I just beat the game and this is the first time I've seen Gate with yellow armor I think. I played this game every day but never remember the end boss.
Casually, this game is too difficult, in spite of it having some of the best music and designs in the franchise. Speedrunning, this game looks doable and fun! I loved running through Heatnix once I had "storm eagle", and being able to do that sort of stuff the entire time and actually consistently beat this game sounds fun! I now want to speed run this and Luna Nights.
I personally love X6. True the stage designs are lackluster but I don't mind the difficulty. What I find the most fun about it is that you can revisit stages to save reploids you may have missed beforehand. The part rewards are cool, the stages changing makes it less boring and the boss powers are sick (except sentsuizan, fuck that move). Even X's blade and shadow armor in this are badass. Not to mention the killer music. X4 is definitely a cleaner experience and the best PS1 X game, but I just kept coming back for X6 runs.
I can easily beat every game starting from MegaMan X up to MegaMan X5, but this particular game is so full of bu****it. I have never been able to beat X6 and I have attempted this feat 3 times at different stages of my life. I'm amazed at how easy these guys make it look like. Thank you for this speedrun, I finally saw the ending to MegaMan X6.
The game is actually not that bad. I've played it and think it's pretty good for the most part. Not nearly as good as the other X games (except X7) but worth playing atleast once if you're a MegaMan fan.
True story: I first played X6 way back in the mid-2000s. It was at a friend's house and I didn't own the game. We were about to head out and do stuff, but he needed to take care of a few things first. I decided to give X6 a try while I was waiting and played it for about an hour. I beat the intro stage and got through most of Commander Yammark (i.e. the one decent stage). And that's all I ever knew of X6 for about five years. I was left with a very positive impression and thought it had some cool stuff going for it, namely the parts and Reploid rescue systems. That's why I was surprised after I got more into gaming that all of the boards and LPs were saying that X6 was terrible. Oh man, were they ever right! Nostalgia has never lied to me so hard.
As a lifelong fan of the Mega Man X, X6 was not only the hardest, but it was also the worst. On the footsteps of X5, X6 felt like it came out less than a year after its predecessor. Where X5 was a step down from animations, X6 left the original Japanese audio over English subtitles; where the X series had the occasional funny boss name, the boss lineup for X6 was atrocious; no update on graphics; hell, even the damn storyline felt rehashed (revisit X3 for the utopia/cult edge). I hate being this harsh about my favorite franchise, but this one was just bad. Then again, Capcom had way bigger ambitions in 2001
@@ENEBReviews “X6 felt like it came out less than a year after it’s predecessor “ that’s actually because it did. Watching all the Mega Man X games in order, it's funny how as the technology progresses, the loading times get dramatically worse and the bugs get more numerous and severe.
I love this game, it was the first Megaman game I ever played. After this one I went after X5, and I didn't like it as much, and after that I tried X4 at the store and kid me really didn't like how much worse it looked compared to X6, so I didn't get it. I don't think I can ever finish this game, need to die a thousand times before getting used to the final bosses. :O who's here from Dec 2018? shoutout to you all my fellow Megaman fans!
That's what I felt before but watching diff megaman x6 players made me realize they've also died thousand times before they master the game. I could say that I am now bein' able to finish the run for about 1 hr 45 min. Still, I am far behind to those. Lol
I struggled so much as a kid with this game. It was so hard for me but I managed to get to the final boss, which I could never beat. I was more interested in X and getting all the awesome armors
Reila Nimu I find that highly unlikely. It's pretty clear the direction each particular level takes. If anything the game feels unbalanced, since it was rushed.
Just finished playing this as X, albeit with full Blade and Shadow armor. Still really tough even then, especially when I had to back out of the Gate stages and switch to the Blade armor. I usually prefer it but Shadow Armor's immunity to spikes made that stage really easy until you have to hit that obnoxious long jump after beating High Max. Nightmare Mother was irritating, but she was fairly easy to overcome with the aid of a sub tank. The only things that made me truly rage in this game were the fucking donuts in the Heatrix stage and that initial set of jumps that you hit right away in the first Gate stage. I missed Jumper, so after running into the aforementioned impasse with the Shadow armor I went and hunted it down. Honestly Jumper is so strong that, combined with the Blade armor, I didn't even need to use the ice platform weapon. Giga Crush got me through the donuts. What really struck me is that this game's Sigma fight was a lot easier than most of the rest of the game. The first part is a breeze with Metal Anchor. The second was a little more frenetic, but Blade Armor's Giga Crush allowed me to manage the adds fairly easily and more or less farm them for health drops. I also had two full sub tanks, both of which I used, but being able to farm health from the adds allowed me to get a lot of damage in before having to use either of them.
Leo Stephan yeah I'm sure she's super tired of making a living by talking into a mic and playing video games, her life sure sounds hard. EDIT: not saying it's not mildly annoying, but there's a lot of things worse in this world such as being in any of the devestated areas that MSF operates in.
timothy chan they explained on the video, the technique Sentsuizan ( the ground spin attack) grants you invicivility frames while in use, however if you somehow manage to remove the floor bellow you (by either destroying them moving out of them, they dissapearing etc) the game cancels the attack but doesn"t remove the invincibility frames basically making you impervious to damage until you either use the technique again completing the animation cycle and restoring your hit box or when you lose control of your character (mainly the door transitions) and when you regain it it gets reseted so it has the hit box turned on again
