    Hi Gary, how are you getting the thumbnail video of you in the corner even when you're in presentation mode in Keynote? That's what I'm struggling with. Thanks!

    • @macmost
      @macmost  4 года назад +2

      I create my tutorials using pro screen recording software (Screenflow).

    • @TravelingwithKristin
      @TravelingwithKristin 4 года назад

      macmostvideo the problem I was having is that when it goes into full screen presentation mode, I can’t record my video anymore. But I found two workarounds. 1) Doing a QuickTime or other video recording in the background while recording my presentation in keynote like you showed here. 2) Doing the same thing but using my Canon instead of webcam. Then I can bring my thumbnail video in later in Adobe Premiere Pro or FCP.

    • @macmost
      @macmost  4 года назад +1

      @@TravelingwithKristin That works. Using Screenflow allows you to do it with your webcam and then the full-screen Keynote presentation is in one track, and you camera and mic is in another track. Then you can adjust all sorts of things and edit right in Screenflow afterwards. Probably doesn't matter for a video here or there, but I do 5 a week, so I need a smooth and quick workflow.

    Gary, first time ever for me to actually make a suggestion, but I have been using Keynote-to-Movie for several years for my English-language RUclips vids.
    I found that, having made a narration mistake, it was often hard to re-record seamlessly. However, by inserting 'dummy' slides of just one-second duration, set to automatically transition, I can easily find a spot where I know I was not talking and restart in the following slide.

    I notice that you mentioned in the comments, responding to several questions about what you actually used to create the video we are watching, and you replied "ScreenFlow". So, I checked out some videos on ScreenFlow and it occurs to me that if you simply played your Keynote video in a window, you could record your narration using ScreenFlow, plus get your own 'talking head' recorded. Or am I missing something? Thanks, by the way, for an informative video!

    I was hoping this could be done with an iPad, which is all I have. Maybe you should have said "...create a narrated video slideshow using only Keynote for Mac." I think I'm going to end up just projecting the presentation on a screen and standing in front of that while recording myself with my PC's onboard cam.

    Just out of curiosity, do all of you who do these KeyNote tutorials belong to some sort of association and did you all agree not to share how to manually advance slides while you're recording your audio for any particular reason?

      Not sure what you mean by that, but are you trying to ask how to manually advance through slides? You can click on the slide, use the spacebar, or use the right arrow key.
