    Elegbete thank you so much for this great interview.Those of us, who watched Dimeji and the generation of amazing players Nigeria produced, will never forget this great time in Nigerian football. I always remembered this man, always asking , where is he ? How is he etc ?Am glad he is fine and well. May the Most High grant him many more healthy years , prospering and doing well in life. We were all entertained by their great talents, great matches, great victories they had.

    Kabongo ... very talented and playful...I watched the saudi 89 team camping at Liberty stadium. It was fun watching them. Angus Ikeji was one of the goalkeepers then.

    He was part of the Eaglet team of '87. Graduated to the U20 with Peter Ogaba, Phillip Osondu, 'Bouncing' Bawa, Ugbade from the '85 Eaglets. In the U20 team proper he had Samuel Elijah, Tunde Charity, Jimoh 'Tyson' Balogun Christopher Nwosu, Mutiu Adepoju, Christopher Ohehe etc. I think this should have started with an intro, it will raise the interest of younger viewers.

      Thanks for reminding me of the most skilful U 17 Team Nigeria ever produced after the 85 Team, and also the U 17 captained by Wilson Oruma 1993. They should have won , but lost on penalties.
      Thats why I prefer the military to democracy.

      Nope. Dimeji was of the Canada '87 team. Scotland '89 was Kayode Keshinero etc

    I was in primary 3, 1989 team, still remember a lot of them, Samuel Elija,Christopher Ohenhen,Nduka Ugbade,Mike Onyemachara, Angus Ikeji ,Emeka Amadi,Philip Osondu,Dimeji Lawal,Peter Ogaba..... Coached by Tunder Disu

    Nigeria..soo much history not many of them went unto the eagles but it was a very competitive time with rhe wrsterhof era and strong senior older players then we had okocha and so on later..hope u had a fairly good european career life is short in sports remember michael owen and even marco van basten retired prematurely

    As a very young boy....I watched Saudi 89 ooooooo
    Nduka Ugbade, Mutiu Adepoju, Oladimeji Lawal, Ajibade Babalade, Mike Onyemachara, Philip Osondu, Thompson Oliha, Angus Ikeji, Christopher Ohenhen and I think Peter Ogaba if am still correct......I try ooooooo
    We played Saudi Arabia on preliminary stage, and I think USA with that their fantastic goal keeper Kessy Kela.
    I think dt 4:0 game upfront we are talking about was with USSR then😮

      Philip Osondu was not in that team, same as Thompson Oliha. Think of Samuel Elijah, Balogun, etc.

    Hmmm...time and chance happeneth to them all... I grew up hearing about him, after Saudi 89, he kind of just disappeared and I always wondered what happened to him. It's good to see he's doing well. It will be good to see clips of these legends in their playing days.
