One of the most annoying things about Vince McMahon's time running WWE was when fans got behind someone but they couldn't go further because Vince "didn't get them".
The Brawl For All was the dumbest thing ever. If you’re going to have a legit shoot tournament, the least you could do is treat it as such i.e. The winner could be anybody. Not only was it grossly unfair to Bart Gunn, who should never have been punished for doing nothing wrong (especially since the Butterbean slaughter occurred at Wrestlemania 15). It was also an unfair dismissal of Steve Williams, given that it wouldn’t have been all that hard to rebuild Dr. Death’s momentum if they had really wanted to.
The real reason Russo came up with the whole thing was because he was ticked off by Bradshaw and wanted to see him get knocked out. Well at least we got that.
