A full driving test route driven and fully talked through. Including Spriral roundabouts, bus lanes and car parks. Common test mistakes that people make are talked about, and tips on how to avoid them are given. This video was filmed in Edinburgh at the Currie test centre in Scotland. The information would apply around the UK and hopefully can be applied to many driving test centres.

Great videos Angus really helped my daughter pass her test.
Thanks for the comment Jamie, great to hear your daughter was successful.
Hi, your videos are very helpful for currie test center routes. Please make more videos, especially the bypass. Thanks.
Hi thanks for the comment, I will add the bypass to my list and see if I can make something that’s interesting and makes sense. Haha
I passed this week and your videos of this area really helped, thank you :)

Thanks Kimberley glad you have found them helpful. Good luck with driving test. I’m sure you will be great 👍🏼
Enjoy the video it is very clear. I cycled a lot from union canal to Sains or from westside plaza via lanark road to Sains.
De Light Gorman thanks for your comment, glad you liked it and it made sense.
when you come off the round around from right hand land, do you straight to the left hand lane afterwards? is this a general rule?
will i get serious fault if i give way to park car on my side rather than squeeze through while there is incoming car towards me?
hi again Angus please how can you differentiate a 30mph and a 40mph I notice that sometimes its difficult to know when you are in a 40mph most especially.
Thank you so much for the prompt response as I have my drive test tomorrow.
Hi if the road has street lights it’s default speed would be 30mph. Unless signs state otherwise. So if it is 20mph then there should be a small 20mph sign on every third or fourth lamp post. This would be the same if it was a 40 or a 50.
So if it’s got street lights and no signs saying anything else then it would be 30mph.
Good luck with the test, I’m sure you will do well.
Hi Angus , can you tell me about the bud lanes. I have test in currie but I’m not familiar with the bud lane times. Will the examiner let me know ?
Hi Connor, the majority of bus lanes in Edinburgh are only in action between 0730-0930am and then in the afternoon between 4pm-6:30pm ruclips.net/video/DOjtSDwbNRc/видео.html That video hopefully will explain what you are looking for. I hope that helps. Good luck with your test.
nice video . i have a small doubt to clarify . In calder junction , if iam coming from heriot watt and goin to the city bypass South / Berwick Upon Tweed (A1) A720 , which lane shall i take in the roundabout ? the middle one or the right ? is that a spiral roundabout ?
Hi thanks for your question. Hopefully this video will explain ruclips.net/video/CDeQC2p8-lc/видео.html it doesn’t really matter which lane you use just as long as you follow it properly. Hope that helps.
Thankyu
what is ''keep clear'' at the round about mean?
If traffic is queued then don’t stop on the keep clear as it will block the road.
Thanks for the video! Is the 24 hour bus lane on Glasgow Road changed as you mention the bus lane near Sainsbury’s is the only 24 hour bus lane now for Currie?
Hi, thanks for your question the bus lane on Glasgow road is a little different as you are allowed to drive in it. You just need to come out of it before the end as the lane comes to an end. It is covered in a previous video. If you watch this video at 3:30 it will be covered. ruclips.net/video/aP8kqy47NhY/видео.html Hope that helps.
AngusDriving.co.uk | Edinburgh Driving Lessons Thank you Angus!
Thanks so much for the video. Just a quick question it it okay to press clutch and break together if your are turning left/right on narrow road or this would be coasting?
Hi Arun, it would depend on what speed you were travelling at. You would normally only push the clutch down if you are changing gear or stopping once driving. For turning left or right the clutch would usually be up as it will hold and keep the car going along at a certain speed. There are some scenarios where you might need to press the clutch down. For example if as you turn into a narrow road you can’t see if it is clear to continue, you might press the clutch down and gently edge to where you can see. I hope that makes sense.
Well done top vt
Thanks Stephen glad you liked it. Will try and do some more once lockdown eases.
Could it be possible to be asked to carry out a reverse bay park or can you only be asked go into them forward them reverse out?
Great question Taylor. It depends on which test centre you sit your driving test at. If the test centre has its own car park then you may be asked to reverse into a space. Currie where this video was filmed doesn’t have it’s own car park. So you will not be asked to reverse into a space there.
@@AngusDriving I’m sitting my driving test at the Currie test centre so this was very helpful, thank you!!
Great, well best of luck 👍🏼
Hello, just wondering if your back doing lessons?
Yeah, lessons resumed on the 24th of August which is great news.
AngusDriving.co.uk | Edinburgh Driving Lessons aw right I was just unable to book through your website
at 5:19 is it a mistake if I go over the right line to that lane and take the same exit (right)?
If you had a reason to cross the line like an obstruction or something that would be okay. However I don’t know what your reason to cut it would be? So it would be marked down I believe. Why do you think you would need to go over it?
Hi, at 5.00 the sign has two exits before the straight ahead exit, for the second exit would that be in the left lane, but if the lane had a left turn only sign would I need to go in to the middle lane (if there was one) to take that second exit?
Hi in the case of the roundabout at 5.00 the first left is for buses only so we aren’t allowed to turn into there. So the second left (marked for Kilmarnock) you would use the left lane but not signaling left until you have passed the the first left (where the buses turn in) you are still turning left so the left turn only road marking still applies.
You would anticipate coming up to a roundabout that turning left whether it is the 1st or 2nd exit that you would use the left lane. Unless road markings state otherwise. I hope that makes sense.
@@AngusDriving thank you!
Failed my test today with 3 minors and one serious for use of mirrors when changing direction. I don’t know if I should book another test now.
Aw sorry to hear that Lucy. Did you understand the feedback the examiner gave you?
@@AngusDriving Basically I got the serious because of the mirror checks when changing lanes, it was at 9am and I was coming up to a bus lane but it was in operation and signalled right but didn’t move over and just stopped, it was a silly but serious mistake and I think I was just over cautious that I was going to pull out in front of the driver but the examiner said I had plenty of time to move over and that I should have looked in the mirror more and I would have seen that. If I hadn’t of did that mistake I would have passed! So I booked another test.
Do you need to signal right when you are going to pass parked cars and you are going into the other lane? If so, do you need to signal back after you've passed the parked cars? Many thanks!
I don't think so I say no.
By watching Angus video I come to know that you have to do Mirror check that is (MM)
In a second roundabout in a video I know you have to stop in a right lane but why you keeping in a aright lane your going to the second exit 12 o’clock
Hi Mohammed, it’s common that if a roundabout doesn’t have a right turn on it that straight on will be marked in the right lane. So usually if you can only go left or straight on the two lanes will be divided between the two exits. Otherwise nobody would ever use the rights lane at at the roundabout. I hope that makes sense.
Is it optional in your driving test to have your handbrake on when stopped waiting in traffic, lights etc?
Hi yeah that’s right it’s optional. It is a very useful tool when stopped on a hill. So I would use it for a hill start but on the flat or downhill it is completely up to you.
