Ranjana Gauhar is a renowned exponent of Odissi, one of India’s classical dance forms, which traces its origins to the ancient temples of Odisha. A celebrated artist and cultural ambassador, she has dedicated her life to preserving and promoting this traditional art form.
Recognized for her exceptional contributions to Indian classical dance, Ranjana Gauhar was honored with the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2003, one of India’s highest civilian awards. In 2007, she received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, bestowed by the President of India, further cementing her legacy as a leading figure in Indian performing arts.
