- The backwaters of the Cedar Key area are a kayak angler's paradise. It takes a while to get used to the extreme low visibility, but this is what makes it possible to sneak up close to tailing black drum and rolling tarpon.

Yeah, this is all from Shell Mound. And if I can make a recommendation, get a pedal drive kayak if you can swing it. I wish I'd have spent an extra few hundred dollars to free up my hands.

Fish those mullet under a balloon or float; keep them up. It doesn't eliminate the shark bite, but it helps.
