    Awesome! Maybe a top or a blanket. I was thinking of making squares of different mosaic patterns and then attaching all the squares to make a blanket, but still thinking about it. Will try and watch rest of video later. Thanks for showing us! I did see a lady who taught how to do it so you don't have all the ends to weave in, but it would waste a lot of yarn if doing a very large blanket. When I tried a small sample reading a pattern, it was easy to lose my place. I had to keep counting or checking it off on the pattern. But I suppose it's worth it once all finished! Congrats on your son's wedding!

    • @FranniesHair
      @FranniesHair  3 года назад +1

      That's a great idea...mosaic squares. There are a few ways to finish off a mosaic project without weaving in all the ends. I'll be showing one in my mosaic tote bag tutorial that is coming out shortly. I'll also be showing how to read the mosaic charts. I use the removable tape to help keep my place when I'm looking at the charts. Thank you so much for watching!🧶😊

    Thank you so much for the tutorial. It is nice to see it done because apparently I don't read instructions very well. I would have been off if just reading and not seeing it done on rows 6&7. Looking forward to seeing what to do with all the ends. Congratulations to you and your son and bride to be. Have a great time at the wedding. I hope it is everything they want it to be.

      Thank you so much, Valerie! The day was gorgeous, the bride was gorgeous...it was wonderful! I'll be putting out a mosaic tote bag tutorial very shortly where I'll show how to weave in the ends. I'll also show how to read mosaic charts which I find much easier than reading written instructions.😊

      The blanket behind me is from a pattern by Tinna.(www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/queen-cal) I actually did a review on it, and showed it in another color way. You could easily adapt that pattern to make a bag. As a matter of fact, my next tutorial going up is of a mosaic tote bag...there will be a sneak peek of it in Episode 3 of 'Make It Your Own'. I should be posting that episode in the next day or two.😊

    Hi Frannie thank you for this tutorial - so nice & clear & easy to follow.
    This reminded me of a bag my Mum brought back from a holiday about 40 years ago! It was a blue shoulder bag (just a simple open bag) with the Greek key design in white along the bottom & it had a neat little (about 1/2")fringe. She put the guide books and postcards from where she'd been & gave it to me. I might make myself one like it now you have shown me how!😁
    Congratulations to your son, I hope you & your family have a lovely weekend ❤️

    Great tutorial!! I love the idea of leaving the yarn ends as though they are fringe. I never feel confident when weaving in ends. I haven’t found a tutorial for that especially when you have alternating colors if yarn.

    • @FranniesHair
      @FranniesHair  3 года назад

      Yes the fringe is so easy… You just tie knots. There’s also a border you can do with mosaics where you don’t have to weave in the ends… It just covers up the fringe -which you trim. When we do our mosaic project, I will show it to you.

  • @katherinesackett9215
    @katherinesackett9215 3 года назад

    Does the mosaic have actual letters & numbers to form names & such? Or in crocheting will we always be using just symbols? Can you use just 2 colors so there isn’t so many tails to tuck in?
    Congratulations 🎈🍾🎊🎉 on your son getting married this weekend!! May God bless all families involved.
    Love ❤️ & hugs 🤗

    • @FranniesHair
      @FranniesHair  3 года назад +1

      You can make numbers and letters with mosaic crochet. It sounds like that would be a good video… I’ll add it to the list. In mosaic you don’t have to weave in all the ends, there’s a border that can cover them all. I will be showing it in the full tutorial.😊

      The blanket on the chair behind me is a pattern by Tinna (I did a review on it and showed it in a different color way). I'll be putting up a mosaic tote bag tutorial in the next couple of days. It's a great introduction to doing mosaic crochet. I'll be teaching how to read the charts as well. Here's the link for that blanket: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/queen-cal
