, 3 and 7 mirrored back to back, it is asking you to times 237 by 6, which gives the answer 1422, which you put in as the mirrored numbers.
chloe shea the answer box should be the diffirent symbol with ask box , or be numbers. This logic too hard

@Root Babu if you look at the first symbol that looks like cherries, it is actually a 6 with a mirrored 6 next to it that make up the symbol, same for the rest of the numbers. That is why they are all horizontally symmetrical symbols, if you cut them in half horizontally you get to see the number they represent. Again if you look at the first symbols to appear in the answer section that looks like an. infinity symbol, it is actually two 0's next to each other.

Cube Escape: The Lake written walkthrough - Thanks to Alisha!
Collect the wire, and the fishing pole.
Click on the table with the handled drawer.
Open the drawer and collect the knife.
Zoom out.
Look up.
Collect the bandage-looking insect.
Back down and turn right.
Collect the piece of paper on top of the window frame.
Turn right.
Collect the hook.
Open the left cabinet drawer.
Collect the crowbar.
Turn right.
Set up the fishing rod on the post.
Add the wire (fishing line).
Click the end of the rope and add the fishing hook.
Bait the line with the insect.
Zoom out.
Click the line to cast it.
Reel in 3 times.
Collect the shrimp.
Return to the starting view.
Click on the table.
Put the shrimp on the table.
Chomp it in half with the knife.
Collect the key and the shrimp head.
Zoom out.
Use the key to open the top drawer of the cabinet.
Retrieve the magnet and worm.
Go fishing again, same as you did previous, using the worm as bait.
Collect the fish.
Go back to your starting view.
Put the fish on the cutting board.
Click on the fish 14 times with the knife.
Zoom out.
Click on the tree.
Look at the piece of paper you picked up earlier.
Zoom out.
Go fishing once again with the shrimp head.
Click on the hand to pull the form out of the lake.
Using the knife, cut the closest shoulder blade open and collect the apple (5 clicks)
Back to the starting point.
Using the crowbar, pry open the board above the cabinet, with a sharp line.
Collect the key.
Use your new key to unlock the glass cabinet.
Collect the mold.
Use the crowbar to rip the board, second highest from the ground.
Collect the eyeball.
Go fish with the magnet thrice.
Collect the key and the two chests.
Back to your starting point.
Use the key to open the lower cabinet.
Collect the coin.
Examine the darker green chest.
If you played Cube Escape: Seasons (and read my walkthrough), you'll know the safe combination is the same for ALL THE SAFES. It applies now.
Go ahead and open it, if you know the code.
Collect the secret inside of it.
If you didn't open the safe with the secret code, or you're done, (zoom out), click on the tree.
Look at your piece of paper. The placement of the items is written there.
Put the items in their places.
Take a look at the light green chest (the first on you pulled out of the lake.)
Crack the code. Hint think halves.
Enter in the code (if you don't feel like thinking, it's 6X237=1,422)
Add the gem in its position. (For those who have the secret item, I suggest doing the original and switching it in after)
Zoom out.
Go back fishing.
Collect the magnet and bait the line with the mold.
Collect the shell.
Turn right.
Add the shell in the final spot.
Go back to your cold fishing spot.
Click 5 times.
Click once more to end the game. (Essentially you just died)
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE THE CODE FROM SEASONS
Click 'Main Menu'
Click play.
Be relieved you don't have to start over.
Go back to the tree.
Switch the original gem, for your secret one.
Back to the scary thing.
Click four times to evaporate it into a cube.
Collect the cube.
Congratulations you changed your fate

I opened that box first and got the cube, cause I couldn't figure out the mirror code :(
the code from season was1487 which worked for me! fishing at the lake u get 2 coded safe's one asks u add the code from season and the other from the case written mirror, so if u use the white / grey one makes the star once u add to the tree as shown in the paper diagram and the dark power kills u but if u add the green gem u block the power out n Ur still alive! I absolutely love these games by rusty lake! have played them back to back!

This was the first escape game i completed without using a single hint or checking a walkthrough lol, came here to watch the bad ending since i already got the good one

This was one of my first escape games ever played. I browsed games on Google and some website (not the Rusty Lake one) showed me Cube Escape: Birthday. I played that. Later got to know about couple of more games of different setting. And couple of years later got to know that there are more in the series. Ultimately finished the game while playing all night and I used to get freaking nightmares after playing the game. Has to be the best escape game ever. Surely tough one but you are supposed to find things yourself.
Just when I thought I'd go through one of their games without watching the walkthrough, I couldn't see the holes in the walls where we could use the crowbar

I think the the alternate ending "change your fate" has to do with what happened in cube escape: Seasons --------if you want to know the code is under the following spoiler.

after knowing that woman changed her fate and she is the black figure who killed her, this game was to show how the woman died and the alternate ending was to emphasize what happened in cube escape: seasons preventing the shadowy figure (herself) from killing her (that's why knowing the code requires playing cube seasons)....i think the black cube is the thoughts or the bad memories that made her commit suicide (she took prozac in cube escape: seasons).

@@eeeepsilon when you use the magnet with the hook you get two boxes, use the code with the second box you will get the green gem which will help you get the secret ending (you get to use it after the game ends).

CODES EXPLAINED:
In the light green box, the numbers are mirrored vertically. So if you cover up the left hand side then you’ll see the normal number and it’s a sum.
The second box which you get from using the fishing rod magnet again it’s the code from Seasons (the previous game) which is 1487 to save you time.

In 1969, Laura Vanderboom wins a newspaper contest, receiving a free trip to Rusty Lake Mental Health and Fishing. She breaks up with her boyfriend Bob and travels to the Lake, at the Rusty Lake Mental Health and Fishing with her parrot Harvey. She goes there to try to escape from her depression which has plagued her since at least Spring 1964.
During the move, she kept the parrot in a cardboard box used to also carry other things to the facility. This will become important later. There she discovers an abandoned cabin on the edge of Rusty Lake and decides to go fishing. Laura catches a dead body which is in the process of turning into a corrupted soul with a fishing rod using a prawn’s head as bait, though one of the corrupted soul’s hands is not yet the corrupted black colour. Using a knife, Laura cuts an apple out of its back while the soul screeches at her (the apple in its body appears to be part of a negative memory the soul had which triggers when she removes it). (If the body is the last to be pulled out by the player, it will remain outside if not clicked after collecting the apple. Correctly placing the items on the tree will cause the body to be replaced by a fully Corrupted Soul but will reappear as a body if any of the said items are taken off. This indicates that the corruption is not complete until the ritual takes place).
Laura discovers a diagram on how to make a dark ritual which completes the process of corrupting a soul. The words ‘the past is not dead, it is not even past’ beneath the ritual diagram imply that if one can visit their past, they can change any negative outcomes with the ritual. The fish when cut open grows into a tree which can hold five objects. Placing a blue gem on top (which she finds from one of the two chests she fishes out of the lake) shoots a pentagram beam, which is evil (not protective). Laura does that at first unknowingly (since the events of Seasons have not yet occurred with the exception of the first Spring 1964 during which she was not yet corrupted - we don't get to see her image on the mirror inside the clock until the second time we revisit Spring 1964 in Seasons) and the corrupted soul comes out and attacks her, corrupting her soul.
With his mistress in mental disarray, Harvey hides inside the cardboard box he arrived in. The corrupted soul who attacked his mistress is looking for him as well. He manages to repel the soul, which identifies as having wings - it is Mrs. Pigeon. It is very likely that this is the same soul Laura fished out of the lake at the cabin, since it also has its right hand not corrupted yet. Anyway, Harvey repels Mrs. Pigeon’s corrupted soul and escapes. Laura continues to live as a corrupted soul, her depression getting gradually worse. In the Summer of 1971, she joins the events of Seasons (and continues to remain corrupted until Winter 1981). The voice on the phone of Mr. Crow reminded her that “there will be blood” in the Fall of 1971 (presumably because he had already lived these events having travelled in time) which refers to Laura committing suicide due to her corruption (which explains the blood on her walls, the bloodied knife as well as the moon scene does showing Laura getting murdered by her own corrupted soul in the same flat where Seasons takes place). After her death, she wanders as corrupted soul in her flat until the Winter of 1981.
After the end of the events in Seasons, Laura is again herself back in the Spring of 1964 when the corruption is gone with the help of Mr. Crow over the phone who shoots the white beam out of the phone onto her corrupted body. Laura knows that the code from her suicide was 1487. She waits until 1969 and visits the cabin because she must follow the same events in her life in order not to change her future substantially - only this time she intends to make a small but notable change. She knows what would happen if she used the blue gem, so this time she does not. She repeats the ritual, only this time she enters the code 1487 on the second chest she fishes out of the lake (which refers to ‘the seasons’ that she now understands what it is about), which gives her a green gem. Placing the green gem on top of the tree instead of the blue one shoots a pentagon beam which is protective. When the soul of Mrs. Pigeon attempts to enter the cabin, the pentagon stops it and it eventually disappears, leaving behind a black cube. (Corrupted Souls are tied to the black cubes: the process of extracting negative memories into black cubes corrupts the body if the victim learns about it). Laura, having successfully changed her past in Seasons, survives Mrs. Pigeon’s attack in 1969. Again, Harvey manages to repel the corrupted soul of Mrs. Pigeon who turns to him after failing to corrupt Laura. It appears that Laura still kills herself in the Fall of 1971, as her depression gets the better of her. Case 23 deals with detective Dale Vandermeer investigating her death.

I got a different ending with the green gem. The shape at the end is a pentagon instead of a star, and then you see the black cube.

Tbh, I just finished playing The Lake. By far it was the easiest for me although I had to go back and the code from seasons ( what a twist 😂). I thankfully didn't need to watch the walkthrough. Can't wait to see more games. I just wish all the rusty lake games were free. 😣

when I cut the shrimps head off and found the key, I picked the shrimp up and placed the shrimp back down again. By doing this, I found an abundant amount of keys haha. I'm playing this game on Kongregate. :P
P.S. I have a feeling I'm gonna love the Cube Escape games :D
+jacabobhappylife766 Just tested, glitch exists on Rusty Lake's site as well. You can force the magnet into an unusable inventory slot and make the game unwinnable.
If you wanna follow the story as best as possible your should play the games in order. Some of them are more important than others for the main story. To play the ones I marked with a ($) you have to pay, but these are longer and go deeper into the story (very recommended). Here it goes:

To get the other ending using the other case: click on the case, then put in the code from seasons; 1487. If done correctly, you should have a green gem - replace the blue gem in the tree with green. The green gem will make a pentagon instead of a star.This pentagon will protect you from the lake demon; getting a different ending!

I finished this without watching ang I'm really confused on what the other box is for (the symbols one) because I got the answer of the other box from the seasons and after the last jumpscare at the painting (or the window), it said that I finish the game because I got the cube.
How is the Rabbit person in birthday connected to all this and how is Mr. Crow and Mr. owl related to the story, sometimes I think the story is vague but it's creative especially the theater story, I just wanted to know if the story is connected.

(SPOILER) the dark figure gets attacked, and you walk into a white room with a spinning cube.
