The way I figure things, doesn’t matter which studio flash you use just how you position it. If you have the flash pointing at people with a diffuser then I would set it to the indoor settings I mentioned in the video but lower the ISO to 400. If you have the flash bouncing off of an umbrella and pointed away from people then same settings but bump the ISO to 800. After this you would basically adjust the flash output accordingly during some test photos.
Well it dependes if you are in a dark venue and if you using f10 or higher in your camera. In a dark venue I would use a alien bees b800 or 1600 because of the highter power and also buecause you can use high f stops
Hey Richard, just wanted to know, for the Mirror 3, camera setting, do you prefer 'live face/ flexizoneAF' OR 'live/live mode' on both darkroom camera settings and actual camera
Are you asking about the screen setting in Darkroom Booth 3? For the mirror set up I prefer to use the animations that come preset with DRB 3. I'll keep the camera in manual focus and preview in the liveview setting before starting the event.
Yes, these are primarily good starting points but from here you can raise the ISO or your flash output to help bring in more light. Another good thing to do is set up extra LED panels to help light up your area.
Hello, Anyone know how to get black and white pictures? Not the ctrl+B. Actually have the booth do black & white automatically when you touch the screen. Thank you
You can do this by either using a Photoshop droplet or by making the on screen buttons being used as grayscale. The grayscale will the simplest option and the droplet will need Photoshop installed on the photo booth computer.
This can all depend on your venue lighting temperature whether the colors are too warm or cool but you can stick to auto white balance or flash and that should work just fine. It’s always a good idea to have separate RGB LED lights to help balance the lighting temperature in the room.
To the familia coronado the alien bees B400 is 160 what seconds I would go with the B800 witch is 320 what seconds or the B1600 witch is 640 what seconds witch are much better at working with smaller apertures say f8 to f16
Thanks figured it out while at en event! Was way too bright out here with the sun!!
Another great video. Thank you.
What do u recommend using a alien bee flash 400 watt

Use these rule of thumb camera settings from the video if your going to be set up indoor or outdoor and adjust the flash accordingly

Is this good for indoor with a dark atmosphere?

For the mirror booths how do you get the camera glare off of the photos?
I recommend try using a polarizing filter for the lens to help reduce the glare, I will be making a video on this soon
