MTV became the most popular radio station in the country practically overnight. It was revolutionary to the way music was consumed and the way culture and fashion was influenced. Sucks they lost the core value of what they were. Probably for the best though if you think about it because the music of 2010 and onward that would be on MTV is all shit, unless they were smart and went back to breaking underground artists. Think about how many bands people discovered just by them being watched by Beavis and butthead.

I FINALLY caught a show just last week and I gotta admit I was a little worried when they came out luke warm but once they saw the huge turn out was for them and not Sublime (who was headlining) they felt the love and by the end of the song was on fire! The rest of their hour was everything I ever thought it would be and I hope they'll be touring more in the US now that they've seen just how much we love them! Long live The Offspring!!!

I know this comment was made 5 years ago, but I gotta chime in. I just saw them last week in Winnipeg with Simple Plan who was also headlining. Same thing. Although there were a lot of Simple Plan fans, or just people who knew their songs enough to sing along. Once they left the stage and, even with The Offspring's intermission tune, people were cheering louder. After the break they started with Come Out And Play and we all got up dancing and singing. It was an awesome show. I wanted to see what other people were saying about their shows on tour. One redditor said he was frequenting the Arby's for his meals here and she said he was super chill and even allowed her to have a photo with him. Glad he enjoyed being here. Apparently the crowd was better this time than the last time they played in Winnipeg. Either that or it was just a way to get us more hyped up lol. I'm pretty sure bands do that, too.

I grew up as a Christian and didn't listen to anything heavy until I got in high school in the early 90's when Metallica's Black Album and The Offfspring's Smash came out about that same time. [Verse 1]
    Getting edgy all the time
Someone around me just a step behind
It's kind of scary, the shape I'm in
Walls are shaking and they're closing in
Too fast or a bit too slow
Paranoid of people and it's starting to show
One guy that I can't shake
Over my shoulder is a big mistake
    [Chorus]
Sitting on the bed and I'm lying wide awake
There's demons in my head and it's more than I can take
I think I'm on a roll, but I think it's kind of weak
Saying all I know is "I gotta get away from me"
    [Verse 2]
Tell you, something just ain't right
My head is on loose but my shoes are tight
Avoidin' my friends, they all bug
Life is like a riddle and I'm really stumped
If you reason, don't you know
Your own preoccupation is where you'll go
    Being followed, look around
It's only my shadow creeping on the ground
    [Chorus]
Sitting on the bed and I'm lying wide awake
There's demons in my head and it's more than I can take
I think I'm on a roll, but I think it's kind of weak
Saying all I know is "I gotta get away from me"
    [Post-Chorus]
I gotta get away from me
I gotta get away from me
    [Bridge]
    Woah-oh-oh, woah-oh-oh
    Woah-oh-oh, woah-oh-oh
    [Chorus]
Sitting on the bed and I'm lying wide awake
There's demons in my head and it's more than I can take
I think I'm on a roll, but I think it's kind of weak
Saying all I know is "I gotta get away from me"
