I like how important it was for Todoroki to thank the sidekicks. He seemed so quiet and weird in early seasons and now we know it's because he was never really taught how to be a person when he was growing up. He had to learn that from his classmates along the way.
Fun fact (since you mentioned it at the end): The manga just wrapped up (this last Sunday for those of us who read it on Viz's website)! Horikoshi-sensei can take a nice vacation now (hopefully!!!)!
"I know the manga is still going, but it's finishing up soon" I know this must've come to Patreon earlier so that statement would've still been true at the time of recording it.....but hearing that sentence after having read the final chapter three days ago was so sad 💔I already miss it so much
Just a note that Horikoshi confirmed in a volume extra that nobody died in the fire Dabi caused on the facility. It was small & weak so was easily put out. He didn’t kill all those kids.
Let's be real here the whole Todoroki drama is one of the best written parts of MHA. It hits hard when Dabi visits his home again and sees that in 3 years nothing really changed and Endevour is like "Oh no, my son died, anyway let's go back to training Shoto as my successor". And Dabi praying to his own alter shows that the Toya from the past as died.
I really wanna shoutout the animation team in the final blow scene that was gorgeous and so sad at the same time seeing there kid selves there and i really wanna shoutout the va performances from shotos and especially dabis aka toya cause the way he did his voice in the special hospital is amazing cause you hear toya you hear toya who was trying to be better didnt understand but you still heard a little bit of dabi which showed the beginning of him as dabi which keep in mind it is the same va still doing it
Something I can’t say enough is how I couldn’t imagine being in Touya’s place in those flashbacks. Like, he burned himself up, and the next thing he knew he was several years older and looked completely different and had a different voice. And then he went home, only to realize that his father had essentially just continued on. All of Touya’s fears had essentially come to life. It’s also honestly super sad that Shoto feels the need to carry all of the family’s hardships on his back when none of this should really be his responsibility. Unfortunately, Endeavor spent the last month or so completely neglecting Shoto and Touya, so he’s gonna have to fight All for One now instead, which sucks since Touya seems to really want to talk to him instead of Shoto, and I can’t say I blame him. Still though, I hope that Shoto can get through to Touya in some way. Touya may not want to admit it, but they’re more alike than he thinks..
5:44 so about Toya burning down the orphanage, his flames were actually pretty weak so he wasn’t able to fully burn the place down and also no one died, however the doctor who works for AFO thought that the orphanage that he put up would get exposed and so he actually put the blame on the sunny guy caretaker for starting the fire and thus making the fire accident not make any headline news and protecting his dark secret about the orphanage
The tragedy of Toya 'dying' is that Endeavor got even worse because he felt he couldn't go back after Toya died. So while Toya thought nothing had changed, the truth is Endeavor was worse than he'd ever been. In terms of AFO showing up to pick up an injured Toya, I feel like he would've absolutely watched Endeavor's family. It wouldn't surprise me if, while hating All Might one day, AFO noticed Endeavor's hatred for him too and thought "Ah, a like-minded person! And the number 2 hero? I can use this! :D " As for the daycare center fire, the anime made it seem a lot more ferocious for some reason. There was an extra page Horikoshi wrote to give a little more detail on what happened, beyond the image of the fire at the center (that was a lot smaller): "It might be hard to tell from the visuals, but Toya got into an argument with Haruaki Sun-Sun and unleashed some fire before fleeing the facility. His weakened flames didn't burn the place to the ground though. The fire was put out easily enough. Fearing that his wicked deeds would be exposed, the doctor blamed Haruaki Sun-Sun for accidentally starting the fire, thus protecting the facility's dark secret. Since no one died and the story didn't make the news, heroes and the authorities were unfortunately none the wiser about the doctor's hidden atrocities. Maybe if the fire had been a bigger deal, the world wouldn't have ended up in its current state. This was an ironic crossroads, in a way." -Volume 35, pg 188
you know something I realize the way Toya eyes act it’s like something dark and full of hatred is controlling him from the moment he looked at his father and the moment he looked at his mother saying all those things that are true and hurtful It’s like what a mastermind supervillain would say and that’s actually dabi inside him, making him say that because no wonder he felt bad about what he said to his parents cause he was losing control of his head of his flames That are becoming hatred and abandonment imagining the reality he sees Why he wouldn’t want to accept the real reality of letting go of what he hopes to be for his father. That’s a real kind origin villain story.
10:48 I’m surprised that zamber made that comment since we have gotten male fanservice before in the series which she herself noticed back in the swimming pool episode that happened back in the first episode of season 3
It is rather fitting that Zamber recently watched the episode of Fairy Tail where she learned Ultear's backstory, who was also taken by a villain as a child, ran away back home, only to spot her parent and not go back when she saw him with another kid. Like with Ultear, I believe things would be different had Toya gone to see them. Endeavor would have done something different after seeing what he became. I'm not sure how it would have gone, as it could be very bad or passively good. Even if he didn't show it, he does care for his children on some level and told Toya to stop using his quirk because it was hurting him. He could have handled that situation better, he needs to spend time with his kids outside of training. Ur was at least a loving parent.
After watching this episode and discovering that the resentment that dabi has which is actually what’s keeping him alive knowing that someday he’s going to die which I think might be a possibility of what’s going to happen in the new manga chapter of the epilogue of the todoroki family where we might the last moment of dabi/toya todoroki because if his resentment is gone then that means he’ll die for real and judging by the condition he’s in that just proves it
Hi guys fun fact Todoroki doesnt have a burn scar, its frost burn after his mom dropped the water on his face she came back to her senses and tried using her ice quirk to soothe the burn

I'm scared for Zamber once she reaches the latest dub episode.

@@IAmZamberGurll this is the last battle you should always have oshy
The more I think about Toya, the more I see a broken child in a man’s body with dad issues.
I always wondered what exactly happened after Dabi/Toya burned himself and damn I just feel bad for him.
