Baba just played back my childhood in good details. This goes to show that good brain and sharp memory will elevate your skills. Thanks Egbon. I miss the Eagles of 80s and 90s.
These are the legends of yesteryears who gave their best to the nation, not the Mediocres we have now, everything is about money. Dimeji, you're an amazing player, Nigerians loves you and all the players of your generation.
Elegbete thank you so much for this great interview. Those of us, who watched Dimeji and the generation of amazing players Nigeria produced, will never forget this great time in Nigerian football. I always remembered this man, always asking , where is he ? How is he etc ?Am glad he is fine and well. May the Most High grant him many more healthy years , prospering and doing well in life. We were all entertained by their great talents, great matches, great victories they had.
Kabongo ... very talented and playful...I watched the saudi 89 team camping at Liberty stadium. It was fun watching them. Angus Ikeji was one of the goalkeepers then.
The “ Wonder Boy” Oladimeji Mohammed Lawal. With his Golden Chain around his neck mesmerizing the crowd and outpacing his opponents from the right flank during his playing days. We can never forget how you brought so much joy to all of us. Stay healthy and happy ❤
Great Interview. A very good player and thank God he is so well spoken with fluent communication skills. He gave a lesson of life here. Interesting. The miracle of Dharan he played in will forever be a mikestone. 😅
Ia nice seeing and hearing graet player in person of Dimeji Lawal this close. I watched him on TV at those junior world cups. We missed him at super eagles.
Happy listening to you dimeji as I usually call you wen both play together at liberty stadium. I saw you last 92 at Adamasingba Nigeria against Cameron. How is Fatai, Emofodu etc, we lost P osondu May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. How is ke ke doing hope to see you in person one day again. Stay bless Taiye
He was part of the Eaglet team of '87. Graduated to the U20 with Peter Ogaba, Phillip Osondu, 'Bouncing' Bawa, Ugbade from the '85 Eaglets. In the U20 team proper he had Samuel Elijah, Tunde Charity, Jimoh 'Tyson' Balogun Christopher Nwosu, Mutiu Adepoju, Christopher Ohehe etc. I think this should have started with an intro, it will raise the interest of younger viewers.
Thanks for reminding me of the most skilful U 17 Team Nigeria ever produced after the 85 Team, and also the U 17 captained by Wilson Oruma 1993. They should have won , but lost on penalties. Thats why I prefer the military to democracy.
@@obynoomere1280Lemmy Isa! A legend too. The "catch a ball and a smile" goal keeper according to the u17 world cup TV commentator then. God bless those guys for fun memories they left us with 😊😊.
Dazzling winger..... 7 aye! Damman Miracle! That team was a great team..... Dimeji was actually from the Scotland'87 squad, if i am not mistaken? Touchline dribbler, what a time to be alive...God's blessing always, thanks Elegbete!
I was in primary 3, 1989 team, still remember a lot of them, Samuel Elija,Christopher Ohenhen,Nduka Ugbade,Mike Onyemachara, Angus Ikeji ,Emeka Amadi,Philip Osondu,Dimeji Lawal,Peter Ogaba..... Coached by Tunder Disu
Nigeria..soo much history not many of them went unto the eagles but it was a very competitive time with rhe wrsterhof era and strong senior older players then we had okocha and so on later..hope u had a fairly good european career life is short in sports remember michael owen and even marco van basten retired prematurely
Thank you Elegbete for the memories. Dimeji Lawal was mercurial in his days though we didn't feature much for super eagles maybe due to injuries or supposed mafians in the team.
The Darman miracle was the first of its kind for me cos I started watching football just before then. I started understanding what it means to come back from a goal down let alone 4goals as time went on.
Demeji Lawal Scored The Third Goal Against Togo In The Nations Cup/ AFCON Qualifying Match For Senegal 1992. Uche Okechukwu Scored The First Goal With A Glancing Header. Sincerely, I have never heard of this man, but he seems to be a gr8 player, pls is it possible to watch some of his clips, especially that match he scored on his debut...

I think dt 4:0 game upfront we are talking about was with USSR then😮
Hmmm...time and chance happeneth to them all... I grew up hearing about him, after Saudi 89, he kind of just disappeared and I always wondered what happened to him. It's good to see he's doing well. It will be good to see clips of these legends in their playing days.
Oh, what a coincidence misfortunes from Real Madrid FC &Coach Clemence Westerhoff! God will restore your loses and honour you through other means in Jesus mighty name. I personally was disturbed for not hearing anything about your playing career after Saudi's 89.

Yes Peter Ogaba was the youngest in the squad.

Good old days
Olivet Heights Oyo is so great that the name crept to this interview
Imagine being motivated by a watch alarm😃. Destiny has a way of pointing you in the right direction.
Exactly. And imagine being that same teenager lumped in with veteran players motivated by Porches and Ferraris, trying to understand each other.
