I like Sarah's jokes. And not because she's a hottie, but because she's a sweetheart and very likeable. I remember when I first started watching her channel a couple of years ago and Sarah would receive tools and other gifts that she needed in the mail. She started filming what she got from people in the mail. And whenever she got something that touched her heart, she would get teary-eyed because she appreciated the gesture. And I, and many others, have been her fan ever since. :)

Copper work hardens so over time that bent section (got harden from bending) then gets harder and harder just from the vibration of the car running . If there is more movement/wiggle the work hardening happens quicker. Crack ends could be drilled out and can be filled in with solder to fix it. You can anneal the copper a little too, at 800*F, do this before soldering. Don't go more then 800* or it will anneal even more and get too soft. I use a propane torch that is also compatible with MAPP (don't need to use MAPP), which are higher heat output torches with swirling flame.

I'm rebuilding 2011 Volvo C30 (6 speed) with a light front hit for my daughter's high school graduation. The PCV system gums up and then it blows oil all over the place. Pulled it, washed in hot soapy water and new diaphragm. The painted the housing with light silver caliper paint. I used my little home steam cleaner on top of Mcguiars Degreaser, slow but great results. The heat helps to break the tough stuff loose.

Mine was worse couldn't get the fuel line fitting loose so ended up taking it loose at the filter and pulling it through when I dropped the tank. My pump was so corroded lol.
A little bit of redesign and they could have made access from the top with the center console off. That's the part that chaps me the worst.

The grooves in the shaft is probably why they don't sell an official rebuild kit, that will likely still leak in a short amount of time. You might be able to press the shaft in extra (or less) and make sure it still fully engages the drive (does yotas drive the oil pump with the distributor?) that way the o-ring doesn't line up with the existing groove. Assuming you have adjustments on the cap side so you can compensate for it.
Though too late but you could possibly polish the groove out on a lathe and then find a o-ring that was slightly oversize.

The Barnhart Concise Dictionary of Etymology says it's a contraction of “will I, nill I” or “will he, nill he” or “will ye, nill ye.” The word “nill” is from the Old English “nyllan,” a combination of “ne” (no) and “willan” (will). The phrase “willy-nilly” means “unwillingly” or “haphazardly.
There; now you know, courtesy of Google.

One thing your MR2 videos have done for me. Whenever someone around me praises Japanese car reliability and design, I think of you and this never-ending project. That is funny because essentially the 951 repair workflow begins with “remove the airbox and turbocharger”. The classic 944t repair is the oil cooler and bottom balance shaft housing.

I have seen a clogged PCV exacerbate the distributor o-ring problem because of the high crankcase pressure. I can't remember if you replaced that when resealed the engine. I think it is awesome you rebuilt your distributor! My friends think I'm crazy when I rebuild my starters and alternators... I thought that was nice of Charlie to braze that coolant hose too.
Oh and you are right, lube in the hole is important before reinserting the seal and the shaft.

Nice work, Sarah. Over the course of my career, I've rebuilt hundreds of distributors and must say that you did a very nice job on that one. As always, keep up the great work.
