I've been in love with The Offspring since 94'. They lost alot of their American fan base but never lost me. I FINALLY caught a show just last week and I gotta admit I was a little worried when they came out luke warm but once they saw the huge turn out was for them and not Sublime (who was headlining) they felt the love and by the end of the song was on fire! The rest of their hour was everything I ever thought it would be and I hope they'll be touring more in the US now that they've seen just how much we love them! Long live The Offspring!!!

I know this comment was made 5 years ago, but I gotta chime in. I just saw them last week in Winnipeg with Simple Plan who was also headlining. Same thing. Although there were a lot of Simple Plan fans, or just people who knew their songs enough to sing along. Once they left the stage and, even with The Offspring's intermission tune, people were cheering louder. After the break they started with Come Out And Play and we all got up dancing and singing. It was an awesome show. I wanted to see what other people were saying about their shows on tour. One redditor said he was frequenting the Arby's for his meals here and she said he was super chill and even allowed her to have a photo with him. Glad he enjoyed being here. Apparently the crowd was better this time than the last time they played in Winnipeg. Either that or it was just a way to get us more hyped up lol. I'm pretty sure bands do that, too.
I still remember the first time I heard this song. I was 9, and my brother had recorded the music video at his friend's house because we didn't have MTV. He brought the VHS home, rewinded the tape and played the clip. I couldn't take my eyes off, I didn't know what the hell was going on. 46 been around band members in the 90s you grew up in this scene, 16 years old and already have a 1000 fans from play grunge songs with your friends. These were the years.
I was at this show and concur, this was a great snapshot of the SLC punk scene in the 90's. I was a skinny high school girl who loved the pit, and anytime I started to fall, there was always somewhere there to catch me. We punched, laughed, made out, pushed each other around, and were tight AF. I loved our little skater/punk scene.
@@flamingcherryc I was there too. Crazy show for sure. The fairpark had some of the best shows in that era. And the salt lake straight edge kids are even in the video which for good or bad is part of the 90s slc scene history. I was 16 at the time. So much fun.
When you lose a song that accompanied you into your adolescence (I was 14 years old when he turns this piece) and finds him after 25 years old, you will be shining the rock 90's sound was essential, purely, fabulous thanks to this single
This is where it all started for me (sort of). I grew up as a Christian and didn't listen to anything heavy until I got in high school in the early 90's when Metallica's Black Album and The Offfspring's Smash came out about that same time. These two albums opened my eyes and changed my life. I still maintain my beliefs but this music has helped me through many hard times in life and I thank God they were there to keep me sane through it all.
I'm 43 And These Kids Now A Days Will Never Understand Were We Came From Growing Up 😢 We Are Dinosaurs Now Unfortunately 🦕 But Our Generation Kicked Ass And No One Can Take That From Us !!!
MTV became the most popular radio station in the country practically overnight. It was revolutionary to the way music was consumed and the way culture and fashion was influenced. Sucks they lost the core value of what they were. Probably for the best though if you think about it because the music of 2010 and onward that would be on MTV is all shit, unless they were smart and went back to breaking underground artists. Think about how many bands people discovered just by them being watched by Beavis and butthead.
How much we loved this song, how often we listened to it. I'm listening to it right now as a tribute to you. Spread your wings and fly, finally free from your demons and fears. Rest in peace, Vic 🐧
Absolutely. The message of the song and the accompanying video is so accurate. Something we all go through on different levels at one point or another.... Wow. Ok i just replied to a 9yr old comment 😂
when i was 12 i imagined the video to this song to be something like me being followed by a hooded figure. in the end, the figure takes off his hood and reveals himself to be a clone of me (gotta get away from me) and then this clone of me points a gun and shoots me in the head.

Nino Falletta same here man.
Nino Falletta Cool! I can't understand those who listen to metal and say other rock genres are shit
@@andibirta9776 aslo. I'm a punker and a grunger so I sometimes listen to metal
Same here. These guys started everything for me though
Nino Falletta Offspring have very much songs whith influences of Hardcore Punk
WOW this album came out the year me and my wife got married 30 years ago 1994 I bought this album on cassette before CDs even were out yet blow's my mind where does the time go still the best band out of the grunge era and very underrated
been a big fan of The Offspring for s long time. never have the lyrics of a song hit me harder then this, honestly, know what its like to want to get away from everything,, even yourself
Still one of the best songs ever... Back to the 90ies..till now
This song is nearly 30 years old and it still slaps
One of the GREATEST BANDS EVER!!!!
I first heard this song when I moved to Canada in the 90s, what a song to introduce to a new immigrant kid 💪.
46 been around band members in the 90s you grew up in this scene, 16 years old and already have a 1000 fans from play grunge songs with your friends. These were the years.
Probably the best video ever to show what it is to be on the mosh pit,the energy, the intensity, the friendship, the happiness
Good music never dies
When you lose a song that accompanied you into your adolescence (I was 14 years old when he turns this piece) and finds him after 25 years old, you will be shining the rock 90's sound was essential, purely, fabulous thanks to this single
Same thing happened to me lately with King For a Day, FNM
This is where it all started for me (sort of). I grew up as a Christian and didn't listen to anything heavy until I got in high school in the early 90's when Metallica's Black Album and The Offfspring's Smash came out about that same time. These two albums opened my eyes and changed my life. I still maintain my beliefs but this music has helped me through many hard times in life and I thank God they were there to keep me sane through it all.
a very underated song this is up there with the greats
Rolling and smoking........ Long time ago...... Married with kids now, how time has passed.
haha same here...

merc1846 Agreed. Sometimes I feel like I was 25 just last week & not the 40 I am very fast approaching...

It's having the kids that make you feel old 😂 little buzz kills 😂 x
I’m 47 and Offspring was so present in my life in the end of my teenage
Now I’m 48 🎂🥳
Remember listening to this album on repeat lying in my room as a teenager. Still has the same impact as it did 15 years ago.
Been 25 years now u finally leave that room?
Miss these guys and green day. 90s/00s was the best
I'm 43 And These Kids Now A Days Will Never Understand Were We Came From Growing Up 😢 We Are Dinosaurs Now Unfortunately 🦕 But Our Generation Kicked Ass And No One Can Take That From Us !!!

I miss the good old days man. Ya get home and throw on some MTV and you knew it was going to be cool and interesting
Best Offspring song hands down
52 yo and this is how you get motivated to do things!
How much we loved this song, how often we listened to it. I'm listening to it right now as a tribute to you. Spread your wings and fly, finally free from your demons and fears. Rest in peace, Vic 🐧
I miss those years
I love the feeling right before the mosh begins, this video captures that feeling perfectly.
Man I really miss the grunge/punk/alt rock of the 90’s. Didn’t know how good I had it as a teenager back then. 43 now and wish my kids could experience life back then like me…well most of it haha
Entre mis canciónes favoritas que hayan existido en las distíntas épocas del Rock...❤
True …this one of the masterpiece of music industry …punk …always …
Best song by the Offspring IMO. Still hard to top that chorus 20+ years later
Dirty Magic then this are my favorite Offspring tracks.
1991-95. 4 year period that will NEVER be touched in terms of everything cool, exciting, real.
Before or after
Before and after Nirvana
@@okirrama3587 Nirvana died with Kurt, does it means that The Offspring will die with Dexter?
