These creatures are easy to identify. In order of appearance you have the Chupacabra, Moth Man, Werewolf, Sasquache and Dracula. No worries!
Brilliant! LOL!
Comedy level... *GENIUS!*
👏👏👏👍😂😂😂
😂
Ahh you missed out the rarer, but still quite common Skinwalker.
This is the UK mate, not Australia. We only have werewolves and vampires 🥱
3/5…great idea for a video, and well presented with very useful facts, and tips. Keep up the good work, cheers
Thanks, I just identified the badger noise I heard the other night that made me nearly crap myself!!
Lol! That's what I am.hear for, they can sound pretty vicious!
3 out of 5 rather surprised i got this this many. As always very informative, learnt some facts i didn't know about some of the animals discussed and i always love videos that can help engage via scoring makes it fun too. I'm so glad i sleep through anything but I must admit for people new to camping these can be disturbing but as you say nothing to worry about if you play it safe.🤘
I guessed all right expect the owl.
Another great video. Really enjoying these camping tip videos you've done, subscribed 👍
Thanks a lot.
This is by far the best wild camping information I've seen on RUclips! Thank you for this great video. I have wild camped before but never in a Forest, I plan to do it around June/ July time, this has put me at ease. Thanks again.
You are welcome, and thanks for watching.
Hmm, got the first four. You got me with the last one though.
Great and very educative video. Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it
Very good video 👏 I got them all right and definitely number 1 the one to be afraid of
You did better than I, No.2 I had only heard the barking, glad I researched in case I ever come across it!
Interesting video. Some eerie sounds to hear in a dark wood at night. You didn't mention a most dangerous large mammal in terms of yearly deaths in the countryside. Clue: they go 'moooo!'. Had a scary encounter with a herd who pressed us in and threatened to crush us on the way to the tent in the morning. Scariest encounter was on Dartmoor with another 'safe' animal. We'd left the tent flap open as it was hot and I was awakened by a wild pony licking my face. Terrifying!
And they are big old animals too! Fortunately at least pretty easy to identify from the moos!
Very useful thank-you.
Glad it helped.
Brilliant video. Now I know.
Glad it was useful.
We have both barn owls and Spotted Eagle Owls here in the farm garden where I have my caravan. They used to live in the roof of the house behind which I had my caravan on the old farm. And all I heard at night, mostly, was a sort of gentle 'shmooze' noise. I'm in South Africa and the sound of baboons barking is quite common. Last night they brought the donkeys down from the mountain and at midnight they suddenly all went collectively crazy. You've never heard crazy until you've heard 2 dozen donkeys decide there's a predator in their camp... Cat fights... And over the weekend the migrant workers who'd come in for the harvest and have their quarters a mile away, decided to have a party. THAT kept me awake, let me tell you...
I can imagine all of those are pretty noisy. I know 1 donkey makes a racket, a whole bunch must be crazy
In Dartmoor the horses aren't afraid to come near your tent. They are harmless if you don't spook them but they can sound like someone walking about. Sheep and cows can also get pretty close which can sound pretty freaky lol.
Had some sheep visit us at 2am in a family campsite, the dogs went beserk, fortunately everybody was very undersanding.
Thanks for this video man. Got my first solo camp tomorrow so due to research via RUclips and google my algorithm feed has shown me some scary stuff. This has put me right at ease. Love the channel man.
Glad it helped! How did your camp go?
@@dogdadoutdoors Not actually headed out yet. Tonight be the big night.
@@cameronmurray1151 You'll be fine, the biggest hurdle is just walking out the door, once you are there its generally fine.
5/5 🦊👌 But Wildlife Is My Subject Lol
Excellent Video, Your Knowledge of UK Wildlife Is Absolutely Spot On…Well Done on The Exceptional Information 🦊👍👍👍
Keep Up The Great Work,
Also Great Hearing Your Description Of The Red Fox…Thank You…
Cheers From Mike At The Highland Fox Sanctuary 🏴🦊🤙
Thanks for watching and beautiful dogs. Mine aren't quite so good with foxes, regularly get woken up to 'woo, woo, woo!' from one or both of my two. One day they will calm down....
4/5, didn't get the Deer sounds, very weird, first thought of a Hippo, but not in the UK!! And yes after watching ceepy camping experiences on YT, Human are definitely the sounds you do not want to hear, seems there are quite a few nutters roaming the woods in the wee small hours. Great video.
I think a lot of the channels 'embellish' shall we say. Some of them seem to be disturbed by ghosts, goblins and werewolves every weekend!
Thanks. 4/5. I thought the roe deer was an escaped piggy or wild boar. Worst encounter for me was a black bear in the backcountry of Sequoia NP in California. At first light, as I exited my tent, I was stood face to face with the bear. I'm 6'3" and 14 stone, but nearly ran. Glad I didn't. We locked eyes for what felt like ages. Luckily, I must've looked awful to him as he turned and ran off at full speed. He was shockingly fast.
Yeah I imagine that would wake you up pretty fast! Here in the UK we really don't have any animals to really worry about, of which I'm quite grateful, its nice being top of the food chain!
I heard number 1 last night, oooooh I was so scared. Every terror came to mind, I feel so silly now. Thank you for the peace of mind.
Glad I could help, although I bet it would have been better if you had watched the video before that!
It's the wild boar that concern me the most as they are very inquisative and will approach and explore your camp. The last thing you want to do is to wake up and see a wild boar right alongside your hammock, looking at you with glistening tusks, etc. The best thing to do is keep foodstuffs in sealed bags and clear away any food scraps. The mind will play tricks on us but after a few nights outside, the noises become more normal and people tend to sleep bettter. Great video, keep them coming
Thank you. yeah I think a wild boar would scare me to be fair.
@@dogdadoutdoors Yes, a friend of mine here in France had one weighing about 95kgs round his tent - he looked out and saw it
Had a pair of boar nuzzle around outside the tent early a.m. while camping on the Kent/Sussex border. They'd messed up the glowing fire embers and one got burnt on the snout, causing them to flee when we looked out.
4/5 somehow. Thought human would be too obvious. Great video 👍
Well done
# 1 was a good one !
The fox mating call is named _yekkering._
The second rutting call, 05:15, reminds of a stag on a motorbike. 🤪😂
This is one of those moments where I dont have to worry about shit!
I’m surprised I got 4 / 5 of these right, I didn’t guess human.
They’re the ones you should be afraid of at night if your alone in your tent.
No.4 is definitely the Australian guy "They came bounding over"........
Got fox, owl, dear.
That's good effort. I must admit the Deer were new to me. I'd heard them barking, but never that noise before.
Here in the pnw, I have hunted, camped, rode motorcycles and fished here for 32 years. I live and grew up in the sticks. I head a noise that I've heard a handful of times. Not a lot mind you maybe 10-15 always a long ways off. Honestly always figured ir was a bear. I heard that same noise tonight at dusk sun had set. Pretty much no light anymore. Can hardly make out the Ridgeline. My whole family was with me so I'm not crazy i swear it sounded like it was flying. In the air. Almost like swooping. Whatever was making this noise was to large to fly. Then i started hearing them all over. The family is terrified. They instantly got back in the truck Ive got my ar-15 and a 40 round magazine. Definitely unnerved, but not scared. I stood out and tried to see it. I have an ir/night vision optic. Nothing the got further and further. And did it incredibly quickly. Whej i heard the one (this sounds crazy) swooping in the air it was still light enough that i would have seen lets say a crow or something that size. Probably even a bat. Telling you ut sounded like a bear. Any ideas?? Thanks!
Sorry, I have no idea, but it sounds utterly terrifying!
@@dogdadoutdoors found it! Called a nighthawk. And they do this dive and they go so fasy it causes their wings to vibrate and make that sound. They call it a nighthawk "boom".
very helpful
Glad to hear that
It's not the wild life that would scare me it would be the thought that some nut job might be out there lurking in the dark
That is unfortunately the problem
Very interesting! Did get the fox and deer lol.
Lol @human sound: was hoping for an animal explanation!
Stumbled across your video after a Grizzly Gaz video where he heard weird wailing/singing noises and whistles. Very creepy. Doesnt sound like wind going through object or something. If it really was a person spooking him.....😳.
Anyhows, cheers....a Dutch wannabe wild camper and new subscriber who probably postpone the real solo stuff until she gets a big dog😂. Stick to nature canpsites....not allowed to wild camp here. Though I've been alone on the area for hikers a few times. 😎
Big dogs are the best! Saying that my Nova is just under 40kg of muscle and sinew and she is afraid of her own shadow!
@@dogdadoutdoors Haha....ah well, at leest her appearance must deter any shady people of coming too close lol
As a boy I knew most of these sounds, growing up in the countryside in Scotland, the New Forest and Exmoor/Dartmoor. (Army Brat - we moved a lot). 5/5. Yes, humans are the worst thing to worry about but I've found that's more a problem in cities - especially at chucking out time around pubs and clubs than any other time - but vigilance is required. Luckily most of those types aren't regular users of the outdoors. In fact I feel far safer in the woods and hills than in any town centre where the locals can be very hostile.
Totally agree, I feel a lot safer outdoors in the country than I do in a city.
5 out of 5 not too bad😅
I get your point with the last one and I completely agree, but I tought it was a hedgehog. Because I heard the same thing one night in the woods and after some exploration it turned out, luckily, to be a hedgehog.
I would take a hedgehog over a person in the dead of night every time!
@@dogdadoutdoors True 😁
Great video. Any link to the torch you are using here?
It's an ultrafire c8 Red. Very, very bright! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185124032853?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=kz9Bqj61TVG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=lxGvMAMkSQ-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
There are no deadly animals in the UK… But there are plenty that sound deadly
Yes, its a pretty benign environment animal wise, but as you say, can still sound pretty scary!
Not quite. I had an adder join me in my sleeping bag during a New Forest scout camping trip. Had the snake bitten me it might've made me pretty unwell - unlikely to kill anyone though.
@@Clive697 Yes, there hasn't been a human death recorded in 50 years in the UK, compared to places like Australia, I'll take those odds!
Adders. Humans.
Hi, I didn't know if you could help me. I'm currently staying in an old gatehouse holiday cottage with my family and I have my own room sort of a bit separate as it's at the bottom of the hall and was build hundreds of years before the rest of the bedrooms. Every night at around the same time (approx 1:30am), I hear this sound outside my window that sounds just like super slow footsteps on rough rocks and it really freaks me out as outside my window is completely overgrown and not get able to buy humans (I would think). I've tried to imagine it being a deer but it sounds too human like. Do you know of any other animals it could be? I live in the UK and can't find anything about it and it would be nice to have some clarification that it was just an animal and not a human or something as it makes me freeze out of fear every footstep I hear. Thanks
where about are you staying? some places have wild ponies like Dartmoor or the New forest and they could easily create heavy footsteps and slow footsteps as they slowly graze. If you are near a farm it could even be cows.
If in doubt shine a torch out, if its a human up to not good they will likely scarper.
@@dogdadoutdoors Thank you! We're staying in Northumberland but horses or ponies would be amazing. Thanks for the advice so far, I'll try and get a glimpse when it probably happens again tonight!
Talking of sounds at night...
There was a documentary years ago with scientists trying to find Bigfoot.
They didn't. But they did discover 18 inch (46cm) long turds in the forest.
One scientist, with a straight face, said "We don't know if this is proof of Bigfoot...but it probably explains the screams you hear in the forest at night" 😂
Well, yeah, I can imagine that would being a tear to your eye!
I got 5 out of 5 😅 im a new channel do wild camping just done a video on tracking which you may like im still learning only been on for 10 days but done wild camping for a while great video 😊
Thanks mate and welcome to the creator side of RUclips. It's a learning curve for sure, still figuring it out myself!
I live in a woodland area and sometimes have to tell people nobody is being murdered at night haha
Its just such an alien soundscape if you are from the city.
4/5
Well done!
Except being kept awake....
I never got the deer
I would never have gotten that one too until I researched it for this. Glad I did, I think I'd need new underwear if I heard that when I was on my own at night!
what if you hear something say your name?
Creepy! Maybe time to run!
Hi it's dogs thats my fear after being attacked twice axi a teen .even on day cooking in a wood I'm so k of dogs running up ,most are ok but the odd one will go for me .last one nearly got my meths burnet thrown over it as it nipped me .
Liverpool University did a study and found when you are anxious, you are significantly more at risk of being bitten. Seems a bit unfortunate really!
I would poo if I heard any of these animals. Your mind just thinks the worst. The human sound, I would just think of a hedgehog. Now if I hear a hedgehog I'll think of a human 😮
Yeah, that's why I did this, I'm hoping if people see it before they go and recognise the sound, it will put their mind at ease. Got to admit though, even after all of the research I did I'd still need new underwear if I heard the deer on my own at night.
The trouble is serial killers and Dogman try to make as little sound as possible as they approach your camp. Good luck!
That's why I am a big fan of using things like bushes and brambles as they make a lot of noise as you go through them!
@@dogdadoutdoors Typo I meant Dogman. This is the second time of writing my VPN crashed on the last one. Sorry man, just got a chuckle out of writing some comments. I am currently out in South China and would not fancy being in the woods here. Ditto when I lived out in Texas. I am a big fly fisherman although not here and a field archer since childhood. I went to a lake once in Texas off-season, so had no one to ask about the Beware of Alligator signs posted everywhere. Yeah, they did have them and that was one unsettling fishing trip, although I slept in my truck and did not put up my tent. I teach out in China, but also breed Basenjis. My last buyer owned two Jack Russells. I sold him a cracking tricolour female and told him she was not fixed, but I did a Google search for images of Jack and Basenji mix and they are cool-looking dogs. Check it out. Excuse my sense of humour, you were lucky I was on a pad when writing those as I had far more jokes to write. Enjoy England, I have been out for around 17 years and I would still love the countryside but not everything else. As for the woods around me here. Way too many snakes and hunter spiders, and all the rest.

It’s too bad that animals are treated better than humans in the UK because the UK is such a beautiful country
Man arrested today with charges of ABH after attacking another wild camper just looking for somewhere to poo
If somebody is making any of those noises whilst dropping the kids off at the pool it would probably be considered euthanasia...
Think the scareist thing One could hear and make you shyte your pants, is hearing a politician talking as they walk by, imagine hearing Biden or Clinton, and shudder Meghan M
