@SpazPhoenix Dude, you clearly don't understand how revenue works in TV/wrestling. Wrestling is not a live event business anymore, nor is it a PPV business. It's a TV business. AEW could put on a show with 100 people in the audience & they'd still be getting the big TV deal, currently presumed to be $200mil/year, from WB & presumably FOX, because they consistently rank in the top 3 in the key demo across all of their shows, even though the ratings have gone down. In no small part due to cord-cutting. AEW is about to be simul-cast on TV & MAX, similar to the NBA, and the PPVs will be going to MAX as well. And why? Because networks understand the way the world is going & live content is the only thing that really draws ratings. Plus, it's cheap content. Understand this-- the same amount of money AEW is going to get in 1 year for 52 weeks of content, is the same amount it cost Disney to make "Secret Invasion", an 8 episode show that nobody liked. You have to understand the world outside of the wrestling bubble if you want to make sense. Any questions?

The same Dave Meltzer that y'all keep reporting everything from. Yet, when a wrestler calls him out. Y'all wanna make excuses and talk about how wrong Meltzer is 🙄
They also regularly say to take meltzer with a pinch of salt.
They acknowledge Dave's lack of accuracy but do address the rumours
So are the lucha bros staying in AEW or going to the WWE? I was looking forward to the jump.
I'm sure they were too, but TK is petty
Where’s Andy Murray to pearl clutch about the Lucha Bros situation? I’m sure he will do mental gymnastics to justify how adding injury time to the Lucha Bros’ contract is a good thing.
It's not good, it's not bad, it's just common. The only difference between AEW and any other US-bound employer is that AEW never ceases wage payments, and thus effectively pays twice for the extension period.
Gee whiz, I'm an idiot.
Maybe just stop listening to dave
Andy Murray and Michael Sidgwick would both be doing it. GlazeCulture be crazy with that
"this happens all the time guys"
andy's the same one who went on forever about the "secret punk meetings" and the "plan to take down aew"
AEW literally does everything that they hated WWE for in the past 😂
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
yeah but they get a free pass because they have successfully taught their drones that they are "the little guy" fighting the good fight against "big bad wwe"
Adding time to a contract due to time missed to injury HAPPENS REGULARLY. Both AEW and WWE have done this with many wrestlers.
Yet everyone called WWE evil and a shitty company when they do/did it, yet yall are jumping through hoops and using mental gymnastics to make it seem like it’s ok that AEW is doing the exact same thing. “TheY sIgnEd a cOntRaCt”, no shit, but what happened to the TK that said at the beginning that he’s for the wrestlers and would never hold them hostage? Hypocrisy at its finest
yeah except WWE gets raked over the coals for it and headlines all over the place when they do it ... and TK is ONLY doing it to punish them for going to wwe
AEW has added time before know what you are talking about.
WWE does the same
@@TyMarshall007difference is WWE doesn't promote itself to wrestlers as a wrestlers paradise, that always does the right thing. It's shitty when either company does it.
Facts 👍
AEW & WWE both do it
@@TyMarshall007I didn’t see in the comment that it said WWE doesn’t…tribalism at work. AEW doesn’t need you to defend it
@@travismiller4320I'm not defending it I'm just saying both companies do the same and it sucks
TK holding them down like he is hostage those 2 to not sign in WWE
WWE does the same mate
@@TyMarshall007 nope loom there a lot of superstar are on the other brands they don't care if they go away or stay unlike tk the crybaby
@@markdimafelix WWE does the same they get injured out of 8 months and the 8 months is added to the contract due to it and to be honest it sucks
Please stfu about the lucha bros
Really just tony khan being petty. Lucha bros says they want to leave, khan says nope you won't leave.
They were happy to still get paid while being our injured 🤷♂️ if rey wants out early he can always pay back the money he took. Downside of salary work, they pay you so you owe them the hours
@jimbo_1312 yes they were paid a certain amount. However that amount is less if they don't add injury time. That is because now you have to continue to pay them, and knowing khan he'll have them stay at home and not take outside bookings just to spite them.
Also wrestlers are not trying to get injured, it's just a part of the job
@@jimbo_1312 you're acting like tony khan HAS to add the injury time on. he quite simply doesn't have to as it's just a clause in the contact. choosing to keep a guy for a year who had his foot out the door and you weren't planning on using him anyway just so that he doesn't go to a competitor is purely a petty decision.
it's not because they are leaving, it's because they are going to WWE, and he knows other people are gonna follow and leave his sinking ship
If Rey and Penta wouldn’t admit to AeW that they were leaving, then why would AEW not play hardball with them? Just seems like the Lucha Bros chose this path for themselves
how so? "hey my contract is up in 6 mos, so in 6 mos I'm leaving"? it's not about them leaving, its about them going to WWE and TK knows more will follow
AEW really making that jump to WWE really easy for them whe their contract extensions go up. Hope this isn't something Khan keeps doing
They deserved it: bragging about talking with WWE while on contract with AEW is fault, therefore they need to be punished.
Perfect time to try to be a real boss TK…. Where was all this big boss man shit when CM Punk and the Young Bucks were running you ragged?
@@BryRobinsonexactly. Tony is soft and probably not right for this carny business, but what else was he supposed to do start screaming and cursing at punk in the interview, run in there mid fight and smack them around himself? Because that would be soooooo much better than what went down.
@@elcactusdelamuerte506no, he should've make the two parties sit down like adults and work it out. It shouldn't have ever been allowed to reach that point. Nor should the all-in moment, none of that ever happens in WWE because there's a structure of people who know what they're doing.
@@BryRobinson "there's only so much he can do" he's the boss, he can quite literally make them do it if HE felt like they needed to. the Bucks refusal to sit down and talk says more about them than it does Khan.
@@rarelikecandy like I said Tk isn’t a carny unlike most wrestling promoters he’s used to running actual businesses. Tell me in what other industry can an employee insult another employee, start a fight with them and people would recommend you just need to force them into a room together to talk? None they would have took the exact same approach AEW did which was to suspend both parties involved while an investigation takes place.
Like I said TK isn’t built for the world of pro wrestling, but really should we be condemning someone for not being a carny egomaniac given the long long long list of examples of what those carny egomaniacs have done. Maybe it’s just me, but I think us moving away from the days of bad behaviour being rewarded, crimes being covered up, abuse being ignored, workers ruining their lives and people not getting paid isn’t a bad thing. Do we really want more guys like Ian Rotten, Herb Abrams and Vince McMahon popping up?
Adding time onto contracts needs to be stopped, 3 years should be 3 years
I seem to remember a long time ago AEW saying if people wanted to leave they wouldnt get pissy over contracts , yea about that...
Only Fenix has had time added, Penta is still going to WWE. Get your news right fellas
People complain about fox censoring wwe. Fox is going to do the same with aew
So tony is looking like vince mcmahon every day
AEW is not going to be taking SmackDown's spot on Fox. More than likely, AEW programming would go to cable television and/or a streaming outlet.
AEW to Fox, I'll be dropping Fox.
What the...?😮
AEW is at a all time low
Brain dead take 😂
@@TheMaddogmvf nah, take based on facts man, anything you can measure in aew is going down, ratings, attendance, merch, PPV buys... they put a curtain up at arthur ash cutting it in HALF for their big BLAND SHAM show... they are losing fans, and they are losing talent, why do you think TK is punishing the Lucha Bros?
