Tommy the Clown is an L.A. legend who invented krumping. He started a program to get kids off the streets through dance. Utter icon.
The tattoo line wasn’t about J Cole. It was about Drake. He slept with Lil Wayne’s girl, then got a tattoo of Wayne.

Kendrick never bullied Drake. It was Drake himself and his fans who were antagonizing Kendrick. They taunted him to drop his diss tracks. Kendrick warned Drake multiple times to keep it rap and strictly between them. Instead, Drake mentioned Kendrick's fiancee for a second time, accused him of domestic violence, said his son wasn't actually his and made a mockery of Black Americans being enslaved. That's when the gloves came off. Drake started a battle/beef with someone from the hood of Compton, who's an actual lyricist and gang affiliated. That lame Canadian got everything he asked for and deserved.

Tommy the Clown is a neighborhood icon. He started a program, encouraging young people to dance, "crumping" instead of gangbanging. TDE is the company KL started out with and all those folks are from "his hood". One of the best and the most viewed parts of this video is when KL and the family are dancing in the "family home"! Remember when Drake accused KL of "DV" domestic violence, abandoning his family and living a single life in NY, and stating that one of his children was by his "business partner and friend Dave Free? Well, KL responded with the family having a great time! Did you notice that Whitney was wearing a "wife beater" T-shirt while "crip walking" all over Drake's grave? Also, the shot where KL is dressed in the "business suit" and shaking hands with Dave Free who was also wearing a "wife beater" was funny as hell too!

Facts. The only thing is the style of dance Tommy popularized was "clowning." Some of the older teens branched off and created krumping, it was more aggressive/angsty compared to the fun/silly dance style of clowning. There's a doc/movie based on this called RIZE, It follows both crews to battlezone, where they battle against each other.

  • @OldManAlex719
    @OldManAlex719 Месяц назад +201

Kendrick's videos are all steeped in symbolism and allegory. The Cell Block One bar was a reference to a project Milla Jovovich did when she was much younger (she did start off as a child actress when she met the man that would become her first partner at 16). The scene where Whitney was dancing with the kids is a direct clapback against Drake's allegation that Kendrick beats on her and that the kids aren't his and most likely Dave Free's. Welp, it was Kendrick AND Dave Free that directed the video, showing that they have a solid friendship and professional relationship, but if you also paid attention, Whitney was wearing a wife-beater... while dancing... happily... with the kids.
In the beginning of the video, you saw Tommy the Clown, who is a HUGE positive influence in Southern California, starting dance programs for Black youth and organizing community events geared toward getting them away from gangs and thug culture.
The owl at the end, is Kendrick's way of telling Drake "I'm caging you up and there's nothing you can do to stop it", which is also a reference to the phrase "A caged bird only sings", calling out Drake for singing on most of his songs.
Overall, this was a MASSIVE middle finger sent Drake's way... All because Drake opened his big pole holster talking trash about Kendrick's family... the same Kendrick that won multiple Grammys and a Pulitzer for his work.

The “snippet” at the beginning of the video is in fact a teaser for a new Kendrick song that we are all hyped about but he has done snippets like that before and never dropped the song so the fanbase is kinda awaiting his possible new album that snippet may be from

I’m always excited to see perspectives from outside the culture. The line slept with Wayne’s girl when he was in jail that’s conniving then got his face tatted like a bitch apologizing in in reference to Drake getting Lil Wayne’s face tatted on him as an apology for sleeping with his girlfriend. 😊 I absolutely loved this video.

The owl in the cage symbolized
    "only cage birds sing".
Hints the color of the owl, since Drake is light skin and that he's a singer and not a rapper.

The “like a bitch apologizing” line wasn’t referencing J Cole. It was about Lil Wayne.
He first pointed out how drake slept w Wayne’s girl while he was in jail. And then mentions the fact that Drake actually got a tattoo of Wayne’s face. So Kendrick’s saying that getting the tattoo was like he was apologizing for cheating w her.

He only mentions Cole 1 tome. That line about the tat is all about Drake. He effed Wayne's girl while he was I. Jail and then got his face tatted. Smh. Also.....yall can't just show him this video with no backstory lmao. Got listen to like that, 6:16 in la, euphoria and meet the grahams. I mean taylor made free style and family matters by Drake too for more context lol.

9:34 he’s not talking about jcole the lyrics were “f’d on wayne’s girl while he was in jail that’s conniving ,then got his face tatted like a b*tch apologizing” cause drake literally does have a tattoo of little wayne’s face , and most fans were questioning why he did that

  • @Shay45

No. When Lil Wayne was in jail Drake slept with his girl. As an apology Drake tattooed Lil Wayne’s name or face or something.
Drake owes a lot of his success to Lil Wayne
