this was my paper airplane! pinback asked us to request songs by writing them on paper airplanes and flying them onto the stage. i got greedy and asked for two songs :) thank you so much for having this. what a great show
Wow That bass riff is so insane! I thought it was a bass and guitar part when I heard it on the record but nah he’s just a beast and does it on a single bass lol
Crutch was my favorite Pinback song as a teenager (in the 00's). There are just so many great Pinback songs. My life is significantly better and more fulfilling thanks to their music. As an actual guitar player (and half ass drummer lol) their sound has really inspired my playing. I also have wanted to pick up a bass for years because of Zack. He is without any question my favorite bassist, like other bassists dont even come close lol.
I’ve been listening to this band for over twenty years and I live in Ohio. I wanted to be at this show so god damned bad but I couldn’t get off work. Good to know my favorite band is loved.

A real bassgod. Deserves more recognition imo
Found this band on a very random Spotify shuffle. Been hooked ever since this song. Bouquet is another great one by them.
Welcome, man.
Same here, glad to see someone else in the same boat as me. AFK is my favorite track.
Loro too!!
I hope you listened to their albums. Pinback, Blue Screen, Abbadon, and Seraphs are all great
What other stuff do you listen to?

The bass morphs into a guitar in this song.
He plays alot of songs like that, is his playing style, more melodic less rhythmic.

Bro, is it worth living for a job? I think not.
2:20 is pure bliss.
I would literally cry
This was the speed that I became accustomed to when I heard this song for the first time. It sounds way better at this tempo. Brilliant.
I really don't like it rushed like this. Crutch is my fav song of all time and it's so much better at the other slower pace
holyshit what a song
The Greatest Band to have ever formed ❤️
I literally thought the intro was a guitar, my life is lie
Best band ever
THAT BASS
I always remember the thumb on this dude, no matter how far away you are in the crowd you can see it
Literally the Les Claypool of Indie Rock. Nobody comes close.
is there a specific name to the technique Zach uses for the Crutch riff? really interesting with the right hand on 19th fret and strumming through
maybe a combination of strumming and tapping
You would probably really enjoy watching Ryan Martini playing the LD50 stuff. Crazy right hand technique as well
They played Crutch pretty fast. It honestly sounds better.
I hear this a lot, but I really prefer the song slower. It feels much less melancholy at a higher tempo
@@sprthhfk it also feels more forced
@@sprthhfk i prefer the original as well but it goes crazy at this tempo lol i love it
Luke Skywalker on the beat
Crutch: 0:18
Rousseau: 3:53
thanks
